  1. As much as it was liked, Bionicle G1 was a stroke of luck with good sets, lot of books and mass marketing when kids were reading books. This new age main audience of kids are video games and social media.

It will be hard to get people to notice Bionicle as a big player in toy industry compared to star wars pokemon and other toys.

  2. Hello new people. I recently purchased bag #3 of set 8593 Makuta from eBay. I bought it since I saw in the official online instructions for the set that the section where you open bag #3 contained the pieces to build Makuta's arms, lance, and included his infamous mask of shadow;s. Well, I get the bag, open it, and find 2 Kanohi Avohkii, the pieces for the arms, lance, and no Kanohi Kraahkan? I also noticed that the bag did not contain any small technic pieces like axels and such. To anyone who bought/had this set, was the Kanohi Kraakhan not in the 3rd bag? or was it not included in neither bag 1 or 2 and just floating inside the box?

    cheers.

If sets are missing parts i'd ask the seller for a refund

  3. I’m not sure Teridax was crazy. He was able to plan things out logically, and in the long run, things generally worked out for him.

He's more ambitious and clever. Add in a lot of patience, arrogance, boasting and  gloating instead of insanity. Not unstable at all.

His main flaw was that he did not foresee the flaw of having Rahkshi from his makuta essence linked to his mind and using rahi control instead.

When Tahu incinerated them with the golden armor effect it caused him intense pain, giving Mata Nui the window of opportunity needed to knock him into the meteor despite the Prototype Universe Robot being inferior.

Also we have this quote from him

Little Toa, you have not yet begun to see even the barest outlines of my plans. I have schemes within schemes that would boggle your feeble mind. You may counter one, but there are a thousand more of which you know nothing. Even my ... setbacks ... are planned for, and so I shall win in the end.

  4. I would say it hurts the value as someone who wants the old Tahu Mata set would want the original black sockets instead of the more brittle redesigned ones from 2009.

What Takanuinuva said. However, if the old-style black sockets were used, no one would know the difference, even if those particular pieces came from a different set.

Yes the differences are rather slight other than the obvious gap removal and trimmed edges. Also balljoints wear down with age, different joints from different years might slightly affect how much 0.1% they're wearing down.

    • 2010: Stormer Bulk and Srringer had a horrible thing in common hollowed out weapon arms.

    • 2011: No complains but the heroes are rather small and generic.

    • 2012: heroes being left out of the roster. Didn't like the Rhino motif for stormer a white tiger would've been better

    • 2013: Breakout was amazing, but the cliffhanger was wasted

    • 2014: Invasion from Below. Too many things went wrong...the minifigs in particular with restrictive chest armor.

  5. The main issue is they had inconsistencies, lackluster villain sets and Invasion From Below was a terrible experiment for Battle Mechs, it did not look ok how the hero's were getting even more humanoid eyes under the removeable helmets in the episode.

Lack of Villain Factory not being used just really kiled it, IFB should have come after Villain Factory

  6. Well, certainly not Carapar :D

    :kakama:

On the contrary those viking spikes on his head are sharp but the toy would break before you can feel them on his head.

Takanuva's mask is spiky upside down, there's a reason the makuta set uses them as silver claws.

However Ehlek's head thats something i dont want to step on. Visorak head could be considered painful... Vohtarak has twin spikes on head carapace (red one)

  7. Hi, guys! :) When you have Bionicle sets, you ever considered encountered something sharp from the sets? For me, the Bohrok eyes and the Fenrakk teeth are sharp. So does the pointy spike thing in some G2 that form Umarak the Destroyer’s fingers. I lost at the Bohrok eyes and the Fenrakk teeth the sharpest.

    What about you guys?

Almost forgot about Fenrakk. That tooth pattern made from bohrok eyes is a a surefire way to get hurt if your're not careful. I always kept mine closed.

  8. A  tv series would be the best option but my wishes are.

    • Its only G1
    • Not restricted to subscriptions like Netflix, make it as accessible as possible for all audiences
    • No Lego Movie humor, none  of it. Only the established humor from the books and comics.
    • Not in the art style of miramax or the jourmey to one (never liked miramax and the journey to one had rather grainy cgi models)
    • Cover all most of the relevant books and years and web serials to make a cohesive story
  9. According to Biosector01, Artakha made the Great Disks, and they where likely designed by the Great Beings and written into the Destiny of the Matoran Universe, thinkin

Forgot about that, he must have had it in his supplies. Later he forgot he made them and was too lazy to care about crafting anything out of them it, thinking they would never be needed so he had  OoMN scatter the disks for him.

Still i wonder if the mask had greater potential  if it had been made by Artakha since he has more intricate knowledge compared to a Toa who was under a lot of stress.

  10. it's probably obvious that masks are only as good as it source.

ignika= crafted by the great beings as a experiment, later repurposed as a source of life/jumpstarter since mata nui essentially is living machine

mask of creation= given to artakha by the great to be responsible for the infinite source of creative thinking for the universe

vakama was a simple inhabitant who was a crafter, no one knows if who created the disks or who planted them. and we don't  know if vakama had the right skill to make the progress into a actual great mask as with if a great being had created the vahi

  11. one of my ideas would be a mask of paralysis and provides limited invisibility for confusion/ fleeing, works well for crowd control too .but it is not like turning into a stone statue

it does not need a concentrated mental link but the downside is that the duration of paralysis effect depends on the user and how powerful the enemy is.

I think the title is self-explanatory, but I'll sat it again, what Kanohi would you like to have seen in Bionicle?

For me the only thing I can think of right now is a mask of redirection, Great can redirect any flying projectile anywhere in your field of view, while the Noble only redirects projectiles that are flying at you. All redirections are random.

there is a mask fits the bill, called kanohi crast mask of repulsion. makuta krika from 2008 wore it https://biosector01.com/wiki/CrastKanohi_Crast_Small.PNG
