In One Week...

-Shannara-

Back in 2003, the Blaine High School Wind Ensemble did something special. They took a 10-day trip to Japan to take part in the Funabashi Music Festival, a giant festival near to Tokyo. They were the first band ever to be invited from the United States. It was an amazing adventure, and formed lasting friendships that have spanned across an ocean.

Since that time, many Japanese high school concert bands (which prefer to tour in Canada) have taken time from their trip to duck down into little Whatcom County, Washington to play. The trip in 2003 established a connection.

One week from today I will be on a plane ride with 53 of my peers, doing the same thing. And I couldn't be more pumped.

Wait, are you from Blaine? I always thought you were closer near Seattle (at least in northern WA...) Blain's way up North. Isn't that where they hold the Math Olympiad Championships? :P

Boy, band students always get to go exotic places. Enjoy your trip.

You should have come to Canada instead. We have Provinces. It's wacky!

Territories are Krazy! And... let's see... Daniel Powter, John Coltrane... Or at least, I think John is his first name...

BTW, Shan, it seems amazing that you get to go to Tokyo just for a little trip. Maybe you should by a souvenier for the Empress. :P
