    CAST ANNOUNCED!
(Right click to download trailer/avi file; 3MB)

::NEWS::IMPORTANT TO CAST!!!: I'm reposting a updated version of the story. When posting it, I discovered a lot of things were changed a few months back in the document file. So please, if you have any version saved on your computer, I'd encourage everyone to update it with the one I'm posting now. If you already have lines ready and don't have time to go back and fix it, it's fine. but it's not a huge revision. SkullKid wanted to inform everyone that he wants to get at least Section 3 done and ready before we start showing the audiobook. The release date is unknown, but hopefully it won't take longer than a few weeks. Remember: ALL of this is the member SkullKid’s idea. He came to me with this awesome suggestion and as of now I’m happily complying. I’m just hosting this up in my blog and making it all fancy like.

Advertizing is very important. As an epic, Glitch got a lot of wonderful reception, one of the major reasons for this was because of the support with linking in your signatures, or suggesting it to a friend. (If you have made any, feel free to show me so I can add it to the list)

    Why hello there.

What does one do when you are sick in bed and unable to sleep?

You get that weird emotion called nostalgia and you miss the good old days and wonderful people on a place called bzp.

I offer free hugs at the moment and high fives from all. No need to talk about my life. Its a droll subject. What of you all?

Perhaps this will be more than a midnight fling we shall see.

anyone seen the trailer? i'm not much into zombie games, but after viewing the announcement trailer, all I could thing of is "wow". must be on my top favourite gaming trailers (the trailers are half the fun of the game itself)

ah yeah, im kinda being a zombie over here myself. havent been on bzp much lately, sorry guys. a lot going on but such is life. i have done lots of drawings but have yet to finish any of them. don't even ask about writing--done nothing other than bloody college essays

umm...just trying to make conversation. i miss getting on here. hi guys. what's up? favourite trailer of yours?

National November Writing Month; read about it here.

Who else wants to do this with me? TNTOS reminded me about this a few weeks ago, and I officially decided I want to do it. Sort of late on asking since it starts in about three days, but still, even though I'm busy, if I really want to become a writer and take things seriously, I have to do this. Even if I don't finish, at least I tried my best.

It would be so awesome if I had some writing buddies to do this with me, to keep eachother encouraged. It would be such a good way to inspire us and just to start writing. This could go alongside with the Writers Club, too. Even if it's a cruddy story or you may never want to show anyone--but, you proved to yourself and others that you have the chops to write. Then again, remember that after November you can spend all of December and beyond editing it--and it could become one of the best things you have ever written.

    So?

(oh and, anyone have suggestions on a blog theme I could go with? I don't want super fancy, but my blog is looking awfully boring...)
  5. Lady Kopaka
I decided to extend the deadline until the October, 10th! That means people who haven't found the time to enter, or ones who already have, can get some time to enter and edit their entries. Good luck!

Last year I held a Glitch in the System contest, and its theme was to design one of my characters--this time? The purpose of this contest is to create a character that will show up in the upcoming epic. If you win, the character will be considered canon in the GitS universe. You guys have been so kind to me with this story, so I feel I should repay you by getting the community a bit more involved. Now then, let’s get down to details.

This is not an ‘only art/story/moc’ contest. You guys get a lot of free reign in this. The purpose is to simply come up with a character of your liking, tell me about him/her in a format similar to RPG templates, and that’s it. However, it is strongly recommended that you do art/MoC so I can picture him/her clearly. The more details and depth, the better chances you have at winning (this doesn’t mean you have to have super long info, though).

Need tips on creating a character?
    • The character has to fit into the theme of GitS. My story focuses a lot on a ‘cyberpunk’ theme. This epic is mainly in a city called Jiahk with the classic gangsters, funky politicians and lots of guns and explosions.
    • While Toa are always nice, try to be extra creative. Do you have an idea for a spunky Matoran reporter? A mysterious diplomat? Some evil crime lord? Be creative, surprise me!
    • If you’re still unsure about what to do, think of the characters in stuff like NCIS, Star Gate, The Matrix, Ghost in the Shell, or other crime/adventure series.

