Hey, guys! Come over here and see the new comic this random yellow guy just posted! It's sure to make you LOL (or at least facepalm).

Also, my Halloween Accessory Set review is feeling rather unloved. Pay it a visit, won't you?

Yep, that's right. I'm angry. Why, you ask? Well, it has to do with my most recently released comic, Comic 99.

See, last Saturday was the first Science Olympiad Invitational competition for 2007. I was all ready to take on the Entomology (insects) test and take home the gold. My partner and I did, what we thought was, very well. We didn't know a few questions, but we had confidence in most of them. We had to have placed in the top 6th — we placed 15th!

I was in shock, awe, and anger. We felt gipped, because we'd been the State champs last year, we know our stuff. We took a look at the test on the bus ride home, and we found that we made a HUGE mistake — we put the families and orders in the wrong answer blanks.

We were furious at this mistake. When we can, my partner and I are going to figure out what we would've gotten had that mistake not happened and what place we would've received.

At least it was an invitational. Hopefully things will look up.

On the bright side, my 100th comic is just one slot away. I want to try to do something really good for it, but I don't know what. It'll probably be a sprite comic, hopefully a long one at that.

Also, as you may have noticed, I have joined the Star Wars fad thingy. This is one of those fads that I don't mind joining, actually, since I am a fan of Star Wars and have a favorite character.

And, let's just face it. Xextos rule.

Nearly two weeks ago, my brothers, parents, roommate (whom Tekulo has taken to call Friend: Toa of Friendship, so I will refer to him as such), and two family friends took a relaxing trip down to Hilton Head Island, SC. Our first day in the condo wasn't terribly eventful; we all went to the beach and enjoyed the sun and sea. Tekulo built a rockin' sand castle, with a moat, staircases, and other hidden gems, and our dad got pooed on by a crow/raven/corvid. Twice. Also, KK decided to take advantage of my skin condition and scratch "Hi" on my back, which wasn't too bad due to the cool ocean keeping the itchiness at bay.

Day 2 was fairly laid back. The youngins (my brothers, Friend, and I) stayed at the condo for the most part and partook in various stay-in type activities whilst the older folks (parents and family friends) went out and did adult things. Those who weren't allergic to shellfish had a dinner of shrimp, scallops, and the like; the two of us who were allergic (including me) had steak, because that's ocean food.

Day 3 we ended up eating dinner at a restaurant known for its awesome seafood, and while you would think that limited my choices (it did), I was able to have sashimi tuna with avocado and peanut sauce. It was by far the best meal I had there, and it still haunts me.

On Day 4, the elders went to Savannah, GA to tour the city and see the sights, while we youngins did awesome stuff. Our morning featured parasailing thanks to Tekulo's reservation-making skills. Friend: Toa of Friendship went up with KK, while Tekulo and I paired up for our flight. It was a real thrill and surprisingly quiet when you get a few hundred feet above the boat. The motor was a faint hum in the distance, and the view of the bay was fantastic. I would definitely recommend it to those who have never done it before, even if you have a fear of heights (like me). After returning to shore, we found out the same company offered kayaking to a wildlife preserve marsh nearby, so we reserved that for the afternoon while checking out Harbour Town in the meantime. We climbed up the lighthouse, grabbed a bite to eat, and then met up for a kayaking adventure into marshland. It was a fun little tour, filled with the floating excretions of a manatee (I may have glimpsed its nostrils!), herons and egrets, hermit crabs, and dogs barking at us from nearby villas. The park was very quiet and serene, and it was nice to be near nature. Once summer rolls around in the north I'd like to do some more kayaking/canoeing activities. After we returned from our marshland adventure (in fairly windy, rocky waters), we had dinner at a local pub, then went on to play 18 holes of minigolf. Friend: Toa of Friendship won with just two over par, and I claimed second place with Tekulo and KK trailing behind us.

Day 5 was the youngins' return to Ohio in which Tekulo read The Promise, KK played Fire Emblem, and my 3DS's battery died from playing A Link Between Worlds.

All in all, the trip was lots of fun, but it was nice to finally get back home after two weekends of constant traveling.

Alas, my Spring Break has come to a close. I did have fun, though. I got Sonic & Knuckles for the SEGA Genesis and enjoyed time with friends and family.

This week I get a midterm for my grad level E&M class. We have over two weeks to do it, though, which is quite nice.

Also, Happy St. Patrick's Day, all! If you are old enough to drink, please do so responsibly.

So, I know it's been a few weeks since the awesomeness that was BrickFair, VA, 2013, but I've finally gotten around to editing the pictures of the stuff I managed to get my hands on at that wonderful convention.

    My loot includes
    A pin
A BrickFair brick (It's actually three bricks stacked on top of each other, but whatever.)
A yellow prototype Shadow Leech! (Thanks, Black Six!)
    A yellow 1980s space guy.
    Two minifigs (Build-your-own)
A bag of BIONICLE pieces for Tekulo
    KopakaKurahk's loot includes
    A red 1980s space guy
    Timmy from Time Cruisers.
    An awesome villain minifigure.
    A BrickFair minifigure.
I also got my mom a small Toy Story polybag set with the alien toy minifigure, since she loves those characters so much.

Soon I hope to upload some more pictures of our BrickFair adventure, so keep an eye out for that.

So, lately I've been playing Sonic Generations as a fun way to pass the time. It's a fantastically good game that I recommend to any Sonic the Hedgehog fan. It brings back the play styles of the 2D platformer and that started by Sonic Adventure. (Though the final boss is really lame.)

I also like a lot of their remixed songs. (Green Hill Zone and Chemical Plant Zone sound really cool!)

In A Link to the Past news, I've rescued the maiden in the Dark World version of the Lost Woods and am now in the Village of Outcasts trying to find out where the next maiden is being kept. I'm also getting thoroughly thieved by the denizens of said village. On an unrelated note, my roommate and I also got shiny Dialga at GameStop recently. That's pretty sweet.

And tomorrow I have my first class. Looks like my summer's officially over...

I've blogged before about the physics of bouncing a particle like a neutron on a table or other similar surface. Well, someone at the University of Arkansas has made an animation of how the spread of said particle over space evolves in time if it starts out in a "Gaussian wavepacket," which is a fancy way of saying that the neutron starts out looking more like a particle than a wave by being localized in space. The animation is here, while the full page containing the full Quicktime movie is here.

The red dot is a classical bouncing ball evolving over time (it's pretty boring comparatively). On the left is a plot of the probability of finding the particle at a certain height (the vertical axis) at any given time of the movie. The quantum particle does sort of bounce, become kind of wavy and messy, and then bounces again, but out of phase with the classical ball.

TL;DR: Cool animation of doing mundane physics with a quantum system with results that are anything but mundane. Click the links to have your mind blown.

    Hi, all!

As you may have noticed, I've been kinda away from BZP recently due to the wonder that is me being in grad school. Last month began my third year into the foray of graduate studentdom, and since then I've been up to the following:
Taking Thermodynamics/Statistical Mechanics (four lectures a week spread across Thursday and Friday)
T.A.'ing three sections of introductory physics lab
Doing research (My group recently submitted a paper which we have gotten back with editing suggestions. We're going to resubmit tomorrow and hopefully get published! I'm going to be a for-reals published scientist!)
Buying a Wii U bundled with The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD (Pictures of the awesome GamePad will follow. As of this writing, I have just beaten Gohdan)
Finding out exactly what a true Hufflepuff is, anyways.
Pertaining to Wind Waker HD, they made many great improvements to the game. For one, Carlov will make as many figurines in one day as you give him, which is really fantastic. Also, you get the deluxe Picto Box much earlier (when you complete Lenzo's tasks for him), so you can get figurines much earlier. The Picto Box also holds 12 pictures now, and thanks to the Tingle Bottle, you can use pictographs sent to you from random people on Miiverse.

I'm very happy with the improvements made in the game. If only there weren't so much BLOOM (it's not that bad, though).

