    I felt depressed so I wrote a poem. None of it is actually related to anything going on with me, it just flowed well.
     
    Masked Feelings

    "A smile is all I need," he said
    While beaming right at me.
    I forced myself, nodding my head.
    "That's what I like to see!"
     
    I slowly found my way right past,
    And sauntered all the way.
    I thought of things that did not last,
    The things that didn't stay.
     
    I dreamt of love, I dreamt of life,
    The goals of human kind.
    Of laughs, love and evening strife,
    The things that weren't mine.
     
    I wandered through my mind's sad haze,
    The broken dreams of you.
    While lost in thoughts and in a daze
    I thought of what was true.
     
    Life is no test it's simply cruel,
    There is no fairness here.
    "And without me you're just a fool,"
    Were tunes upon my ear.
     
    I settled down, slowly returned,
    Into this world of ours.
    The world I left; what wasn't earned,
    I counted down the hours.
     
    "My time is long, but could be short,"
    I looked upon the date.
    The final day to end this sport,
    The day I took my fate.
     

    Optional "Happy Ending" Stanza And so I am, free of my chains,I try my best to boast.
    Now simply free, without my pains,
    I'm just a spooky ghost.

    I changed my avatar for "Summer Showers" because I thought that was a thing. Apparently this isn't true and I got the actual expression, "April showers brings May flowers" wrong. This made me realize that I should've changed my avatar to my current one in April and changed my current one to flowers in May. My wit was too late.
     
    So I propose we make "Summer Showers" a thing. Spread the word, I don't want to be wrong because it should be a legitimate expression!

    Howdy,
     
    Soran here. Apparently I've became a premier member at some point or another. I've got absolutely no idea how that happened. It was just a case of me looking at my comic topic and seeing a symbol underneath my avatar and thinking, "Huh, did I always have that symbol? I wonder what it means…" Then I scrolled down to see what other symbols people had and saw that very few people did. The I remembered that the symbol thing underneath your avatar was something obtained for premiership. And then I scrolled up and saw that I was premier.
     
    Is there some other way of getting premier status besides just buying it or being gifted it? I know that recently I reached 1000 posts, would that at any point give me temporary perks? Recently I also received a boost in proto but I doubt that's it since it wasn't like that in the past.
     
    This is pretty confusing for me. I'm assuming I was gifted it but shouldn't there be a message that pops up that states that you were gifted proto or something similar? If not then there totally should be. Maybe I'll read up on the help topics or something and see what's up.
     
    Anyway, pretty silly first entry. I know though that I'll be taking full advantage of these perks for as long as I've got 'em.

    Howdy,
     
    To all of those that have enjoyed my work, I would like to give my appreciation. At the moment I'm unsure of how the future will work out but for right now, I'm still going on hiatus for the time being. As of late I've been getting caught up in the sweep of life and have had little time to work on my series that I have. Hopefully in due time I'll be able to come back and work on these but for right now I'm still as busy as a bee.

    It is based off of a scene to appear in my comic, "The Road to Home"
    It is based off of an actual BIONICLE Story element.

    There's a clue in the painting as to what it's based off of.

    I got bored tonight and was looking at the status of past topics I used to post on in the COT Sub-Forum. As I was reading through a couple pages of the topic I would glance and see the amount of "Guests" in the topic. At first it was 1. Then it turned to 5, then 9, and it incrementally raised more and more.
     
    I'm aware of this situation, it's happened to me before so I began to be curious how high the number would eventually reach. So I just kept changing the page and glancing at the amount of guests in the topic. My previous personal record was 30-something. The new record blew that one out of the water. There must've been a lot of bored people tonight.

    Failed Poetry

    I was suggested the idea of making more elemental poems, so I decided to give it a shot with making "The Tale of Ice". Didn't work out so well as you can tell from the title. These are all fragments of the poem. Specifically, they were different ways to start it. Here's what I got.
     
     
    Let me tell you a fun, wonderful tale
    of sights to behold beyond this white veil,
     
     
    Mirror, mirror, oh help me find my way.
    Please find me some warmth, and a place to stay.
     
     
    Crystal clear,
    like that of a mirror.
     
     
    Mirror, mirror, oh please tell me the tale;
    of bright white blankets that cover the land.
    Tell me of the sights beyond this white veil,
    Oh please, won't you help me to understand.
     
    Tell me of ice, the coolness of it all,
     
    The stoic blizzard that never will stall.
     
     
    "Mirror, mirror, oh please help me to see
    beyond this white veil, the places I'll be.
    Warn me of the danger, of what's to come,
    find me some shelter before I am numb."
     
     
    "Little one, do not fret, as I am always here.
    Snow is not your enemy; yours is simply fear."
     
