Minecraft: Anyone Know Anything About Texture Packs?

So: I'm creating a texture pack in Minecraft and was wondering if there's any way currently to change the color of water or stop the grass and trees from becoming weird green shades that vary based on biome, anyone know? Those are the two problems I'm having. It's looking like it's not possible without actually editing the code, but I don't know and thought I'd ask here.

Well, I know you can change the colour of the water, but it doesn't have the flowing animation. Same applies to lava and fire.

Oh really, how? If that's true that would be enough.

 

You mean classic multiplayer or SMP? I don't play either very often because I don't have anyone to play with, but I would if I did.

Also if you can get a server set up, I've been dying to play either mode, preferably SMP.

there's a test BZP server being set up right now.

But remember, it's just a test server; the real thing is coming at New Years, so don't get too attached to it.
