He might have been able to do it on his own, or he might have used the prototype. We don't know. The Great Spirit Robot was probably powerful enough to do to job by itself, but having two doing the work probably would have made for a more exact and controlled Reformation.

This never seems to get pinned down exactly. I keep hearing sources that the Mata Nui robot could do it himself, and keep hearing sources that it couldn't. I think the Greg sources say that Mata Nui could not do it himself, but I would have to look it up again.

Yeah, I've heard conflicting reports in the past as well… still dunno who to trust on this one :P

  2. Ok, just a quick question: Was there another robot somewhere on Bara Magna? Because (correct me if I'm wrong), wasn't the final step in The Reforming for Mata Nui to leave the MU Robot and inhabit another one, and Makuta and him would reform the planet? Or did the GB's expect Mata Nui to get the Prototype working again?

  3. Well, I didn't sign on the BZP as a member until very recently (though I have followed the site, through ups and downs, for a loooonnnggg time) , but I do spend much more time on this site than I do on Eurobricks… Bionicle was always one of my biggest passions, and Eurobricks doesn't have a community that I can relate to as easily. :D

  4. Well, keep in mind that the inhabitants of the MU were not meant to gain sentience... So even if a Matoran realized that his/her dead comrade randomly showed up a week after he/she died, they theoretically wouldn't have cared. Additionally, since they were not truly alive in the beginning, the GB's probably didn't see it as cruelty, just another way to make sure that Mata Nui always had a good, steady number of workers to maintain him :P

  5. I might be interested in purchasing the toa mata, nuva, bohrok & rahkshi...(excluding Pohatu Mata) but wanted to ask if you have any additional kanohi or krata lying around that would/could be up for sale... Or rahi, for that matter :P

Edit: PM me if needed :P

  6. It seems like there were some "set" shapes put in place by the GB's during Mata Nui's earlier days, and the mask makers expanded on them as time went on… I've always wondered, though, how the evolution of mask shapes took place throughout the MU's history… (like, Lhikan's Hau) is it logical to conclude that more isolated islands in the MU developed shapes for masks that were drastically different than the base designs? It would be cool to see a Toa from a different section of the MU that is more isolated from other islands just to see how his armor, mask, and gear would be different….

  7. Just a quick question about the nature of Legendary Masks… could two simultaneously exist in the mainstream universe? I mean, I've always thought that since they representative of fundamental parts of the MU, they directly correlate with said parts (if everything in the MU unexpectedly died, or if the mask was destroyed, the other be affected), and if two, lets say, Ignika's existed, would it upset the balance of the MU? What if one was destroyed but the other remained? Could the Mask of Creation let Artakha create another Legendary? Just a thought ^_^

  8. I'd like to see a Toa team of an assortment of matoran from Bionicle story arcs...

Kapura, because he was always the most puzzling yet awesome matoran for me

Radiak, as he was apparently a courageous warrior before getting Shadow-Leeched

Midak... seeing him deal with his powers and place on the team with his preference for light would be interesting....

Dalu, especially if she gets a more powerful version of her weapons,

... and anyone else I haven't mentioned from the Chronicler's Company

I think a better idea for a TV Show ( :shrugs:) is the "Mata Nui explores other planets" story. You could do this post-2010 story: All you would need is a couple of GBs to rebuild the Core Processor and a really evil villain to motivate the Matoran to reassemble their bot. Then you could have the robot, with all the characters we know and like, chase this mysterious new villain across the universe to different planets and foil his evil plots. Sets could be made of the inhabitants of the planets they visit, which would be new characters.

The only problem with that would be that it would take a few episodes and maybe a whole season to really get it going, and it might be hard to keep it mysterious through all that, especially since all the old fans will know about the giant robot.

At first I thought this sounded like it was way too grand an idea to have a tv show about, but then you mentioned that it might take a season or half a season to start up, and it reminded me of the original plan for Star Trek Enterprise where the first season or at least its first half would be about the ship being built and the crew getting ready (And the first season would've been way better if they ended up doing that) , and exploring the stars and new civilizations in a nice big spaceship isn't that far off from robots doing the same in an even bigger robot, so I do agree that that would definitely work. Seems like an interesting idea to me ^^

This would've been an interesting undertaking for Lego… the possibilities for tie-ins would be virtually endless as well. Another question could be raised about how the animation would be done… would the more "cartoon approach" like in Young Justice work well with the universe/characters , or would the animation style seen in the Bionicle Movies be more appealing? (I personally would go for movie style, but that's probably just my post-"Mask of Light" nostalgia ^_^ )