    General information and rules:
    • Follow all BZP rules and guidelines.
    • One entry per person.
    • I’m going by a judging system, not voting. I am not judging by ‘who drew the best looking character/etc’; I want originality, not necessarily artistic talent.
    • There will be three winners.
    • Remember: if you win, that means I have full control over that character. No, I won’t make him/her be stupid, and you will have full credit of creating him/her—but be aware that this is my story, do not back-seat drive (but feel free to give me ideas or things you do not want me to do with said character).
    • Please make sure the format of your entry is readable and organized. Otherwise, I’m not picky.
    • I am NOT going to answer super basic questions on the story for you. If you expect to get a character in, I expect at least for you to read my story.

    Q&A:
Q: ….what is Glitch in the System?
A: Glitch in the System is a Bionicle epic that is about a Toa named Tachi and her Partner named Komas. It’s set in a slightly futuristic setting. You can read it here.

    Q: What’s the deadline?
A: OCTOBER 10TH, 2010, 11:59PM CNT. I know, it’s only two weeks, but I must begin working on this story soon. I may be flexible, though.

Q: Can the character be an alias of me/my bzp persona?
A: If you really want to. Just make sure that character will fit logically in my story.

Q: So, I can make a MoC, piece of art, or even a sprite of my character?
A: Yes. There are no limitations on this.

Q: Can my character be part of Toa Niihlus’ agency?
A: Sure. Any faction you remember, you can create a character to be part of it. You can also create your own.

Q: If I win, how important will my character be? Are there other prizes?
A: It depends. It will most likely be more than a cameo, but otherwise it depends on what the story needs. Besides getting your character canon, I am considering some cool other prizes…but still working on that.

    Q: I don’t understand this in the story/I’m not sure I can do this/etc.
A: If you need any help, just ask here or PM me.

    -----
Aaaand I think that’s it. What are you still here for? Go create that character for me!

(oh and if you want to spread the word/advertise, that would be nice.)
  6. Lady Kopaka
SO EXCITED. Why can't it come sooner? I might just end up being a NaNo rebel...

I asked before, asking again. Who's joining me in this madness, even if you're not aiming for 50k? I'm hoping to get some things done; the arts/writing is only the few things that keeps me from falling apart these days (even though I don't do enough).

Like last year, I'll make a list of all the BZPers! Is anyone also on the website? (I'm almost certain B6 said we could talk about it as long as we don't link it...sorry if I misunderstood) I'd love to know about y'alls ideas and stalk your word count. I just wanted to bother everyone with this, I'm trying to get my mind off other things.

    NANOWRIMO YAY!

Thank you all for taking the time to answer my questions! Super super helpful for developing my story! I love seeing the diversity in the answers, but I was also surprised on some common desires. I'm going to try my best to reply to everyone asap.

    Oh, yeah, also...

I think I can do this?

Hey guys. Just felt like doing some fun in my blog. Choose a number between 1 and 500. I'll use a random number generator. Whoever gets the closest to my chosen number wins a free Premier Membership for a year.

Obviously, if you already have a membership you can't enter. Only one entry per person, too. Deadline is August, 14th.
  9. Lady Kopaka
So my descent into further madness has begun.

The last full feature novel I wrote was Glitch in the System, completed in 2009. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had concerning a artistic project, and I want to experience that again.

I do not consider myself much of a writer at all, but I enjoy it, and that’s what counts. So, I’d like to announce I’m working on a new series! (listens to two people clapping in distance)

What’s it about? Well, to put it simply, I was not content with the direction of BIONICLE (gen1), so…
Novel to start somewhere mid 2008 serials. Story will begin to change not far into that.
Will be divided out into chronological serials like the canon ones, but will be longer. And cooler. And less of a confusion.
To be written in a version where [almost] everyone is human. (sorry guys, it’s what I’m most comfortable with)
And no Mata Nui being a robot. (I mean, no disrespect, that’s cool, but doesn’t work for my AU)
Likely to be released early January of 2015.

