A Message For The Storyline Leaders

Sometime after we finish writers sign-up, we need to think up the characters. That's mine and your job. here's what i know for sure (but you can edit, if you see fit)

1:a human captain

2:a first officer with a lifespan of thousands of years, aged 400, looks like a teenager, plagued by the biases of "a child unfit for command"

3:Ensign B4

4:a Chief Medical Officer

5:a Chief Engineer

beyond this, you may add caracters to any position on the ship you see fit. i'm not saying "say your ideas now", just begin thinking about them.

and for the captain, CMO, and Chief Engineer, you can think of backstories and names of you wish.

our goal is to get a rough physical description, species, name, and backstory for each character. (i call the first officer, though :P)

summary of The "state of flux"

Ensign Seska is found to have been trading Voyager's replicator technology to the Kazon in clear violation of the Prime Directive and an investigation uncovers an even more surprising revelation she is a Cardassian spy.

the reason i suggested it is because of the USS Equinox.

...ah. i understand what you're saying now...

however, now reading your post a little closer, i kinda have to say no. this is still the prime universe, but it's set after when spock left.

It cant be the prime universe due to this

voyager was returning, they had on long-range sensors

they came through a transwarp conduit so they wouldn't see any planets.

Maybe the colony's drifted out into the Delta Quadrant? (Or, at least, the BQ-DQ border, which I think is where Voyager entered the conduit)?

I'm not sure what starship class you actually decided to use, but if it was a Vesta- which was one of the ideas- with slipstream drive (or any ship with slipstream drive) this might work.

Except if you're going with the traditional Star Trek "one season = one year", a slipstream ship wouldn't take three years to reach the edge of the Delta Quadrant. It would be much faster. So maybe not.

huh...*thinks* i'm gonna have to do some thinking on that...but i WILL figure out a way to merge it into the prime universe.

Maybe a Luna-class deep space exploration ship found it, while charting the Beta Quadrant? Then sent word back to Starfleet to send a ship out there?

That depends on whether or not you would have the book series Star Trek: Titan be canon, or at least have aspects of it be canon, for Colony 5, though.

hmmm...well, cause of conflicting data, i prefer not make the comics or books canon. but, maybe we can make up a class of ships that was charting wherever colony 5 is located...

how about using a dauntless class starship?

Why not say "some things from the books and comics are canon, but only if I say they are?"

I think it would be easier to recycle the Luna class deep space explorer and say "while this particular starship is canon, it does not mean that any events from the Star Trek: Titan book series are canon", rather than invent a new class of deep space explorer that would basically be the same as the Luna, but without any of the events that happened in ST: Titan.

In other words, the ship would be pretty much the same, it would just be the name that's different.

that makes sense about having the classes from them and it stops the issue of canon.

Alright...from this point out, the series Star Trek Titan is non-canon, but the luna class is.
