  1. There was a Hero Factory RPG shortly before the downtime that seemed to be doing pretty well for the single week it existed. I'd say your chances are probably good.
  2. OOC: Okay, now I'm just confused as to where this Stromling army is, given that, in the process of setting up the ziplines, agents have already been to the other side of the crevasse. Are you implying that they are holding back, or is Trigger overestimating?Either way, it seems that logic and rational thought mean very little to him. IC: "Well then," Hotwire interjected, "I suppose you'd suggest we take out their source of power, which requires going over on grappling hooks. Which, by your account, is futile." Trigger glared, and Hotwire removed his hat in mock veneration. "I bow to your vastly superior powers of reason.""Look, kid," the mercenary growled. "All I'm suggesting is--""Don't 'kid' me," Hotwire snapped back. "I have had one rotten 4+ of a day, and to be perfectly frank I don't give a flying znap whether I'll still be alive at the end of it so long as I know there are people fighting for the safety of this planet. And as such, your portentous oracles of doom do nothing to deter me."
  3. IC: Hotwire was beginning to realize he didn't like this Trigger fellow very much."This is the survival of the planet we're talking about here," he said exasperatedly. "Not survival of the individual. Every single one of us is living on borrowed time, and we understood that when we signed up for this team. If all you're here to do is grumble prophecies of doom, then please do us a favor and run away until you find someplace 'safe.' There aren't very many of those left anymore, so you'd best have some superhuman stamina."
  4. OOC: I'm sorry, I just had to get a comeback in here. IC: "Have I ever fought a Stromling?" Hotwire said. "Hmm, let's see. Why don't you go find the rest of my left leg and ask it that question?"
  5. OOC: I've been considering it, and trying to come up with a character, but at the moment most of my creative energies are being spent brainstorming with Zero Makuta for the Lego Universe RPG. In short, I might join, but I can't make any promises at this point.Replacing my previous IC...IC: "That may be true," said Hotwire, limping up to the three agents on the cliff's edge, "but somebody's gotta walk into it."The man who called himself Trigger turned and cocked an eyebrow. "And I suppose you're going to be on the front lines? Fantastic. The fate of the world in the hands of a team of cripples. But at least you don't need someone else to push you about like a baby in a stroller."Hotwire bristled at the slight towards Rex, but forced himself to let it go. Now was not the time for an argument. "Look, all I'm saying is that we've been in situations just this bad before. Where were you when Quadrant 14 blew? Or when Antarctica was engulfed by riots? Or when LEGO Island was wiped completely off the map? Too busy standing off on the sidelines, shaking your head at the poor fools walking into a deathtrap? I'll bet. I try to keep myself up-to-date on the DA database, and I've never seen you in there anywhere. So don't strut in here and assume you know what's best, because the world needs people who are willing to walk into deathtraps. The only thing that's different now is that we know what we're getting into."Helm hopped down out of the Fire Hammer and walked over. "Come on," he said to Hotwire. "Don't wear yourself out preemptively. Osprey asked me to report back when we arrived."
  6. I like the idea of Alpha Team and the Agents working together the way you described it -- with Agents being more public and Alpha Team completely under the radar, as opposed to the two groups trying to do the same thing, as in the DARPG and the last Alpha Team RPG.
  7. OOC: Oh, oops. I got the impression from your last IC that Semick, Rockford, and Osprey were all in the same physical location. I'll try to come up with a way to fix my post.
  8. OOC: From my point of view, Brikman, we seem to be entering an era of freedom and equality in which anyone and their goldfish can can be a picture-taker-er. The fact that Nura and myself were the only ones doing so in 2005 and 2009, respectively, is no reason to expect that guy to build everyone. :Pavmatoran, I couldn't help but notice that the rules in your Alien Conquest RPG limit Rookie Agents to Steel Sprinters...IC: Helm and Hotwire disembarked from the Fire Hammer when they noticed Semick, Rockford, and Osprey a short distance away. Hotwire managed to limp along mostly unsupported. Think I might be getting the hang of this, he thought.Semick turned. "Hotwire. Holding up all right?""Improving, I hope," Hotwire responded. He nodded to Rockford and Osprey. "I was thinking, seeing as we don't know how much of the forces from the Pharaoh's ruins are still out there, that perhaps we should set up a guard over the bridge and ziplines."Rockford frowned. "We'll need as much of our strength in that temple as we can get.""He may have a point," Semick said thoughtfully. "If the Maelstrom can trap us in the one place where it is strongest, it would not matter how we fare against XERRD."Hotwire nodded again. "My thoughts exactly. We had an escape route in Quadrant 14, but an exit from a place like this could get even messier." He hesitated. "And then there's the fact that I wouldn't be of much use on my feet in there."
  9. OOC: I like what you came up with for Tracer, that guy. I never did figure out what he looked like, but I think I'll stick with your interpretation, at least for the time being....I think that just leaves Osprey for characters of mine with undetermined appearances. I'd make him myself, but I have no Agents minifigs to work from. If anyone else wants to try, please feel free.
  10. OOC: Brikman, I have to say I loved reading the final battle with Zach and Ahua, and Zach's redemption was just fantastic.I'll be home tomorrow night, and I'll have an IC then.
  11. OOC: Cyborg's team could be in a different part of the temple at this point, seeing as we don't really know how big it is.
  12. Don't feel bad, ZM, neither have I. xD I have finals this week, but come the weekend maybe we can start brainstorming again.
  13. OOC: A library full of shadows? I think I see what you're doing there...TC01, welcome back!I have finals this week, so I probably will not be very present here. Expect no ICs from me until next weekend.
  14. Speak softly and drive a Sherman tank

