  1. So I had a whole discussion on the Duckbricks Discord a month or so ago, and discovered something about the first 2009 powerpoint vs the second & third powerpoint of 2009: If you look at the numbering for the sets for the later-half of 2009, and look for the document with the name Sub IS09 that has the title 2HY, you will find that we were supposed to have 3 "main" new species: Agori, Glatorian and 2HY->links to a document saying 2HY are PraeToa. This is what it says: Sub-brand name for 2HY 2009 PRAETOA or PRETOA Explanation: This name takes its inspiration from the roman soldier called a Praetorian. Soldiers of a special force used by Roman Emperors. Mata Nui could give this name to the group. He would call them and himself “pre Toa” or “what comes before Toa”. None of them are Toa or a hero yet but all have the potential, even the Skrall. The second and third powerpoint are closer to each other in dates and that is where we see the more recognizable Glatorian Legends but with a couple of those Slides removed that were supposed to be for the Praetoa. Looks like Bara Magna was supposed to have a new species that were the first prototype-characters that could become Toa but what we got in the end(and seen in the movie) is that every Glatorian can have "toa powers" and Glatorian Legends is just a title. Of course this was early development but the Agori and Glatorian were kind of final in the first powerpoint we see, so it feels like these 2 were supposed to be more different then all of them being just glatorian. So no, the pictures of these prototypes are not Elemental Lords but maybe the idea came from that with how animal/alien they look.
  2. The tiny/bad quality pictures are from the 2009 Assortment powerpoint, just like many of the Element Lord pictures are and Atakus & Tarduk proto's are from the Glatorian-thornax-game test video. I can't find the Vorox prototype either, which is also from that kind of video so it might indeed have something to do with copyright.
  3. Changed the axle on the longsword as mentioned above and now it has the accurate neck piece(2 pieces glued together in the leaked proto pictures)
  4. A while back, the 2009 prototype pictures leaked to the public. Since I was 3D printing for a while back then, I decided to start modeling & printing the prototype parts and recreating the Prototypes as close as possible. The rules I went by are: 1) Try to be as accurate as possible, but some parts are cut-up so if it is too difficult I would try to either print or use the existing piece. 2) If I can use an official part but it needs to be in an unreleased color, try to do that.(I have been somewhat successful in altering Lego's colors for some pieces) 3) Use the right color for the pieces. 4) Sometimes you have to guess which part it could be, so with feedback from others I will just see what works & looks the best. My first full on recreation, is the Prototype Skrall: - Missing parts: 1) Yellow/Lime head(couldn't get one with the orders I placed 2) Red Hands because the socket is often breakable so I didn't want to order possible broken hands. 3) Tube removed from Sword but if you look closely you can see in the the Leaked Pictures, that is my mistake. 4) Shield has a thin Symbol piece that can be rotated, easier for printing but now you can close the shield fully. 5) Zamor Launcher was too difficult to cut the side off. - Offical Lego but recolored: - Avmatoran Limbs in Mata Red - Barraki Takadox Armor in Black - Barraki Kalmah Armor in Black(printed versions also created) - Zamor Sphere in Trans-Red Other elemental lords are on its way, and you can see one that is almost complete in the background of one of the pictures
  5. Update: I sold the display to someone, so no need to ask if it is for sale 😅
  6. Hello, for 1 year by now, I have been in the possession of a Black Ruru Prototype, and don't see it on the list here. Here are some clear photo's of it:
  7. This is the best I can get when it comes to the pictures of the Rock Monster. Might try to scan it but you can't remove the plastic and the pictures are not very high quality printed 😅 (For its time it is)
  8. Just like the Black Prototype Ruru, this display model appeared on the Dutch version of Ebay a couple of weeks ago. I happen to have a bunch of other display models that are well known(Red Piraka, Kalmah & Mahri Nuparu, Phantoka Lewa & Mistika Tahu and Glatorian Mata Nui), but this time, the Green Rahkshi popped up from soneone that worked at the toy store back in the day.(and since this person gave me the Juli-december 2024 catalog of lego sets, I guess the person still works there.) But that is not all: I also recieved a book with infomation about upcoming sets from 1999 and when certain things are allowed to be shown to the public. It has a bunch of information about thhe release of Rock Raiders in August, first release of Lego star wars from the trilogy, lego trains, and more Lego themes. It talks about promotion of certain themes in other media and things like that. All the pictures wil be down below, all for the community to see how new Lego themes are handled b Toytores(in the Netherlands in this case ofc) I won't be able to translate the book at the moment, because of my study and I am bussy 3D printing Bionicle parts for people, so feel free to translate and share the info from the pictures with other community's!
  9. Yeah that is true. It was a nice behind the scene video that showed a lot of really nice early development and parts but making a Prototype just for that Hafu seems a bit much to me but oh well. Another thing to note: you can see from the Yellow Ruru pictures from 2020 post(if you look really close) that it seems to be made out of the plastic used like the Hau for example(more shiny) and it is the same for my mask. I like the quality plastic of the Prototype Ruru's more than what we got.
  10. More than a week ago, on the Dutch "knock-off" version of E-bay, a Black version of the Prototype Ruru popped up. The Netherlands is a bit known for rare masks to pop-up sometimes, but in my 4 years of constant activity on it, I have never seen a rare or prototype being sold. I was well aware of the existence of the Yellow and Green Ruru(2 Yellow prototypes are known to exist to my knownledge), but never would expect a Black one to be in someones lot. The seller got it through buying a lot and contacted some people from the Bionicle Community to see if it was a real Prototype and now that I recieved it yesterday, I can also confirm with the 2020 post of the Sand Tarakava and other the pictures of the Green Ruru that mine is indeed a real prototype. The seller was afraid it would get lost in the mail if he would ship it to another country, that is why it was being sold in the Netherlands. Heck, over the last year I got big and small packages that just disappeared never to be seen again and even though I(as a buyer) or the buyers(that I send to) got their money back, we didn't want that to happen to an item like this so we had to insure the shipping and get it check to see if it is a real Prototype lego part.(Shipping companies are afraid of insurgence fraud, blah blah blah you get the point ) And here are some other pictures of it: To easily compare mine with other known Ruru Prototypes: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For compairing purposes -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to the collection But now a few big question remain: why a Black Ruru Prototype? Why is there are Black Ruru European Misprint and now also a Prototype Version of it? I know a Red Ruru came with the Clock but what was Lego plainning with these masks anyway? I heard rumours that the Matatu was originally suppose to be a Toa mask but those are just rumours anyway.... And of course I have seen the picture with all the Mask Pack masks were you see the Kaukau misprints, ruru and matatu misprints.
  11. Thing is: the one with so called weird markings. has a few more details than the other one and the ones I see online. Mine that is the same as the ones online, is scratched when vieuwed under light so the standard has less quality? I don't think they changed the mold when they went to Only Gold since the Gold Kraahkan still has the same mold for as far as I can see online.(Check new photo)
  12. During the pandemic, I bought 2 Dark Pearl Gold Kraahkans and when I got them, one was a bit more greenish/darker than the other. In the pictures, you can also see that there are slight differences when it comes to the mold for some reason.(Small triangle below the eyes, eye brow from the side is way more visable) Anybody knows what is going on here?