    "Its fear of what's to come which causes me to yield,
    Please, mirror, oh mirror, protect me with your shield."
     
     
    I came up with one idea of making a poem based around the Mask of Life's challenge for Matoro in the dark cave, of helping a friend through the dark. Besides this idea and the elements, I've got nothing.
     
    Any of you got any good ideas for a poem surrounding BIONICLE?

    Future Plans

    So I was thinking about the Comic Forum and how dead it is in comparison to how it was in the past and I thought I might do something to possibly help aid it. So here is my possible plan.
     
     
    Comic Studio
     
    Comic studio revolves around helping those interested in getting into comic making. It provides a resource for various different styles that one might wish to partake in.
     
    Sections:
     
    About Comics:
    Simply a comic explaining the concept of comics. Comiception.

    Genres/Types of Comics:
    Goes over different types of comics (Action, Adventure, Comedy, Mystery, CYOA, Ask types) and what's to be expected of each type.

    Characters:
    Goes over how to create a decent character in terms of personality and purpose.

    Comic Effects and Layouts:
    Goes over visual effects, types of writing and comic layouts that are normally not limited by style.

    Styles:
    Goes over the different art styles of comics (Sprite, Hand drawn, Photo Comics, 3d Comics) and what's to be expected of them.

    Tutorials:
    Would consist of tutorials that I would make based off of common things people wish to learn to make. This would be for example, Gimp effects, background tutorials, sprite character creation, setting up a photo scene, etc.

    Gaining Inspiration:
    Mainly is based around ideas and suggestions for those struggling to come up with inspiration.

    The Big No-No's:
    Pointing out the justifiably bad things one can do with each of the styles and how to avoid these.

    Showcase Your Work:
    This would allow others to be able to showcase what they may have learned through the tutorials/process. It's more reserved toward people who most likely don't have a topic to put their comics in.

    So that was more or less one of my my future plans that I might work on. I think it could hopefully be helpful. Tell me what you think about this specific project, anything I should add?

    Simple question.
     
    "How has your life changed in the last decade?"
     
    I'm definitely curious about this as I imagine most people on BZPower to be in their teens or 20's. Growing up into adulthood tends to be an interesting time period for most people as they're faced with confusing situations and feelings, some for the better and some for the worse. Since I imagine most people see their childhood through rose-colored glasses, it makes me wonder as to how those who reflect upon it see theirs.

    For me, it's been... interesting to say the least. In some ways I would say that my life has improved in different ways but at the same time it hasn't. When I was younger I use to take great pleasure in the simplest things. Getting that new Toa set or if I'm lucky, being able to get one of the new titan sets. Being excited every time the LEGO magazine would show up and would have the next BIONICLE comic inside. It was a simpler time.
     
    Right now I would say that I'm not nearly as pleased with the simplest of things. I can afford LEGO sets all I want but I choose not to buy them. I have wants and desires but I have no way to fulfill them. I've so many goals that I wish to complete, many in the long term and so far off into the distance. I've gone through acceptance and denial over situations involved in my life. But the differences aren't all bad. Through growing up, I've been able to realize what it is that I want in my life, whether it's about my career or the type of people I wish to surround myself with. It's interesting so to speak and very... different.

    Here's a question.
     
    "How would you describe yourself?"
     
    I think it's an interesting question so to speak. Many of you know who you are but you may not be able to properly put who you are into words. I know that I have trouble describing the type of person I am. This question is of course asking about describing your character and not your physical appearance.
     
    I would say that I'm a calculated person, I think quickly and I'm rather imaginative. My mind often works faster than my mouth does which can make it troubling for me to properly explain concepts to people face to face while over text it's normally much easier for me. I've always found myself to be a creative person and often times I'm working on a concept of some kind in my head. I'm normally mindful of people and I try to empathize with whatever events or situations are going on in their life. I also am very quick to make connections which might otherwise not exist, which can be detrimental to situations I encounter. I value honesty and respectfulness and I overall try to be a decent person in life.
     
    So what about you?

    Long but good ideas

    So I just came up with a pretty good idea. At least, I think it's good.
     
    It's a play off of my "The Road to Home" series. This time, it's literally a "Choose your own adventure" in the book sense. Your goal would be to make it to the end. It would be a whole collection of posts in a topic which would all link together in some way. So for example:
     
    Post #4 gives you 2 options at the end of it. Option 1 links to post #5 and option 2 links to post #17.
     
    It's literally a giant web. And the idea of it is to, like most "Choose your own adventure" books, keep the main character (Soran) alive to the very end. What this means is that in this comic there is the option of killing Soran. It's a game to keep him alive and home. The world of BIONICLE is a dangerous place and literally the smallest of things could kill Soran. It's all about picking the right options and seeing just how much you can get done in the story.
     
