It's an expanded version of BF2, with at least six classes for each of the four sides that are playable on the original maps. Each side has almost completely different weapons. For instance, the main weapon of the Clone Engineer is a shotgun, and the main weapon of the Droid Engineer is a grenade launcher.
BFX stands for Battle Front Extreme.