I’m seeking proofreaders and someone I can bounce ideas off of. Maybe a few people? Would be cool if this AU wasn’t all my idea. If you’re interested, send me a PM.

I really want to do this. So it’s going to get done.

    Stay tuned.
  10. Lady Kopaka
    i felt nostalgic.

    what's up with me:
    I turn 22 on the 31st (I can't believe I was 14 when I joined this here website)
    moved out on my own
working on a graphic novel/webcomic series (based off Glitch in the System)
yes I'm still doing art, though i'm extremely rusty
    still suffering from health problems
    still not in school
    busy working two jobs
    is continually a derp
still secretly loves Bionicle still, especially doodling human versions of them
planning to make a return to Brickfair this year

    that's about it

hope everyone else is doing good. never be afraid to bug me via PM here or elsewhere
  11. Lady Kopaka
    Seriously guys. Read this. Please?

Bumped, cause I feel this needs to be heard again. I know this is a long entry, but it was very hard to try to squeeze this important subject any shorter. This is so much more important I think, than those silly random blog entries. Please take your time to read this.

As of the past few weeks, I’ve finally have found time to go around the art forum and really devote some time to it. But, there is something I’d like to talk about. First, this really has nothing to do with me. Though, I am very much concerned about the well being of other artists...or well, anyone who works on creative stuff (writing, MoCing, etc). Before I start this lecture, I may state this is just out of opinions and I am not trying to challenge the ‘look and leave’ issue. You have a right to post where you want or when to just look and leave. And for another thing, if you don’t even go to GA, please don’t feel pressured to do this. Nevertheless this issue has been bugging me for some time.

When I joined [2005] and made my first art topic, I got a lot of nice posts. It wasn’t a big hot topic, but people were kind enough to really encourage my art on BZP, by friendly critique or just a simple comment. Without those people who did that, you probably would not see as much art as I do today. Maybe I could be wrong, but I felt back then artists felt more respected. I’m not saying as in any sort of popularity, but simply they got decent posts and just some sense of reverence. I think this problem has always been around and I may sound like I'm exaggerating the issue...but still, bear with me.

It seems more people squander time with the people who really don’t try with art and then the people who truly strive don’t get much attention at all. These counts with both the talented artists and the new ones who are struggling to learn and improve. I’m not trying to be mean to certain people; but really, it’s getting a bit ridiculous. What you do could greatly affect a person’s esteem about art, MoCing, writing, or any other creative activities. If you rather want to post and comment about a five minute MSPaint drawing, that’s fine I guess. Just try to be a bit considerate to the artists who work hard or at least wanting to get better. They are the ones you should focus at and give care.

Also, when I begin to notice our veterans and popular artists are not getting decent posts anymore…we have a problem.

I’d like to clearly address the type of artists you should regard:
The Newbies: Just because a drawing may not be up to standards of marvelous talent doesn’t mean the artists is lazy and purposely terrible. People don’t become artists in one day; it takes years and years of never-ending practice. So if you see a person who said they are working hard on something and they are not getting many posts—do them a favor and help them out. Just because their art may not be as talented doesn’t makes them lazy or terrible, they just need help and practice. Remember this important quote Hahli Husky posted in her blog awhile back: "Good artists are the terrible artists who never gave up."
Veteran Artists: Now, the larger artists on BZP (I feel) have just as much trouble surprisingly. Sure their art may be awesome, but if they continue not to get any comments and encouragement, they slow on their art or stop all together. They feel their art isn’t good enough or it’s a waste of time to bother showing the art here. Our fellow BZP artists work HARD on their art for their enjoyment and to entertain you guys—you could at least repay by giving them by a friendly comment or review. In short, try to tell the difference from people who really are not respecting the meaning of the art forum (or art itself), and then the ones who are really putting some effort into their stuff. Either old or new.
[Note: I seem to keep contradicting myself, but even though I said give focus to the people who put a lot of effort in their art (This is the top priority), there isn’t anything wrong with commenting a drawing someone drew quickly. I and other artists have drawn quickies that we are proud of, or possibly a draft/WIP that the artist needs opinions on. Either way, just try your best to tell when someone needs a comment, and when it does best to ignore some of the imprudent ones.]

