    Okay is it just me, or are all of mine, and everyone elses brickshelf folders empty?
     
    Good thing I back up all my MoC images, this will hopefully be fixed. Majhost is fine but brickshelf is not!

    Well, my Mindstorms 2.0 set sold for $289.99. I am finding myself a bit somber that I have to ship it out now, it was the crown jewel of my lego collection until I won the original Millennium Falcon. Can one really put a price on such a set?
     
    Ah well, I need the cash to keep my hopes up for brickcon, which is quickly approaching...

    There are clearly some awesome creations in that poll, if you deem my little ice cavern scene worthy I ask for your votes, without shame! This was one of my most unique works to date, I never thought of myself as a vig/diorama kind of builder. I enjoyed the mad dash getting it done before the deadline though, good luck to all in the contest!

    As promised, TSC now begins, please read the following very carefully. Lets get started shall we?
     
    Welcome to the inaugural Sanitarium Contest. The theme here is simple, Build a MoC using parts that come ONLY in non playset Bionicle sets. Thats right, no fusion, limited technic, limited system, your parts selection is limited only to Bionicle, and the few scattered system/technic parts available in those sets. I have just not been seeing enough quality MoCs that are solely Bionicle Based. Newer Bionicle parts, such as those available in the power miner sets are NOT allowed.
     
    Prizes will be awarded for first and second place! First place will win a Blue Matatu and second place will win a Troll Warrior lego set!
     
    Rules are as follows:
     
    1. Your entry will be put under the microscope very closely, so please provide several angles/pictures of it before entering. I have a reliable set inventory to compare, so if parts that do not belong on your entry are found, it will be disqualified. You may contest your disqualification, and your creation will be given one more review, to ensure fairness. To further clarify this, I will list the exempt bionicle sets(playsets), any parts directly from these will not be allowed.

    2. This is a freebuild, so you may build anything you like! However you may NOT edit the creation once it has been officially entered.
     
    3. There will be no 3 part entries. Your creation must contain at least 30 parts at the minimum.
     
    4. No whining, no complaining, no cheating, period. This means begging for votes when the polling has begun also.
     
    5. The deadline for this contest has been set for March 31st, this gives you all one month to get something done. If by the deadline there are no more than 20 entries, then it will be extended further. Update, contest deadline has now been extended until April 15th. If by this time we still do not have at least 20 entries, then the voting will begin regardless.
     
    6. You may only enter ONE creation. This creation may have accessories and the like, but these must attatch to the main creation in some manner.
     
    7. You may NOT enter previously posted/public creations.

    100th Blog Entry!

    Well it took a little under a year, but this is my 100th blog entry. My remaining days of premier membership are running out, so I shall dedicate this entry to all of you people who took time to stop in and read/comment on my blogging content.
     
    First off, I have to once again thank Kohaku. If not for him I would have never had the opportunity to blog. At 300+ comments, I would like to think that the blog did pretty well activity wise. I did make blog of the week sometime ago, however back then my blog was only a sliver of what it has become now. I have had my share of highs and lows during my blogging time, most of them can be read about in the personal life category. I am saddened that I will be unable to blog soon, however that sadness also motivates me to hopefully purchase a lifetime premier membership in the future.
     
    My only regret here is not being able to host that giant MoC contest I so wanted to do.

    Only 2 days left till Brickcon, and I still have like NOTHING packed up! I still have 2 MoCs to finish also, granted they are quickies but time is almost up and I have a ton left to accomplish! I got called into work today so that cost me 8 hours too! Grah! How will I get all this stuff done? *Rushes off to build*

    2007 Playsets!

    I have seen alot of comments on the Toa Mahri and the new Titan sets, but very little on the playsets. So far I think they are looking to be great. The large set looks to have alot of great parts for new MoCs and I really like those black tentacles and seawhips. The Kanohi-ish piece on the front has me thinking on a way to use it.(another giant maybe?)
     
    This set looks to have some great parts also, namely the black wingies on the hull and those sloped system pieces are nice also. The minifigs are looking good, they sure have come a long way since the Hordika minifigs.
     
    This one looks to be one of the smaller ones but still has some good stuff. The black seawhips and that, blue egg thingy, I must have them! These are the sets that I am the most anxious to obtain, lets see some comments on them!

    2008 Video Game Awards

    So who else watched it on Spike last night? I think it was pretty good, there were some awkward moments, like when 50 Cent was on stage! Otherwise though I got a first look at some of the biggest games coming up. Most notable was Grand Theft Auto 4: The Lost and the (filtered word), God of War 3, Dante's Inferno and Mafia 2, which left me begging for more. Some of the awards surprised me, Fallout 3 won best RPG game over Warhammer and The World Ends With You. GTA 4 won game of the year, big surprise there right? Here were the other award winners:

    Toys R Us has a great sale going, you can read more about it here. Anyway I got 3 newer sets with some great MoCing pieces, get down to your local TRU and get in on this deal!

    3 New Sets! Which One To Open?

    Buy 2 get one free sale at Fred Meyer! Got the Space Truck Getaway for free, which is also the draft set for Brickcon! One of the other 2 sets, either Pirates or Agents is going to be opened and its parts will become mine! The other will be going up for sale, which one should I open?
     
    I am leaning towards the Agents set, I want to see what that battery powered laser part is all about.

    30th Birthday...

    Well I am officially an old man now. Lots of packing going on and changes in my life. Im returning to my hometown, after alot of soul searching and learning. I have alot more stuff than I realized! Probably wont be getting much loot this year, as I have isolated myself from just about everybody. But hey, I am just glad to have a 30th birthday.     First of all, I must cry injustice! There are several entries that have no thumbnail images, which are no doubt costing them votes! I do hope this is fixed as soon as possible, our beloved Roa Mc Toa has one of these entries! Next I have to thank the BBC staff for getting the polls up quickly.

    53 Wip...

    So I am taking a page out of Bundas blog and not posting pics, but rather elaborating on it.
     
    Color scheme is black/silver/blue, it is about a foot and a half tall. I still have to do touch-ups and finish the lower right arm and head. It looks alot like my self MoC, which also happens to be a cyborg-ish deal. Expect a flamethrower and sword for weapons, maybe a shoulder mounted blunt shooter, not sure yet. My system requirement is met with blue system tiles to make a belt, and lots of orange flames.
     
    Should be pretty awesome when it is done, feels good to build big again!

    Steady as she goes. Think big, and think function. I would say it is about 70 percent done, it is really neat, and NO, it is not another humanoid! I may end up having to make a video for it, stay tuned, there may be a teaser pic in the near future!

    A Gamers Greed!

    Got some stuffs today, new and old. First the new!

     
    Kmart had clearence on these, I had to get em. Now I have nerf armor for the DS and PSP!
     
    Next up, a treasure trove of retro games!

     
    All of these games have become difficult to find, Double Dragon II is one of the rarest games on the NES now. I knew I had to have it. Final Fantasy Mystic Quest and Oracle of Season/Ages are some of my all time favorites, and RPM racing was just for nostalgia. I remember playing all these games in my youth, cant wait for all the memories to come flooding back!