    One topic would be comprised of the entire comic which could theoretically be 500+ comics/posts. Another topic would be the "Review" topic which would be for feedback on the series; did you survive, where did you die, what was your favorite quest, etc.
     
    This to me seems like a brilliant idea. It's also a very time consuming idea because I can't release the comic in installments, it would have to be all at once. So if I get around to doing this, be sure to stay tuned in (probably) 1-2 years.
     
    What do you think of this idea? Good? Bad?

    Muzak Making

    So I've had this one song stuck in my head for well over 3 years. It's a song that I made up myself and I think that it sounds pretty neat. It basically in my mind epitomizes "adventure". I always wanted to make it but the problem is, I'm not musically talented. Can't play an instrument, can't read music, etc.
     
    So I ended up finding one of those music sequencer things online and I decided to give it a go. The sequencer itself is awesome, easy to use and not useful for what I wanted to make. I can't figure out a way to have a note hold, which is troublesome since that's part of this song. So i pretty much submitted to my defeat on that song but I decided to make some other random tunes. These are them, all of them are unnamed except for one.

    Warning: They are all very repetitive.

    The idea I had for the music was related to the TRUTH Series which comes out at 12:00am. I will be making some animations for the series but upon making them I realized that the only method of animation I could use was a gif. This lowers the quality of it. So I came up with the idea of, "What if I just made them videos (webm) instead of a gif?" Then I started thinking that if they were videos I could include things like sound, background music, etc. And then the lazy part of my mind took over and I thought, why would I do that?
     
    So yeah, that's about it. I experimented with making little tunes that sound okay. Enjoy!

    My Avatars

    I felt compelled to make this since almost a year has gone by since I've started changing my avatars seasonally, to the point where every season's avatar has been shown. Because of this, I'd like to reflect on each of them and give some background on them. I'll start from the first made in the current style to my final one.
     

    Original


     



     
    This was the first of its kind and the original one. It's based off of an incomplete drawing of mine which was featuring my character, Soran. Ultimately it didn't end up going well and I scrapped it. You can see the contrast between this one and the future ones, whereas this one is much simpler than the others. All my avatars afterwards were based on it.
     
     

    Winter/Christmas


     



     
    This one is my winter one. I noticed people were making Christmas versions of their avatars by attaching Santa hats to the character in their avatar. I thought that was too simple (and too easy given the placement of my character) so I went with a winter theme instead. This set up the trend of things in the foreground falling around Soran. It also started the light flare across his eyes.
     
     

    Spring/April Showers


     



     
    This one was based off the whole, "April showers bring May flowers," rhyme. This one was the only one to feature the objects actually affecting Soran with the rain bouncing off him. Not nearly as many people noticed the change between the Winter one and this one. It also is apparently comparable to Japanese animes.
     
     

    Summer/May Flowers


     



     
    This one was also inspired by the same rhyme as mentioned earlier. I went with flower petals falling around him. This one I tried to make him look significantly brighter versus the previous ones, which were dreary by comparison. In the event of that though, it seems I might've made him a bit too yellow, which most likely prompted the whole, "Takanuva" spiel.
     
     

    Autumn/Fall


     



     
    I went with falling leaves this time around and with a very "Fall colors" heavy background. With this one I tried to retain Soran's orange color to not repeat the mistake of the previous one. I also went with a moon in the background which is barely visible (but helps connect it to the Winter avatar). This also is the first one featuring a lens flare.
     
     

    Final


     



     
    This one is the only one I haven't used yet. It's going to be the one I use during my eventual retirement from the site. With this particular one, I went with more of a dream-like look as well as a nice sky background behind Soran. It's also the only one (aside from the original) to not feature anything falling in the foreground. This one also employs the lens flare, though the end is barely visible due to the brightness of the bottom. I felt it works best as a final avatar as it works with my character's name the best, Soran D. Skies. Got to end things on a terrible pun.

    So this is each of my avatars. One for the beginning, one for every season, and one for the end. Actually, the final avatar is the most important one listed, the reason is because as soon as I'm sporting that one I'm finished with the site. For as long as I'm not using it, I'll still be thinking of the site no matter if I take a break or disappear.

    Although I like each of them I feel that my favorites are the Original (simply for nostalgia sake), my Fall avatar, and my Final. So I'm curious which ones you guys prefer.

    Need Authors

    I need some people who consider themselves to be pretty fancy authors for a large-scale project. Basically I would need you to create little mini quests/story arcs within the BIONICLE universe. I'm in search of another point of view (or various points of view) regarding storytelling. If any of you are interested either comment down below or send me a PM.
