Well, those leaked pics made the rounds...and now I've seen a crystal clear pic of the Red Mahri, and a few fuzzy canister shots of the others. Thankfully they were nameless pics. And I have to say that the 2007 canister sets easily will rank as some of the best designs Bionicle has ever seen.

 

From what I can tell, every complaint I had about the Inika is fully resolved. And I may just have to break my resolution and grab a full set of Barraki along with my Mahri team. LEGO needs to be rewarded for what they've done this year.

 

So start saving now, and if you haven't seen them yet...perpare to be astounded when the official release arrives. Until then, I promise I won't do any of that spoiler stuff to those of you who don't want it ruined.

Might as well post my opinion of the two Toa that I've seen clearly again.

red Toa-

head- The official spammer's mask!

body- The red boomerang-shaped thing just looks dumb, it was made for the crab- it should stay on the crab.

arms- bland

weapon- Another bloated light-up sword that I'll never use in a MOC.

legs- They lack originality as they're the Inika's.

crab- I would like this if it wasn't for the ridiculously oversized Gatling gun sprouting from the creature's back.

color scheme- Mata red and orange, you can't go wrong. :)

 

yellow Toa-

head- The mask would look awesome if it wasn't clutted by that silly-looking breathing tube.

body- It's Kalmah's, need I say more?

arms- Unsymmetrical and far too large.

weapons- Obnoxious Gatling gun and some sort of large spear that looks more like an axe.

legs- bland

color scheme- Yellow...must have!

It makes me wonder how big the sets actually are...considering how much is going on. And yeah, I saw the Mahri's names on some other site. I wasn't really looking for them, they were just kinda there.

 

I'm still psyched about seeing them in person. They look like full-on action figures.

I don't know if that's a compliment or complaint anymore...considering there are some really awesome MOCs these days.

 

Though the last set I heard described as an "MOC" was Umbra.

Oh yeah huh, I forgot about that. Yeah the BBC Finals had some pretty amazing Mocs too.

All Lego sets are MOCs. They're still the creations of the designers. It just happens that they can make new pieces for theirs. :D

I'm a bit excited on how the Mahri's sales would turn out next year. Most likely I would be purchasing a full set.

 

On another note, they remind me of professional scuba divers. :P

I agree, the Mahri and 2007 as a whole look like it'll be a big payday for TLC, not to mention one of the most remembered years. Next year the same people who were be complaining that Piraka and Inika were better will be saying 'The Barraki were way better than the ______, I'm disappointed."
