    The recent issue of Famitsu revealed some more information about The World Ends With You -LIVE Remix-. The game will be for iOS and Android devices and takes place in a parallel universe, similar to the Another Day bonus chapter in the original game. Players will be divided into teams of 20 and hunt down "Ringleader Noise" in order to earn points for the end of the week. Sounds like it won't have a lot of story to it.
    Oh, but they did mention the new character. They're calling her "Atarashi Koko," or "New Kid," and apparently she acts as some sort of guide.
    (Personally, I think I'll keep calling her Live-chan.)
     
    Hm, I should probably say something about Disney buying Lucasfilm, huh? Well, being the pessimist that I am, I wouldn't say that I'm thrilled, but I'm going to try and keep quiet until we actually see how they handle it.
    (Also this makes it possible for Star Wars to be in Kingdom Hearts. Star Wars is veeeery popular in Japan...)
     
    On to something else I hope to see in future Kingdom Hearts games: Wreck-It Ralph. I went to see it yesterday and was quite pleased. The movie plot itself was well-done, and they topped it off with hundreds of video game references and cameos. I'm sure I missed some, but I laughed at the ones I did catch--the entire theater roared to life when we saw the Konami Code. I can't say a whole lot without spoilers, but it's a great movie and I recommend you go see it.
     
    Side note on Muramasa Vita: it looks like the new playable characters will have "new features," which I hope means new gameplay features. Definitely looking forward to this!

    The new Technic Coliseum Tournament starts in a week, so I've officially opened registration. This time around, all fighters are going to be using the basic stat total (48), but you can rearrange the stats any way you want. This was suggested a while back, but with my memory I can't quite remember who it was, ahaha...
     
    Anywho, this is a test run. I'll get some feedback after the Tournament and see where we go from there.
     
    In other news, I finally put together a story focusing on Orkahm! Jumping Off of a Perfectly Fine Gukko is set on Mata Nui rather than Metru Nui, and ended up being a lot kinder to Orkahm than the other Heretic Stories. Also, treespeak is so bloody obnoxious. This fills my minimum quota (one story per Great Disk Matoran), but I may write more in the future. If nothing else, it's a theme I'll probably have in mind while thinking up FFFC entries, so more stories are rather likely.
     
    Related: I did a little more work on Chronicle of Heresy. I have four complete chapters and a tentative plan going forward, so I may actually get it done within 2014! Who knows. You can't rush these things, you know!

    Because I woke up today and decided "you know what forget homework I'm going to write a nearly 4,000 word essay about a fictional weapon."
     
    ...It seemed like a good idea at the time.
     
    Anyway, like the title says, it's me rambling about the Keyblade and how I assume it to work, plus a few mini-theories sprinkled throughout. It does contain a lot of spoilers, and some of the jargon and situations referenced aren't fully elaborated on so it might not make complete sense if you're unfamiliar with Kingdom Hearts. (I mean it might not even make complete sense if you are familiar with it but you know what I mean.)
     
    So yeah, that's my contribution to the world for today, maybe tomorrow I'll do something that actually benefits society!

    So it looks like those rumors about the region being based on Hawaii are true! Alola looks kind of small, though.
     
    The starters all look great, but Rowlet is clearly the best choice. It’s an adorabird! You must choose the adorabird!
     
    Sun lion and moon bat both look pretty interesting. Not entirely sure at this point since we don’t have types and such, but I think I’m leaning Sun at the moment.

    Let’s see, what did I accomplish on this site in the past year?
    -Became Premier Outstanding BZP Citizen (thank you Windrider!)
    -Wrote a few miscellaneous short stories (and a one-shot comedy)
    -Finished Shooting Star Sonia, the biggest story I’ve finished in a while, and more recently started the sequel
    -Started Beyond Ruin, which might be helping me inch towards that novel I’ve claimed to be working on for several years now. Maybe.
    -Ran Technic Tournaments 2-4, seeing the rise and fall of Pridak (rot in pieces)
    -Horribly mismanaged an entry in a G&T contest (I’m sorry to everyone who played The Great Career Fair)
    -Ran Slizer Dome, which I’m planning a follow-up to
    -Currently stumbling my way through hosting a Mafia game for the first time!
     
    Not too shabby, I think! Let’s see what I can get up to before I hit 13 and have to make a tired Kingdom Hearts joke!

    Today my teacher was telling us about how the Japanese eat sea cucumbers. It came up because a sea cucumber dish was used on a worksheet we were doing, you see we were practicing a new grammar where yadda yadda never mind.
     
