I haven't read/listened to audio books of Naomi Novik's series, but I found a pretty good fantasy series to be the Deepgate Codex (Scar Night, Iron Angel, God of Clocks and a side character-oriented story titled Lye Street) by Alan Campbell. It's in a steampunk setting and there's an interesting array of characters throughout the story.

It may be oriented more towards the preteen audience, but I quite enjoy the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott. It's a pretty interesting series so far.

Yeah, where is Book 4?

I would suggest reading a book that was released a couple of days ago called The Passage. by Justin Cronin. It's a mix of fantasy and science fiction, I would say. It's about life after a virus is unleashed from a research facility, which triggers an apocalypse. 766 pages of wonderful story telling, and it's the first book of a trilogy. The book has gotten a lot of praise too.

The Bartimaeus Trilogy, The Dresden Files, The Temeraire novels... these are all good fantasy-type books, some of my favs.