To the people who will tell me “Well I can’t give good reviews” or “I’m not good at pointing out critique”… that’s okay. I know I may sound a bit contradicting to Nikira’s ‘How To Review’, but don’t feel pressured to give the artists an amazing review. As long as you don’t sound immature, rude, or spammy, you should be fine. While most artists appreciate long reviews, they still should understanding toward the members with less of the flair to give a long review. All the artists wants is help on improvement and just to know he/she is noticed. No matter, still try your best at reviewing though. (Read Nikira's review help for how-to)

Now I may be confusing the meaning of this a bit. It’s true most people seek attention, but in a humble sense I don’t mean they want to get bragged on or feel all conceited (Even though we still enjoy a good ole' ego boost). Simply put, what if you worked really hard on something, posted, and then no one commented? It hurts, doesn’t it? We can never really cleanse this issue away from BZP, but you can help just a bit by encouraging a friend time to time or thinking twice before you post somewhere. Where you could be posting in a large GD topic where most posts are ignored, you could give a just as quick comment in the art, writing or MoC section and really encourage a member in their work.

And hey, if you start to take the time to comment other peoples work; your chances will double about receiving more comments in your own topics. Speaking of which, if someone gives you a nice review in your topic, return the favor if you can and review something of theirs. It's a nice thing to do.

I just felt this needed to be pointed out. I’m not pressuring people to post or make you feel guilty. In fact if you’re not really into the whole creative division, don’t worry about it. But this is focused toward the people who do go there or are getting back there. In no way am I trying to be impolite; I’d just like people to understand this problem.

    hi everyone

im doing a all-nighter right now, trying to finish a project. taking a break, i was wondering how bzp was fairing. i really like the new style of the forums.

i'm sorry i'm no longer on. i keep wanting to slip back on but i have too much to do these days to keep tabs with the site; but maybe ill try to get on more. i'm in my sophomore year of college, but im withdrawing after this semester because i cant afford it and also due to health problems. im debating on if i should stay in MO or move back to TN. Have a job, got a tattoo, letting my hair grow out, have sadly not written anything in months, and not much on art either

how has everyone been? i was lurking the forums and realized all the people i havent talked to in forever; hope you all are doing well

The Blind Side >>>>>>> Avatar. If anyone objects so help me Lord, you won't get another invisible cookie from me again (that or I'll just beat you up). Why I saw that shallow blue kitteh movie instead of The Blind Side I will never know. Best movie of 2009, and that's a lot coming from me since I don't watch a lot of movies/tv.

On a sadder (random) note, just warning people I probably will not make it to Brickfair this year. Not 100% sure yet, but it's leaning that way. Sorry.

But jazz is the perfect remedy to lighten your mood. All I need now is chocolate, my inspiration for art/writing to come back, and the world shall be a better place. Somewhat.

Okay, impromptu entry over, you guys stay cool.

Oh? Commissions? Reviews? LtFB? Um..excuse me as I slip away to avoid those questions.
  14. Lady Kopaka
TLH/Turakii's wedding, getting to tour D.C., and Brickfair was amazing. Really. The best vacation I've ever been on.

I'm so blessed to have such amazing friends that I've met through here, and also getting to know new people! I really apologize if I didn't get to hang out with everyone like I wanted, I'm so so sorry. I kept getting pulled in different directions and since it was my first time here it was a bit overhwelming, but in a good way of course.

I'm definitely planning on going next year though, and goign to try my best to spread out and geto to know any BZPers that come.

I also plan to attend the one in Alabama in January since it's only a two hour drive away. Let me know if you'll be there. (:

So now I'm very exhausted. Thankful no work today, so I've jsut been flopping around like a zombie all day. Maybe I'll make a more useful entry later, but yay Brickfair!!