    1. avmatoran

      avmatoran

No, drive a Sherman tank and have your best friend driving another one behind you.

  15. I understand its vastness and the resulting need for multiple threads. The sentiment I was trying to express was incomprehension that players would be expected to keep up with all of those concurrent topics. It seems a bit like a bloated octopus of an RPG from my perspective.EDIT: I don't doubt that it works, either. It just sounds like a pain.
  16. Ideally, you could come up with scenarios for Space Police (and maybe Mars Mission? I don't know if there are any new Space themes, I haven't been keeping up) and synchronize it with avmatoran's Alien Conquest scenario. And thank you for that bit of feedback, Sisen. It's just as well, since I realized within hours of writing that particular post that multiple threads would just be a pain in the tail. I don't know how in Karzahni they put up with that in the BZPRPG
  17. IC: "There's no time," Cabin protested. "We have to get to the Temple of Creation.""I agree," said Hotwire. "Rex, Amanda, Kate and Rotor are in there with no backup, and Amanda and Rotor are the only ones in that group who can actually fight.""And I'd trust Rotor about as far as I can throw an Iron Predator," Jackson added. "We'll just have to be cautious. Snake, you keep an eye on Hertz the whole time, just in case.""Actually I think it would be better if I were to do that. I'm not really fit for combat on the ground," Hotwire said, gesturing at his leg replacement. "If he's clean, he's not going anywhere with those injuries. If he is a Stromling, though, I promise you he won't get far.""If you would stop talking about me like I'm not here for just a moment," said Hertz, "isn't there any way i can prove to you that I'm not a Stromling?"
  18. In that case, I propose you and avmatoran work on Space, and Zero and I work on LU. Thoughts? Objections? Cake?
  19. OOC: Do you have any specific plans for Lutsky?IC: Hotwire opened his mouth to protest, but then stopped short. Snake had a very good point. After all, he himself hadn't suspected Phoenix and Cyrus at all.Cabin, therefore, was the first to disagree with Snake. "I think we can be fairly certain that Hertz is not a Stromling. The transformation takes enough time that Zach was able to warn us when he was infected, and Hertz would have done the same. The only way around that would be to assume that he's always been a Stromling and simply hasn't revealed himself yet."Now Hotwire spoke up. "That is a possibility, though. What about Ghost?"Hertz, in the meantime, was looking increasingly unsettled.
  20. That seems more like the exposition leading up to the MMO, rather than covering where the MMO ended. What about the Darkitect and all that? [/didmyresearch]
  21. OOC: That should give the rest of us time to backpost our way to the temple Thanks much.IC: Hotwire's PDA alerted him of Dr. Cyborg's all-agents bulletin, and when he read it his blood ran cold. The others had the same reaction. They piled into the Fire Hammer -- Jackson, Hotwire, and Dactyl in the cab, Snake on the turret, and Cabin and Helm in the bed of the truck, clinging to the roof of the cab."Get to Hertz," Dactyl said. "Maybe we can get him out of here too." Jackson nodded and floored the gas pedal. As the Fire Hammer sped towards the injured techie, Hotwire tuned into the open comm channel. "To anyone who didn't get Cyborg's message, Hotep's Temple is empty! This was all a read herring, and the Maelstrom is actually located in the Temple of Creation! Repeat, the Temple of Creation is the real Maelstrom Temple!"Jackson swerved, and the Fire Hammer screeched to a halt next to Hertz. Helm and Cabin leapt off the back, grabbed the injured agent, and passed him into the cab, where Dactyl and Hotwire received him. Dactyl moved out of the cab and onto the back with Cabin and Helm, and Hotwire began trying to assess Hertz's injuries. Jackson spun the Fire Hammer around, and they sped off back into the jungle with the rest of the forces.
  22. If you've gotten it approved already, sure, go ahead. But if not, I still think a general Space RPG might draw more players (I could brainstorm for that as well)
  23. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know that there was a Lego Universe wiki. Thanks!
  24. OOC: Atton, that was the Renaissance Hertz just crawled out of, not the Talon. Might want to edit that.Brikman, thanks for the memory jog.IC later. Trying to think of stuff.
  25. I'm down for that, though unfortunately my knowledge of Lego Universe and its backstory is somewhat paltry, as I never played it myself. I'll do a bit of research, hopefully bring myself up to speed.
