  1. I was browsing the local Buy & Sell website the other day and managed to pick up a few sets, including the Tower of Toa, for $15. However, upon buying the sets, I noticed something special about the Kanohi in the Tower of Toa (thumbs up added for confirmation/giddiness):

Here's a clearer shot, with the Flat Gold Kraahkan for comparison:

This is definitely the luckiest Bionicle find I've ever had. So I was wondering, what's the best steal of a deal you've found at a local buy&sell/garage sale/etc?

  2.

MrRaves.  That's exactly the kind of thing I want.  Bad copies.  Good copies are good too, but bad copies make me smile.  Do you want a TDGM or some form of metallic green?  I could make metallic red... and the trans-orange miru will probably be back.

Do you know if it'd be possible to make a Trans-Purple Miru? I really admire your purple masks!

  3. Hey Flintsmith,

I have a knockoff Rahaga Iruini set for trade, but I do not know which brand of knockoff it is. Here is a photo of the disassembled pieces:

I originally thought that this was one of the Brick Soldier sets (with the Darth Vader head) and that the green Rahkshi head was a non-knockoff piece, however it does seem to be a knockoff piece.

The green head in the set is the one on the right, with an official Lego black rahkshi head on the left for comparison. So I don't think this set is a Brick Soldier set, but in fact some other knockoff. Let me know if this interests you. (Also your PM inbox seems to be full)
  4.

Shipping from the US, and keeping in line with the current market, I'd be willing to sell it for $10.

    -Ced

Well, that plus shipping might be a bit steep for one mask, even is it is the vahi  :(

Good luck with the selling, anyhow!

    :kakama:

If you're stateside, I can cover shipping.

Also, looking for $5 for the Miru, and $35 for the Trans Hau.

    -Ced

Does Canada count as stateside? If so, I'd like to buy the Vahi.

  5.

I only have the instructions for Hahli, and I'm not sure about the canisters, I'll have to double check. I think I only have Hewkii's canister though.

Are you the original owner of the sets? Are they in good shape?

I am the second owner, but I know the previous owner. He took excellent care of them and all the sets are in good shape. I can send you some pictures if you'd like.

  6. I only have the instructions for Hahli, and I'm not sure about the canisters, I'll have to double check. I think I only have Hewkii's canister though.

  7. Hey, if you're open to international sellers, I have all 6 for sale for $50 CAD. I don't have an accurate shipping price, but generally Canada to US shipping isn't terribly expensive.

  8. - "According to ancient legends, the Mask of Time is actually a fragment of a larger mask: It is the upper half that completes the true mask of time. The protectors do not possess any records or illustrations regarding the lower half of the Mask of Time and are unaware of its location."

    - "Older than Okoto itself, older than our world, older than the stars!"

    - "Legend has it that the ancient name for the Mask of Time was the Vahi, and that it once consisted of two pieces. This piece is the upper half."

    - "The mask can give views… …into faraway realms beyond our imaginations."

I smell an attempt at a possible G1-G2 crossover.

  9. The trans-clear Kaukau's go for around $15+ on bricklink, so I would think $20-ish would be reasonable for a dyed one. All of Flintsmith's masks are really spectacular, especially the trans-purple Kaukau, so I have no doubt you could sell 4 quickly for a decent amount of money. A trans-purple Miru would look really cool too!

When you dye the masks, could you post a topic that covers the dying process? It would be interesting to see the whole process, as well as serve as a reference if others want to try dying their own masks.

  10. I was browsing through my collection of instruction manuals the other day, when I happened to come across a manual for 8592 Turahk. However, this manual had misspelt it as "Tuhrak". It is pictured below, with a regular manual (with correct spelling) for comparison:

    tuhrak.jpg

The misspelt instructions are otherwise identical to the regular instructions. Nothing else is misprinted/misspelt or in the wrong place, and all of the copyrights are in the right place. The paper feels exactly the same as the regular instructions, so I don't think its a knockoff or anything. Did Lego send out a batch of misprinted instructions? Is this rare at all? Does anyone actually care about proper spelling of Bionicle set names anyways?? Let's hear your thoughts!

    Edit:

Just realized I spelt Turahk incorrectly in the topic title *hangs head in shame*

Request to fix spelling error in topic title

  11. Hello everyone,

I’ve been lurking around the forums without an account for a few months now, and decided it was finally time to make an account. I’ve got a large collection up for sale, I’m moving out of my parent’s place so I have to sell a bunch of my stuff. Only the sets are for sale, they do not come with canisters/boxes. The majority do not come with instructions either, however I do have 6 booklets included. I’ve made sure each set contains the exact pieces it originally came with, and that no pieces are broken or of unacceptable quality. All sets are fully assembled.

    FOR SALE:
