I was so wore out last night after the late night lego store dash, I was unable to blog. So tonight I have to blog for 2 days worth! First, da pics.

This was one of my favorites, those are REAL bees flying around in there!

Tomorrow is the final day, allready. I am sad but at the same time anxious to see who will win best in show, and all the other awards. Also, I got a glimpse at the bionicle trophies and prototypes. One of them is a green gelu helmet, a trans black/brownish strakk head, and my personal favorite a trans clear bohrok headplate, with magnifying lens. Much like the one Bundalings won for BBCC 42, DO WANT IT BADLY! Id like to send a huge thank you to Letagi and his mother for transporting my family to the lego store, I am in your debt. Letagi also purchased the metal purple akaku, he now owns both of those precious flintsmith customs and a piece of BZP history! I was able to pick up some power function sets for a bargain price at the lego store, they will be put to good use as I was given a genius idea! The gang also reviewed Skopio, I was able to get in a few words as well. Everyone had a blast with Prometheus too, they put it to the test and it performed well. Looking forward to the final day, but also sad to see that the event has gone by so quickly. Look for more pics, updates, and other stuffs tomorrow!

Well day one is over allready. What a day! I was one of the first to arrive, helped with setup, then it was onto my own MoC setups. Met up with Arkov, who is an awesome dude, with awesome MoCs. Here are some notable pics from day 1. The day concluded with the meet and greet, where trophies were unveiled! Sadly, xccj and kraalix were no where to be found today, so I could not see the best bionicle trophy.

The countdown begins, 20 hours till Brickcon. I gots lots of stuffs to display, and hopefully I can find someone willing to split a vendors table with me so I can sell my goods. I dont quite have the inventory I had last year, but I still have a pretty good supply of things to vend. Including like 4 Rockoh sets, a Takanuva, Gelu, Rahkshi Star, Strakk, a trans clear baseplate, and a bag of kanohi.

Also I will have the uber awesome Metal Purple Akaku up for sale, one of a kind! For those who are unaware, it is a Flintsmith custom, here is a pic:

Also, Im taking the laptop, so I will have nightly updates and pictures from Brickcon streaming from my hotel room. Stay tuned for the latest!

Only 2 days left till Brickcon, and I still have like NOTHING packed up! I still have 2 MoCs to finish also, granted they are quickies but time is almost up and I have a ton left to accomplish! I got called into work today so that cost me 8 hours too! Grah! How will I get all this stuff done? *Rushes off to build*

This week were going back to the 80s!

    6391 Cargo Center

Description: Released in 1984 as part of the town series. Containing 536 parts and 5 minifigs, retail price then was a mere 20 bucks. Today can be purchased MISB for a whopping 700-1000 dollars and is very difficult to find it sealed.

My Take: I saw this set as a young child, I wanted it but 20 bucks in 1984 was alot to be spending on a toy. Sure wish I had gotten it though, now it is worth a small fortune! The set itself looks pretty fun, even for an older, basic set. There are forklifts, garages and a chopper! This set also features samsonite bricks, which themselves are collectors items.

Went and saw Resident Evil: Afterlife today at the mall, which was a great movie, best of the series and yet another cliffhanger ending! Picked up these too!

This week, its ba-da-ba-ba-ba, Im lovin it!

    3438 McDonald's Restaurant

Description: Released in 1999 under the co brand McDonald's, this set is the largest set that was offered at McDonald's. Containing 86 parts and 2 minifigs, retail price then was only about 15 bucks. Today it has jumped in value significantly, and goes MISB for anywhere between 70 and 100 bucks.

My take: I never saw this set at my local McDonald's, or I surely would have scooped it up, just based upon collectors value alone. The set is straight forward, its a drive thru with vehicle and outdoor seating. The sticker sheet from this set alone fetches about 25 bucks!

I disagree. I lost my fiancee today, to betrayal and lies, much like my only love before her. Once again I am alone, confused and lost.

Im not sure of anything anymore, you give all you can, trust, your heart, your home, only to end up betrayed. I think I am giving up on this relationship deal, Ill never find total honesty and trust, it just does not exist.

On the bright side, Brickcon is only 16 days away. Its sad though, I registered for both her and I, now she will not be going with me. I was so looking forward to sharing the experience with her, I will miss her deeply.

Yea its my turn for one of these topics. So, ask old man CzaR, in all his age and wisdom, and he shall answer with honesty.

    Bad boys, whacha gonna do?

    6598 Metro P-D Station

Description: Released in 1996 as part of the Town/Police series. Retail price then was about 60 dollars. Today it has doubled in value and can be found MISB for about 130 bucks. Containing 516 parts and 8 minifigs, this set was one of more detailed police sets.

My take: Never got this set, I recall seeing it in K-B toys though. Looks like it has alot going on with it, there are several vehicles, a boat, a chopper and a breakaway cell. There is even a shark to deter the criminal from escape! Looks like there are security cameras and loudspeakers too.

They seem to be the most common thing popping up in the BBC forum day after day, what do you people think of them? Are they a plague? Are they good for the forum and MoCing in general? Most will draw a negative conclusion from them, others will say they are the base for new MoCists.

So far I will have these MoCs on deck:

    War Worm
    Chromium Annelida
    Pink Floyd
    Prometheus
    Velonese
    Dagger
    Mag-Rail
    Geometric Rose
    Balberith

I hope to get a few more done before its time. Im open to suggestions! What MoCs of mine should go?

Ouch! And the ref pulls a red card! Medic!

    3312 Medic's Station

Description: Released in 1998 as a promo shell set, part of the Lego sports soccer series. The set included 72 parts and 2 minifigs. Retail price then was about 5 bucks. Today it has actually gained quite a bit of value and can be found MISB for about 30 bucks, a promotional item is the most likely reason.

My Take: Never had this set, in fact I had a local shell at that time and I never saw it. Its your basic soccer accessory set, there is a stretcher and cart for those injured soccer minifigs. There were like a ton of soccer accessory sets.

What is going on in the gulf? The US cannot handle another oil spill upon our shores! This is absolute madness, its time the president considers alternate forms of energy. I really hope there is not another plume of oil spewing underwater, I really really hope.

There is a chill in the air...

    6973 Deep Freeze Defender

Description: Released in 1993 as part of the Space/Ice Planet series, containing 399 parts and 3 minifigs. Retail price then ranged from 60-70 bucks. Today finding this set MISB is next to impossible and will cost anywhere from 200-400 dollars.

My take: Never did get this set. Looks cool, there is a rocket that attaches to the topside of it via magnets. Any set with magnets in it is a plus in my book. Of course, Ice Planet is probably best remembered now as the sets with the ever so popular trans orange chainsaw parts.

I want it, badly. 4 motors, 2 ir remotes/receievers, 4 linear actuators, plus a ton of useful technic parts like universal joints and turntables. Set of the year IMO!

I have a few unfinished WIPs, one is a flora, one is a new mag-rail, the other is a rahi.

Which one do I push forward with? Brickcon is approaching quickly, my time is running out!

Back by popular demand, the CSS retruns! Check back on fridays now for the latest trip down memory lane! This week, ho ho ho its magic....

    5581 Magic Flash

Description: Released in 1993 as part of the Model Team series, containing 785 parts, the set retailed then for around 60 bucks. Today it commands a price of 180-250 bucks MISB. One of the more alluring model team sets, in color scheme and functionallity.

My take: I had this set, it was fun. The van has a steering function, opening doors and a hitch/trailer for the boat. The van is actually very similar to the custom rally van set from the same series. Model team was a line that was far ahead of its time, blending technic functionallity under system style. Next friday I will spotlight another classic.
