Fourth C. I. R. C. L. E. Participation Policy Violation Discussion

Toa_Ausar

It is my sad duty to inform the group that at this point in time Kohilå, Tårth, Cap'n K, & Legend of Lesovikk have all failed to participate in two or more consecutive voting threads. :(

As such, they are all in clear violation of the "C.I.R.C.L.E. Participation Policy" and are therefore subject to probable sanctions ranging from "Probation" to "Demotion".

The "TURAGA COUNCIL" would appreciate it if the rest of "The C.I.R.C.L.E." would please take a moment to post their thoughts on this situation and suggest an appropriate course of action that will be undertaken in the coming weeks.

Thanks.

Well, maybe if they have a good reason as to why, there need not be any probations or demotions. However, since I haven't heard anything yet, I'll have to hear why they didn't before forming a proper opinion on the matter.

In the interest of fairness I believe that we should treat all members equally, and in the past these situations have always been dealt with identically, in spite of who actually committed the violation. As far as I can see, the only difference this time around is that this is Tårth 's second such offense in the past year, which may or may not find relevant. :notsure:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we've had to do no demotions so far, only a couple of issuings of probation. Therefore, if their offenses aren't really that serious apart from not giving us input, I see no reason to demote them.

In my honest opinion, probations would be fine. What do you think, Ausar?

It doesn't matter to me what's done with them. But isn't Cap'n out of BZP now? I thought he left, if that makes a difference.

I agree that probations are likely the best course of action, but we might want to begin thinking about the sad possibility of a need for some sort of three-strike clause in the future.

The violation occurred prior to the announcement that he was leaving BZPower. Furthermore, Cap'n K has asked that he be allowed to remain part of The C.I.R.C.L.E. and so negotiations to that effect are ongoing, and I'm awaiting his reply on that matter.

I think, as we have only used them, probation is used. Although, do we need something a bit harsher on Tarth, as it is his second strike, so to say?

I would first like to say that I am indeed sorry that I missed the chance to vote in those last few threads, despite the frequent PM notifications. :(

In all honesty, voting in those remaining threads kept on getting pushed down and buried in a pile of schoolwork, with the mentality of "I'll get to it eventually". Well, it seems that the 'eventually' came sooner than expected and thus here I am.

If Probation is necessary, then so be it. I just wanted to clear my name of any irresponsible actions that might've been implied by this. I would also like to note that I did, in fact, vote in one of those last threads; I just forgot about the others.

Now that's just plain not true. :P

I double checked the latest series of voting and there is no comment from you in any of the last three threads. :uhuh:

No worries though, we all get busy once in a while and things often get pushed to the back burner.

I think maybe probation is best unless Tarth, Capn K and Lessovikk can explain their absence like Kohila has done.

I must agree with Zahaku, any unexplained absence should be dealt with probation. However, I feel that this being Tarth's second violation, a stronger sentence should be put into effect.

I would also like to take the time to note that my time on the internet has been restricted as of late, though I will attempt to be on at least once a week.

i do believe that Cap'n K said he wanted his works and characters to remain in the CIRCLE, but he said he wouldn't be able to participate in group activities like voting.

I would say a probation for each of these members until/unless they can provide a good reason why they haven't been able to vote, as I usually say. As Kohila has explained his absence I would recommend exempting him from probation. Albeit, the explanation was really more of a "sorry, I forgot" than a genuine reason, but in case such a thing happens to me in the future, I'd like to think that would be enough to explain my absence, so I'll overlook it. :P

As for Cap'n K, obviously, hold back on probation until that problem is straightened out.

I knopw that Capn K left BZP, so I would let it slide for him. As for the others, well, this is Tarth's second offense....

I agree with Auserv on pretty much everything.

Ah.. this is the part I always hate. I would recommend a pretty light probation for Kohila, Cap'n K, and Legend of Lesovikk.. for Tarth, however, since this is his second offense this year, I would say either a heavier probation than the others, or, as much as I really don't want to do this.. a demotion would be good to put into consideration.

I agree with Ausar, in that we may need to implement a system of strikes that can be used up. However until those strikes are used up there should not be any demotions. Demotion should be saved for repeat offenders. Know that I have no bias on this, considering on many occasions, I have almost been placed on probation because of such offenses. After all, you do reap what you sow.

Though I do not know Legend as well as the others, I know Kohila for sure.

The first three I know would participate if they could; meaning somehting may have just come up. I cannot speak for Legend, unfortunately. So, there, my two cents have been deposited.

The deadline has passed and congratulations are in order for the five BZPower Members, who've received at least two nominations, and have therefore been brought to a vote for consideration of inclusion in "The C.I.R.C.L.E.".

If you're one of the five possible future "MATORAN", or already a member of "The C.I.R.C.L.E.", be on the lookout for a PM that will explain the next few steps in this process.

Thanks again to all who posted in this thread and good luck to the nominees.

Until next time.
