Long ago, in the time before time, there was a Ko-Matoran named Ergus. He lived peacefully on an island to the south of Metru Nui, with his village. The Turaga was always acting as if he had something to hide though. One day, during a massive storm, the Turaga was killed by a strange Rahi, and it was never seen again. Turaga Nachtilus's last words to Ergus were used to impart to him a gift, and a dying wish - That he use the Toa Stone that Ergus was just given in the village's Suva. Nachtilus whispered something to Ergus that he would never forget. After the storm, Ergus climbed the mountain to the Suva, and used the Toa Stone.

He awoke lying on the ground. He was taller, and sound was more amplified than before. He looked at the Suva. Inside was a skyboard with a Midak Skyblaster embedded in the middle, and a long spear. He picked up the spear with his newfound strength and aimed it at a far away tree. It let loose a massive blast of sound and the tree exploded. Ergus read the name on the spear: Toa Spearon.

He was a De-Matoran all along. He picked up his skyblaster and slid down the mountain on it. Landing in the village, the Ko-Matoran demanded to know who he was. He explained that, in the storm, Nachtilus had died, and he was given a Toa Stone. Ergus was now Toa Spearon, and he was to protect the village. He demonstrated his powers, and used the "battery" setting on the spear. It froze his target. He realised that he was not to tell the villagers of his sound powers.

Spearon lived in the village for seven suns, and then thirty. He meditated in the ice caves, and fought the invasions of Muaka and Kane-Ra. And for a moon cycle, he protected the village. And then, from the dark caves under the mountain, a Rahi Nui emerged. An Order ship was on the horizon, but Spearon had already killed the beast.

Being dismissed from his Toa duties, Helryx had told him that the beast was planted on the island, and that they had had to make Spearon lose his Toa rank so he could join the Order: They had a mission for him.

A call went out to every Order member to meet at New Daxia. Lambdi, Toa of Lightning, who was permanently fixed in the form of a Vahki, ripped the Mask of Time off of the Tyrant of Metru Nui as the last Matoran who refused to believe that Mata Nui had died were evacuating. Ahvkuta, Makuta of Light, abandoned his post for the first time in a thousand years to meet the call. At the same time, Tuyet and her apprentice Ahkmou left the Pit 2.0 after Ahvkuta. Rythius, former member of The Hand of Artahka, set off across the Bota Magnan forests, followed by his Glatorian Sponsor, Maskima. Toa Waykell, experimental Kaita without Unity, exited his stasis tube.

But the evils awoke as well. Kojol the Deceiver left his hiding place under the Voya Nui region of the Southern Continent. Makuta Karis, master swordsman, entered Kojol's Jetrax to pick him up from Voya Nui. The Rahkshi Nui burst out of the Archives. Cairdlus and Lunus, the Matoran left behind, used their emergency temporal shift to leave Karda Nui. Merdun's army of Skakdi was left off duty for once as he heard the call. And Tuyet had Ahkmou shoot her with that special Zamor, the one filled with what was left of Teridax's Antidermis.

Angonce nodded. Heremus turned on the Reset Protocol. The Ignika began to glow.
