The third and final thing of note I picked up last weekend was something sorely coveted through the Christmas season.
The Outlaw Star perfect collection box set. All 26 episodes. Character galleries. Textless openings and endings.
11 hours of Outlaw Star goodness.
$60 well spent, even if I don't have a DVD player (except on the computer here at work).
What's the deal with this anime? Well, in 2000, this was the anime that got me into anime. Seriously, this had everything to pique my every interest.
Spaceships, check
Treasure, check
Scenery, check
Action, check
Foreign weaponry, check
A complete story, check
I have wanted this ever since I didn't catch every episode of Outlaw Star back when Toonami was an every-weekday thing, coupled with Toonami: Midnight Run, in the pre- Adult Swim era.
I've even taken to learning some Japanese in the process: the title is a line from the theme song "Through the Night", and means "My love, my dreams, and you".
Or so the subtitles tell me.
*contented sigh* My life is now more complete.
