So... Potter Part 1

Wow. What a great lead up. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 was so well done. And the acting was great. Just everything about that, book inconsistencies aside since they didn't screw up the movie, was really good.

I also liked how they told Beedle's story of the Hallows.

Can Summer come already? I'm going to have to dress up for that one...

It was especially neat being there with everyone else, because everyone was excited and ready to watch a good movie they have been anticipating probably since the 7th book came out, or the first movie.

The Newspaper Staff at my school actually did an overview of the movie, and the individuals who worked on that page had a lot of good things to say about it. Since it seems to be getting a pretty good reception from people, I'll probably go ahead and see the movie this weekend, if time permits. Though, I do recall an interview where the actors were talking about how they were putting their all into the movie -- trying their very best to end the series with a bang, and not sputter out with a halfhearted leap offstage. Seems like they weren't just jabbering. ^_^

I remember when the 7th book came out. I was at World Jamboree. They released the book while the Jambo was taking place.

IT WAS EVERYWHERE

EVERYWHERE

Book 7 came out the day before my crew flew out from Philmont. I got my copy and read it on the plane back home.

2005 National Jamboree started the day after book 6 came out. I brought my copy but barely touched it.

Book 5 came out the day before I went to scout camp. I also brought my copy, as did many others.

The books always did seem to come out right before scouting summer camp for me. I remember I was only able to read the first two chapters of the sixth one before I went to camp for a week (my sister got it while I was at camp) And I also remember a bunch of the younger scouts brought it with them and read it while at camp... which all the adults frowned upon, XD.

I guess I need to see this movie then. And it the second movie were released a few weeks later, I would totally say we should go view it before / after Brickfair. (If I can make it or not...)

I was on holiday in Ireland when prisoner of Azkaban came out. The UK was even more excited with dressing up and stuff for the books.

One sign in a bookstore said "Wizards this way, Muggles stay out". ^^

I was at a troop-run summer camp in Wyoming when book 7 came out, and one kid convinced his dad to go out and buy the book for him, and then read it around camp. He's lucky he made it home alive.

The movie was awesome! I don't think I've ever seen an adaption of a book that was truer to it in my life.