    One of my classmates (surprisingly it was not me) said that sea cucumbers just made her think of Spongebob, particularly the one episode with a sea cucumber who was a jerk.
     
    I'm probably paraphrasing a bit, but my teacher's response to hearing about this jerk of a sea cucumber was "Well, we can eat him."
     
    I feel like things escalated very quickly there but I'm okay with it.

    My next semester is starting up soon. Originally I had intended to have a rough draft of my novel Divine Strength done by now, but that definitely did not happen. At least the realization helped me kick myself into making some more progress.
     
    Part of that has involved me repeatedly posting about it on Tumblr, and answering some questions people have had about it on that website. I’ve shared a rough map of the story’s setting (it is by no means art, just there for reference), posted the names I’ve come up with for eight of the eleven queendoms, and with some help, have at least tentative emblems for all twelve Queens. I’ve also posted a few more story excerpts, and a few other miscellaneous bits of info. If anyone wants to peruse all this, you can check out the “Divine Strength” tag on my Tumblr blog, found here. It’s recently been sorted for easier access, details are over there.
     
    I’ve just begun Chapter 5, and I’m rapidly approaching the point where my short stories left off. It’ll be interesting to see what I can come up with next, but I think I’ll be able to get together something decent. My new goal is to get a draft done by the end of 2014. If I can do that, then I can edit and whatnot in 2015 and maybe work up some courage to try to find a publisher by, oh…2020.
     
    …That was a joke.
     
    I do need to find a way to fake confidence and not be crushed by rejection, at least. But, I have time—I have no idea how long this story is going to run, but this plot surely has a reasonable number of chapters left in it. One idea I’m toying with is going back and adding in chapters from the point of view of other Queens during the early chapters. We’ve been exclusively following the Queen of Light thus far, and I want to give them all at least some spotlight. Though, that could complicate things, adding in additional plotlines that pile up and make it really confusing…well, hopefully not. If nothing else, I know I want to do something from the point of view of the Queen of War later—I have a particular scene in mind that I think will be important in defining her character. Also what I’m envisioning looks cool.
     
    Anyway, I shall continue working. Slowly.

    Almost There...!

    After my long service in Cornelia, I was regrettably cast into the Void once again, ending up in a digital world of computer programs. Still, this is another world I am familiar with, and I have used that knowledge to modify the programing that now makes up my body, amplifying my strength to become Guts Style Pahrak!
     
    But anyway, Sekai Final Stretch is going strong! We're now at 147 chapters, and I did some calculations--if I can keep to my plans, Sekai should be complete about mid-November! I've been doing a lot of double-features lately, but once we get to 153 it'll mainly be one chapter a day on to the end, so be prepared for things to slow down and become more suspenseful. SUSPENSE!!
     
    Ahem...admittedly, there's still quite a bit of work left to do on the Spirit Index. I'll do my best to get it up as soon as I can, but it's probably going to take a while.
     
    Also, I believe I mentioned a new Bioni-Lords project recently? I shall reveal that soon, on this very blog...hopefully.
     
    Forgotten Bond is 50% typed! I may be able to start posting it soon after Sekai is complete.
     
    I'm also thinking of throwing some MoCs up in the BBC forum sometime soon, if anyone's interested. If I do, I'll put a link here.

    Holy wow. So we’ve got two new trailers for USUM, one that’s really dramatic and awesome (and in Japanese), and
    that’s highly informative (in English). 
    Ha…where do I start?
     
    -It looks like Necrozma’s goal is to steal light from the world. There’s a new area you can travel to where apparently it did just that, and it seems to be the gist of what’s going on in the dramatic trailer. Would also explain why it wants to absorb Solgaleo and Lunala.
    -So, where is this lightless world, you ask? In Ultra Space. We get footage of the player riding Solgaleo and Lunala through a dimensional tunnel and into portals, ending up in places like the lightless city (which really gives me The World That Never Was vibes, I dig it) and a variety of habitats where the Ultra Beasts appear. I’m 90% sure this means that the post-game for USUM is all about charting Ultra Space and catching the Ultra Beasts there rather than them appearing across Alola one at a time. Which is awesome.
    -The city is inhabited by a group calling themselves the Ultra Recon Squad. Two different members appear in each version, and since they don’t seem to do much to stop you from entering their city, I’m led to believe we’re on good terms with them, but we do have to fight them at some point it looks like. Who knows.
    -So, the new Ultra Beasts! Burst is Fire Ghost and has a new move called Mind Blown, where it chucks its head at the enemy and it explodes, dealing some recoil. Okay. Assembly is Rock/Steel. There’s also a brand new Ultra Beast known as Adhesive, seen in possession of the Ultra Recon Squad. The design looks a bit different from the others, but I rather like it. It’s a Poison type.
     