In other news, I might think about getting into the BZPRPG. Maybe? Hmm...
  15. Lady Kopaka
I'm writing this Bionicle Songfic with the song I'm So Sick by Flyleaf, if someone can guess the Bionicle I'm devoting this to...you get a....picture by me!

I might as well post the lyrics:

I will break into your thoughts, With what's written on my heart,
    I will break, break!

    I'm so sick,
    Infected with where I live,
    Let me live without this,
    Empty bliss,
    Selfishness,
    I'm so sick,
    I'm so sick

If you want more of this,
We can push out, sell out, die out,
    So you'll shut up,
    And stay sleeping,
With my screaming in your itching ears

    I'm so sick,
    Infected with where I live,
    Let me live without this,
    Empty bliss,
    Selfishness,
    I'm so sick,
    I'm so sick

    Hear it, I'm screaming it
    You're heeding to it now

    Hear it! I'm screaming it!
    You tremble at this sound…

    You sink into my clothes,
    And this invasion,
    Makes me feel,
    Worthless, hopeless, sick

    I'm so sick,
    Infected with where I live,
    Let me live without this,
    Empty bliss,
    Selfishness,
    I'm so sick,
    I'm so sick

    I'm so sick,
    Infected with where I live,
    Let me live without this,
    Empty bliss, selfishness,
    I'm so,
    I'm so sick,
    I'm so...
You may have only one guess.

And no, you cannot guess Turakii.
  16. Lady Kopaka
I will hold the experiences and joy close to my heart, and not forget all the friendships formed and solidified.

I really don't have much to say. I'm almost speechless. I could spend a long time rambling about the details, but admittedly, I'm fatigued beyond belief and may pass on that. Perhaps later I will. But for now, know that it was the highlight of my year.

Things have been really hard on me for a long time. Finances and life and health. So hard. There were times recently where I wasn't sure I was going to make it. But I have. I found some inner strength, by what seems a miracle, a few weeks before Brickfair. It carried on and helped me survive through the eventful convention.

So much fun and amazing memories. I met old friends and new ones. I am reminded why I am friends with who. Reminded that I still have the ability to make new friendships. That I should try harder to stay in touch and trust people to accept me for who I am. People were so good to me, I'm blown away by everyone's love and kindness when I had a abrasive point over the weekend. You were all so supportive and I confess, had a moment of teary eyes earlier thinking over it. Soft spoken love, genuine hugs, encouraging words.

The convention itself was oddly...odd. Turnout was small it felt compared to the last time I went. But regardless, I had a lot of fun seeing the amazing LEGO and BIONICLE creations.

Sorry if I did not get to spend time or even speak much with some people. This year I tried really hard to hang out with many, which I felt that I somewhat succeeded at, but again, I apologize if I had accidentally ignored anyone. I had a lot going on near the end of the convention and was not completely myself.

I want to thank TLH and Turakii for sponsoring me to make it up there as well as hosting me at your place and being so loving, I consider you family. Thank you Bionicle Raptor/Brappy Hour for being such an amazing friend and gentleman--you really were there for me. ChocolateFrogs for picking me up at the airport and just being a great friend in general--thanks for the book suggestions too! Aanchir--for hanging with me, being fun, and supportive. Kayru, thank you for being there when I needed consoling and love. Thank you AT for letting me hang around and you were such a kind and considerate person. I guess I must not forget about Team Farm Animals for letting me be part of some of the shenanigans too! Thank you. Thank you.

There are a bunch whom I am forgetting to mention, and I hope you can forgive me. I'm just tired and spoke the ones that came to mind immediately. I'm going to try hard this week to send a note to everyone I met with a word of thanks and a offering of friendship. I'd love to stay in contact with you all, if willing.

Again, had such an amazing time. Will definitely be back next year!! Maybe even go to a few other LEGO conventions in the future? Hmm.

