  1. I do so only with the models I like a lot. Also, like I said in the OP, if you want to duplicate the model, you have to figure it out yourself. Having a total piece count is one of those. Not that it was hard - I totaled the parts in the new module and the old one and compared them.
  2. Arms are the tough bits for me, I've never been great at making working designs that weren't too bulky to be effective. I agree here. Problem is, there's not really that many places to PUT armor on the model. Note that none of my models are ever totally DONE. When I find ways to improve, I do it. Case in point follows. After posting this thread, I noticed a problem with the shoulder assembly. The ball sockets in the chest were conflicting with the bit in the middle, potentially causing bending in the plus rods in the assembly. I have developed a rework to this area of the model that rectifies the issue. Aesthetics are not changed much. Piece count increased to 112. Updated shoulder assembly.
  3. Greetings, friends! Been a while since I've been here, but I come bearing gifts! I've always been a fan of articulation - that is, the ability of a model to move. A very long time ago, I made a Toa-size MOC with movable shoulders (this may even have been back on Ye Olde Forums). Onbce more I return with a new model... this time with more articulation than ever. The basic model objective, aside from the articulation that I will explain later, was to create a Toa form of an MoC Matoran I created a long time ago (seen here to the far left). And I succeeded. However... I, the lover of articulation that I am, thought "Hey, let's make this more than the bog-standard model." And so I present... The Toa of Earth. (no, he doesn't have a name) Full body shot (standing). However, this topic isn't about the model itself. Not entirely, anyway. This is ALSO about its articulation. This time around, I've gotten bolder. I redesigned my shoulder articulation from the ground up. It can be used with more common pieces (as my original model used parts that I only had enough of FOR that model - which is still fully assembled), but is now more restrictive with it's upper arms (you have to use Rahkshi thighs, as the arm needs to have a ball at the shoulder and a socket at the elbow). I have also added... added spine articulation (of a sort). Now he can do toe touchies! And relax on a beach. How do I do this? Simple. The key component is this bugger right here. I do it by slotting them into the short leg joints that the Toa Metru used, at both ends (total four), like so. Then it's just a matter of connecting the ball joints into a rod in the torso (as seen here on this model). For the shoulder articulation, this module is at the core of the torso, attaching to more of the Metru socket pieces that act as the shoulders. From there, Rahkshi thighs act as upper arms. The model also features a Rhotuka spinner on the back that can shift up and down using the same principles. Full instructions will not be provided, but I will link the full gallery. There are charts displaying all 110 pieces (the charts actually show 113, I accidentally included 3 pieces I used as demonstration in this photo), as well as shots of almost every system in the build. If you wish, you may adapt the designs or recreate the build (if you can figure everything out). Not all the pictures are SUPER high-quality, but you will be able to see everything. For some pieces that may be hard to see, individual close-ups are provided. Enjoy! Feedback is welcome.
  4. It certainly seems that way. I saw the short trailer when it was leaked yesterday, and then the EXTENDED trailer today. I spent 10 minutes with each picking them apart. Highlights from the trailers:
  5. The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances was IMO Nine's second-best story, behind his (really well-done) finale. I like how he's silly, it's humorous, and he does a good job being equally serious during moments where that's appropriate. 11 is fun. I quite like him. I like 9 because of his sarcasm. Because sarcasm is fun. I loved Nine's sassiness. If he'd had Donna as a companion, nothing would have ever gotten done, they'd be too busy sassing each other. Just like Jack and River would be too busy being sexy.
  6. We all did. But grieve not, Matt's leaving at Christmas.
  7. imgI think he's more Master materiel. Now that you mention it... that is a plausibility. Holy moly that guy looks creepy in the shot....... No thanks. That picture of McDowell is OLD. This is him now:He played Tolian Soran in Star Trek Generations, voices someone in Hero Factory, not to mention other sci-fi roles. He's a GREAT villain actor, DEFINITELY Master material.
  8. DW already proved they can be. Need I point at the First Doctor? Or the Third? Or the Seventh? that's what I'm saying. MrPerson was saying that he thought the 12 wouldn't be funny or insane because he's old. Quite the opposite, if you've seen his other roles. He's quite the silly guy for acting. And, fun fact, he's the same age now that Hartnell was when HE started as the First Doctor. He'll be the oldest one to play it, but I have high hopes. I'm betting on a silly Doc as always, but perhaps more... sinister underneath. Like Seven.
  9. DW already proved they can be. Need I point at the First Doctor? Or the Third? Or the Seventh?
  10. As the Daleks would say, SPE-CU-LATE! SPE-CU-LAAAAAAAAAAAAATE!
  11. Someone did that (and the Doctor Who theme) in metal. Really well, actually.
  12. They have, look closer in Asylum. The Supreme, Strategist, and some Drones were in the parliament, along with some in the asylum. And there was one ore two at the Pandorica.
  13. He looks to me like a kind of modern John Pertwee. But by his face, I'm guessing on a more Seven-like sort of "wheels within wheels" Doctor.
  14. YAY! what time on BBCA? The transmission will be live. It's 7PM UTC, 2PM EDT, 11AM PDT, et cetera, et cetera. All simulcast. Chaotic... but a LOT of fun. I might even write that as a Short Story here on BZP.
  15. it wasn't a Judoon, that were those rhino thingies. those were the bodyguards. You mean the Slabs? Also, while I was waiting for my dad to get out of his doctor's appointment today, I thought of something... what would happen if the Doctor met Voporak, or found the Vahi?
  16. Clone race of elite warriors heck-bent on conquering the known world? Yea, I think they might be. I wanna tell a Skrall that I'm the clever one and he's the potato one now.
  17. his name would change nearly every series then. It DOES. Every new Doctor has had a slightly different variant of the theme song. Listen to Ten's opening, then Eleven's. Takes practice, but it can happen. I say many funny things in a straight face.
  18. I always find that trailers never give enough away to be spoilers. They wet the appetite. Possible. Though, I heard a crazier theory. What if Gallifreyan, without the TARDIS translation matrix making us hear it in English, sounds like music, and the show's theme song is his name?
  19. Remember, everyone think "Doctor" right at the very beginning, and we can beat the Master.
  20. That's just it. What about the people that wanted to see it (i.e., ME) that COULDN'T be there? What does that say to them? That's 99% of the fanbase. It's REALLY bad PR.
  21. I wanted him to rip that Simpsons mask off in front of the billboard.I also want the COMIC-CON EXCLUSIVE TRAILER for the 50th Special that Moffat is blackmailing people into not putting on the internet at on because if you weren't rich and lucky enough to be there, he doesn't care about you. >.>
  22. It was the Midnight Entity, and it wanted to play a game...
  23. In other news, scientists found a planet a while back, 55 Cancri e, made (we estimate) 80% of diamonds.MIDNIGHT.