    This all looks very promising. I mean, I was already pretty excited for these, and now we’re getting into some real good stuff. I better get a head start on anything I want to get accomplish this year because once I get these games I might not resurface for a while…

    There’s been a decent batch of new reveals for Pokemon Sun and Moon over the past few days! Let me see if I can round it all up.
     
    Before we get to that though, we have a window for Volcanion’s US distribution! We’ll be hitting 721 in October, and it’ll be a GameStop event. So I’ll have a complete Dex for about a month! Cool!
     
    Anyway,there have been several new Pokemon revealed:
    -A family of two Ghost/Ground Pokemon, one a mound of sand and the evolution being a sand castle, English names not currently available. Seems a little silly…though it does include an image of the sand castle Pokemon freaking devouring a Pikachu, so there’s that.
    -Bewear has a pre-evolution, but I don’t really be-care-ing.
    -A new fish named Wishiwashi, with an interesting ability. Apparently, when it reaches a certain level, it transforms from one fish into a school of fish shaped like one massive fish, but will revert when enough damage is taken. It sounds sort of like evolution done in a new way, which sounds really interesting!
    -There’s also Pewkumuku Pyukumuku, a…thing…that extends its insides out of its mouth…to use as a fist…? And its ability deals damage upon being knocked out. This is weird, right?
    -There’s also the Grass/Fairy Pokemon Morelull, but it doesn’t really do anything to stand out. It’s just kinda there.
     
    Plus, a few new Alola Forms!
    -Alolan Meowth is Dark type and can have Technician or Pickup, just like regular Meowth. Seeing as it’s basically Team Rocket’s mascot, Dark makes sense, though it does seem just a tad redundant with Purrloin. It’s even purple.
    -There had been a hint that Alolan Marowak would be Fire type. It is now revealed to be Fire/Ghost (HAHA). It has darker skin and its body and limbs are a little thinner (the only thing about this design I’m unsure about), and its bone has two green-blue flames on the ends, making it look like a fire dancer. It looks super-rad and I kinda want one.
    -And then there’s Alolan Raichu! It’s Electric/Psychic and uses its tail as a surfboard…so I’m not sure why it isn’t part Water, but still pretty cool. It has a new ability called Surge Surfer that doubles its speed when Electric Terrain is active.
     
    Lastly, we’re starting to see the villainous team: Team Skull! They are dark and edgy. There is a scene where the boss talks to Kukui and says something about them failing to become Trial Captains, though, and that sounds like something that could be worth looking forward to. And on a smaller note, it appears that some of them use different types of Poke Balls, meaning there might be some variety in the balls we see NPCs using. If that interests you.
     
    Alolan Marowak is the stand-out for me, though Alolan Raichu is also rad. Can’t wait to see more!

    I have family flying in from Australia this weekend, so I may not have time to get online tomorrow. So, I decided to post Bioni-Lords Book 3: Kako Preview 2 early! I'm trying out a different writing style in this one--I recently read The House of the Seven Gables, so I think I'm going to subconciously try to imitate it for a while...it'll really come through in Preview 5. Anyway, this preview is a meeting of Element-Lords: old favorites like Norscu and Aile, and we also get another look at Avanda! Also, we finally get to see Zempyst, and two all-new characters: Cerveau and Vitirus (vai-tuh-russ)!
     
    Also, I posted another ZMoC topic, this one with self-MoCs--Exo-Zadakh, Hapori Zadakh, Exo-Pahrak, and Exo-Pahrak Kal Titan, some of which may be tied to Bioni-Lords. I know they're not all that great, but I wanted to get them online anyway.
     
    I've made some real progress with the new Spirits--there's only another handful that I need to get on paper, and then I'll start putting them on the new Spirit Index. After that, you guys finally get the link!

    This question has plagued the worlds' greatest* minds for decades, but fret not! At last, we have an answer!
     

     
    This is Super Saiyan 3 if you want to be technical. Either way, the question is answered!! If you don't have hair, then your beard gets gold and spiky!
     
    ...Although...what if you were bald...and didn't have any facial hair?!
     
    Hm, perhaps the quest for knowledge is neverending after all...

    Also you can reserve a spot in the comments if you want. You can even put together a profile now if you’d like, or you can just put down your name and wait until the topic is live to do the profile.
     
    For the profile: you have 13 points to distribute between the four methods of promotion, and each line has a bonus for certain promotions. If you promote a fighter using the method their line is tied to with the below affinities, you will have a greater chance of success, but if you use a different method, you’ll make more Widgets if you do succeed.
     