IMPORTANT UPDATE! I'm extending the deadline to January 18th! A few people requested this because of the busy holiday season. Please notice, this will be the last extension, so please get your entries in! Thank you!

    Design a ‘glitch’ character contest!
Hello everyone! Lately, I’ve been having a fun time with Glitch in the System, and I also am aware a lot of you guys are enjoying it too. So, I thought why not make some fun contest to bring other peoples' ideas in the story?
So I considered it, and now this is official: the purpose is to design a minor character in the story. If you win, the design will be that said characters official look in the BZP epic, Glitch in the System.

Now let’s get down to the technical stuff. Who are you allowed to design? Well, any minor character of your choice. It could be a character as prominent as Captain Yuuzian, or to those Matoran fishermen we met back in Section 5.

    Basic Rules:
    - Like I said above, any minor character is allowed. Characters that are not allowed although are the characters Tachi, Komas, Makuta Szian, Zerak, and Niihlus.

    - Only one entry per person and you can only design one character. If you feel you should be allowed to enter more than one image, please say so, but I believe I'm going to stick with just one.

    - Obviously, follow all BZP rules. Nothing too gory, revealing, or offending.

    - It must be a new drawing never seen before on BZP.

    - You’re allowed to enter a digital, traditional, or even a 3D design of a character—they can be doing something, or it could just be them in a ‘Character Sheet’. I’m iffy about edits or MoCs cause I want this to be an art contest, but I may make exceptions.

    - I usually don’t like the voting system, so I will judge and have a few friends offer their opinions. I will also read through the entries and comments to see which entries you guys like the most as well.

    - I’m going to be as unbiased as possible. I will not be choosing who is the most talented or popular; it will be decided on the originality, and what best suits the character.

    General Information:
    - It will depend on the number of entries, but only one or two entries will be the winners. So, I may get a bunch of entries with different characters, but there will only be one ‘canon’ character. The rest of the characters that did not get a final appearance in the contest will be finished by me.

    - It would be encouraged that you are a GitS admirer, or at least someone who is familiar with it to enter. In my epic, I do describe most characters in one way or another. True, you are the designer, but just be aware of how I originally planned the character. For example, Szian’s servant is green and dangly, so while you can have fun with different approaches, I probably wouldn’t allow someone who made him tall, red, and didn’t suit the GitS theme to win.

    - If you are uncertain of choosing a character right away—that’s fine. I have two chapters in the works that will be finished (hopefully) before the deadline; you can wait and read those to get a better idea of some characters. You can also contact me to inquire of a character you’d like to draw.

    - Just to be nice to you guys, here’s a list of the characters that are allowed to be designed. Choose any—I might be missing a few, and any descriptions of the characters you can find yourself. (Or I suppose, if you ask nicely I could find and show you)
Szian’s Servant Philo T'Sak Makuta Muurax Captain Yuuzian Vheon Creolé Zimriah Naosu Usoan Toa Uchik Other?

    ~~
If you guys have any questions at all, please ask them, I’m more than happy to help you out. For the most basic questions just go ahead and ask now; anything that would require some discussion, you may PM me.
Since AC16 is ending soon, and the holidays are coming up, THE DEADLINE FOR THIS WILL BE JANUARY 18th, 2009 (12:00 AM EST). If you think it needs to be longer or shorter, please express your opinion.

And now I hope some of you guys will feel obliged to enter! Please inform me via PM, or here if you want to or are just considering entering. I'd like to know so I can prepare how to organize the contest better. Good luck!

I'm kinda excited for 'The Legend Continues' contests. Usually I'm not very competitive...but guys...that prize is an artbook. I'm a sucker for those. Bionicle artbook? Welp.

Curious...should I enter the art or writing contest? I honestly have good ideas for both, but guess it depends what I'm feeling or what will be best suited for the idea in the end. I'd appreciate any input or what you'd be most interested in from me. Art would likely be the obvious one, but writing still holds a special place in my heart.

Hint on my rough idea: it involved thunder and lightning. Any guesses?

Cheers guys! I also can't wait to see all the entries!!!
