Y'know, it doesn't surprise me. People just don't always read the stuff in big, red, bold letters. I might suggest just linking to the pictures next time you post such a topic - it's just safer that way. Nobody can miss reading anything if you don't type it.

Problem is is that I just put up those big, bold letters, before I just had 'em in a normal font and color.

Well does it really matter if they are closed. nobody could post in them anyway.

What TSTLT says is right. I know how you feel---a closed topic always feels more "doomed" than a dead one---but remember that now, nobody else can revive them!

I had the same thing happen to me when I dug up three of my old posts and, amused by the newbiness, linked to them in my signature. Later on I came back to find that someone had replied in all three topics and got them closed. It just happens. When someone clicks on a link, they automatically assume you wouldn't link to a dead topic. Occasionally, someone will edit their post and say, "Drat, I didn't notice this was dead until after I posted!" But other times, they'll just continue on their merry way.

You could try putting "DEAD!" next to every dead link, or "NOT DEAD!" next to every living link. Unless they're all dead.

But really, don't feel bad, -SZ-. Sometimes people simply don't notice the warnings.