    -TV Commercial works best for Bionicle (both G1 and G2)
    -Radio Ad works best for Hero Factory and Knights Kingdom
    -Internet Campaign works best for RoboRiders and Exo-Force
    -Magazine Ad works best for Slizers and Galidor

    You may remember this idea I've been going on about involving magic Queens and all? I'm thinking the title of this story will be "Divine Strength", though that's subject to change. But more to the point, I've made a rough draft of a prologue I might use for it.
     
    ...But, it's rather long. If anyone's skimming the blogs here in dashboard format, they'd really hate me if I posted the whole thing here. So, instead, I'm going to give a link to the Tumblr post. You can find the prologue here.
     
    It takes place a few decades before the main plot, and introduces the villain who sets everything off and the (previous) Queen of Light. I will definitely be editing it at a later date, but if you could provide me with some feedback on the current draft, it'd really help me know what to edit. If you have comments, you can either contact me here or on Tumblr--either's fine. I'd be very grateful for the help!

    Ladies (wait, women don't read my stories...) and gentlemen, I present to you...Bioni-Lords Book 3: Kako Preview 1! This gives us a glimpse at a handful of the main characters--the ones you expect (Genakex, Xyla, and Kytan), along with a new face: Tahra Vakar! Tahra is the daughter of a retired Fire-Lord, and will join the group when they're about to leave Ta-Isle. As you'd expect, she's a Fire specialist, and yes, she does have a bit of a temper. I thought Tahra might give us a new perspective on sexism in the Bioni-Lords world: a female heir to a male Element. We've mentioned Rikka trying to become Ice-Lord and the possibility of Twani being Earth-Lord, but we never looked at how anyone might react to that. So the question will be, even though she's the daughter of a Fire-Lord, is Tahra's claim to the title of Fire-Lord illigitimate because Fire is a male Element?
     
    Also, I've posted a new MoC: Vapor 2.0! In case you're wondering why he's labeled "ZMoC-12," it's because I recently decided to start giving numbers to my new MoCs as a way of keeping them organized, and Vapor 2.0 is the thirteenth MoC made since I started this system. (There's a ZMoC-00.) I'm hoping to post the rest of the ZMoCs soon, and I'll put the links right here! (Well, actually, the BionicleKeyblade MoC in the Sekai Review Topic is ZMoC-03, so I won't be reposting that.)
     
    No new progress on Forgotten Bond, but there is news on the new Spirit Index! The new Index has been entirely re-color-coded, and I've also extended the list to 1331! However...I have just under 40 Spirits that others have submitted to me, and I want to get them online before I provide the link to the new Index. I'll be as quick as I can, but I have some school projects I need to work on right now. The semester's just about over, so I should be able to get back to work about mid next week.
     
    On the topic of websites, Exo's Desk V2 has been updated! On the front page, along with a list of updates, is a list of updates I hope to make in the future--probably before Book 3 starts, but I want to finish Forgotten Bond and the new Index before I get to these.
     
    Also, I'm working on a Christmas Special! No, this won't be a Bioni-Lords story, although Stained Glass Inmacula makes an appearance and Khadaz is mentioned. The main characters will be Exo-Zadakh (in the style of his ZMoC-00 version, which will be up soon), Guts Style Pahrak, and Exo-Panrahk, and they will be doing their best to remind people what Christmas is actually about...but as you can imagine, that's not likely.
     
    Once I get done with these projects, I should be able to get a load of content up during December! Kako Previews, ZMoCs, website updates, a Christmas Special, and Forgotten Bond typing (although it probably won't be posted until January)! I'm looking forward to it, and I hope you are too!

    So earlier I was working on stuff for my possible novel-type thing Divine Strength, and, well…
     
    I’m thinking I might cut a few of the Queens?
     
    See, right now I have 12 Queens and 11 queendoms. Through feedback I’ve gotten in the Fiction Writing classes I’ve presented the idea in, some people have said that’s a bit much, and that some of the Queens might not really fit. (They also say they need normal names but I’m holding out on that one.) I was working on some new short pieces today and I thought, maybe I should actually do that?
     