When I visit home I tend to not do anything online. So, here's a basic rundown of my winter holidays:
KK, Tekulo, and I are in the same house again. This changes tomorrow, as KK and I are going to a friend's house, then KK returns to school.
Had a New Year's Eve celebration with friends from college. Had a blast.
My Christmas gifts include Super Mario Bros. 3D World, the Winter Market LEGO set (which I may trade with KK for his Winter Village Cottage, which I like a lot), a Fluttershy (my third so far), the mini-VW camper LEGO set, and a ceramic Snoopy sitting on his doghouse. All in all, a good haul.
I hope everyone has had a good winter holiday season. May 2014 bring you more joy and happiness.

So, I don't know about all of you, but I had a fantabulous Easter weekend.

I went to my college friend's house in PA, went to the Baltimore Science Center (kind of a let down), and stayed one night at his family's farm. Four-wheeling is fun. 8D

Then, since there was next to no light pollution at his farm, we went out around 11:30 at night and stargazed. It was fun times.

    I now want a farm. 8D

I am the worst blogger ever. XD

Anywhosit, since I last posted it's been at least two months, and in that time, Christmas break drew to a close and I'm now in the middle of my fourth semester at college. Yayz.

It's amazing how fast college is going. Another two years and I'll be on my last semester. There's a scary thought. What's even scarier is that I was looking at a friend's LEGO magazine today, and it hit me that over a decade has gone by since my most favorite LEGO theme, the Adventurers, first premiered in the LEGO universe.

What a wonderful year 1998 was for LEGO. Adventurers had come out, and with them the first tan pieces came into existence (Pohatu, you're welcome ), and so had the Hydronauts and the Stingrays, the Insectoids were creeping throughout my bedroom, and the Ninjas were cleverly sneaking through traps and stealing treasures.

Ten years later, and my how LEGO has changed. But, I've endured this decade as my nostalgia continues to get the better of me in some cases, and I enjoy many of the more recent sets almost as much as I enjoy the old. The same holds true for BIONICLE. There are BIONICLE sets that through the years I didn't like, and there were those I absolutely love (Vorox FTW!). As 2009 begins, I look forward to the ideas LEGO has in store for the remainder of the BIONICLE storyline, a storyline that captivated me since 2001 and has undoubtedly extended my fandom of a childhood toy which I will always cherish.

Seeing as it is now about 1:30 a.m. in my time zone, I will bid you adieu. Thanks for reading, and if you have free time, check out the new comic I posted in my topic. It's a good 'un!

So, in an earlier blog entry I talked about a journal article one of our professors presented at our department's journal club discussing neutrons in a purely gravitational potential well. Well, I decided to read it and am going to present it to the math and science grad students on Friday because I think it's pretty dang awesome.

Related: Airy functions are weird. And cool. Perhaps I'll discuss them later...

Also, tomorrow spring is here! (If it weren't for ponies, I would not say that with so much excitement.)

I couldn't decide between Chandelure and Volcarona, because they be beastly. I almost put Giratina with Zekrom, but Zekrom has the electric factor going for him, which, if you couldn't tell, I like.

Also, my favorites are very spread among gens. Akano does not play favorites with his generations of Pokémon.

(Gen II all the way! )

I'm at home enjoying the holiday with my family. I hope all of you have the pleasure of doing the same or similar.

For those who don't celebrate Christmas, may you have a wonderful holiday season!

    Another month (or two), another entry. I've been quite distracted from BZPower recently as the college semester draws to a close and finals week is waxing and, finally, waning. I do have some rather nice updates, though, ironically during the time in which I should be studying/working on essays due for my finals. >>;;

My Transformation Part II has been updated with a new chapter, and I highly encourage you read it (since it has not gotten attention for months).

Also, I've updated my comics since the last entry, with Comic 107 being the latest.

In addition to that, my Christmas break begins this weekend, and I'm glad. This weekend looks promising to be really fun, and I hope I can calm down a little after all the stress from finals.