    The Queens on the block are Music, Time, and Gravity. Time I’m thinking could be used in a larger role if I ever make a sequel or something, and Music has no characteristics and is a lesser known element so could easily be pushed back into the hypothetical future. Gravity is something people have called anachronistic, and while I’d like to keep gravity magic, I guess I don’t really need it. Of course, the Queen of Gravity is integral to the story, but I’m thinking I could essentially merge her with the Queen of the Sky, who doesn’t have any traits yet. Basically the character I’m currently calling Gravity would be renamed Sky, her magic would be switched, and gravity magic and the former Sky queendom get scrapped. This then makes the Queen of the Sky and the Queen of the Land married and jointly ruing the queendom of Roche, which feels like a weird pairing of elements at first but might fit thematically with the Queens being a combination of humans (the land) and goddesses (the sky)?
     
    Anyway that would take us to 9 Queens and 8 queendoms, which sounds more manageable and leaves me with fewer Queens who are currently hanging in the background of the plot.
     
    Big decisions like this are tough for me. Does anyone have any food for thought they might want to throw at me?
     
    (Also I am aware I didn’t finish any of those stories I said I would post over break, break got away from me and I’m sorry, I’ll do my best to get them out soon and I swear this is related.)

    Dramatic Personal Life Nonsense You Should Really Just Ignore

    Sundays are awful. Closing is awful. Closing on Sundays is awful enough, but then someone calls in 20 minutes before we close saying they want a catering order for tomorrow at 11:30 AM, we call the caterer at home and she says she’ll do it, and we end up having to stay late to cut 12 pounds of meat and cheese for this idiot, and I’m just not entirely sure how to put my current emotion into words. Certainly not BZP-appropriate words.

    On that note there’s a slight chance a customer heard me mumbling curses so who knows I might be fired! I mean, I talked to tonight’s closing manager before I left and he didn’t say anything, so maybe they didn’t report me and I can keep my job, but either way I’m a horrible person and I sort of do hope they fire me!

    Aaaanyway

    You’re probably thinking “If you hate your job, you should look for a new one.” That’s a logical response, that’s what a person should probably be doing in this situation. For some reason I just haven’t been able to kick myself hard enough to do that yet. Probably that all-consuming feeling that life is totally meaningless, but I know that that’s never going away, haha!

    What’s a good way to waste time? I might still have up to fifty years to go and I kind of just want to check out until I can clock out.

    For all the ridiculous nonsense in Kingdom Hears, it strikes me that people don't talk about Space Paranoids that much.
     
    I mean the simple fact that a game in 05/06 used Tron, from 1982, as a world is weird enough, not to mention that it's a world inside a world, but when you get there, Tron says that it is a copy of the original.
     
    Think about that for a minute. Ansem the Wise got onto ENCOM's servers (apparently in the early 80s), saw the Tron world there, and then decided to just copy-paste the entire thing into the Radiant Garden computer system.
     
    And then nobody even knew it was there, had any interaction with it, or tried to update it at all for at least eleven years, maybe more.
     
    Then Goofy, Donald Duck, and an anime kid with a giant key just show up and become Tron's best friends and ram Light Cycles into Heartless.
     
    Why don't we talk more about this?

    In Our Bones, The Fourth Break, is live!
     
    I wasn’t sure if I was going to make this story four or five parts, but the ending scenario ended up being so long that I decided to split it. As a result, this chapter is a little on the shorter side, so sorry about that. The main focus here is on the Skull Slicer, shedding a little light on what he’s been up to in the background of this story and setting up for the conflict that’s going to arise in The Final Break. It also serves to explain a connection to The Time of the Mask Makers, though it’s not made especially obvious here and I’ll probably clarify in a later story just to be safe.
     
    Next week is the finale!

    G1 is dead. It’s deader than dead, deader than a doornail, super duper mega ultra permanently dead.
     
    Yet there remain a few who disagree.
     
    Tahu has been given great news: Lego wants to reboot Bionicle in 2015! However, there’s a problem. A few characters have been trapped in the dead G1 Universe, possessed and corrupted by the negativity of fans refusing to let go of the story they used to know. As long as they remain there, Lego is unable to reincarnate anybody into the G2 Universe, so Tahu is tasked with returning to the lost world of G1, saving the afflicted characters, and securing Bionicle’s chance at a new life.
     
    Will he be able to save those stuck in G1? What will he learn in his journey through the past and into the future? And these magic boots might protect him and all, but don’t they at least come in a different color than silver?
     
    Seriously, anything but silver would be nice.

    Spoiler alert: No, the boots only come in silver. We’re not off to a great start.

    Velika’s assault on Bitil’s outpost continues, and his new method of attack proves quite devastating. Zaekura is hard at work on her plan, but even if she can pull it off, there’s still the question of if the others can hold out until it’s ready.
     
    Hopefully Section IX won’t take as long…

    On April 23rd, an elite group of members will be executing a simultaneous name change to celebrate the release of the game Bravely Second.
