So yeah, basically I'm working on a MNOLG style comics series, inspired to some extent by Takuma Nuva's series from way back...

Couple of questions though, firstly how can you sort out this blurry dot stuff when you make a gif image. For the record I put the comic together in MS powerpoint, save the slideshow as a GIF, then string the images together in a program called Unfreeze. Which leads me onto a second question, what would be a good frame delay? The above image has 3 seconds between each of its 3 frames.

Is there a better way to spend an evening than ripping stuff out of MNOLG 2 and the MNOLG style kit to create a pointless scene in MNOLG where you have your own house?

    I don't think so.

Yeah, suppose I need to just throw a word out to Matoran Onknu, Takuma Nuva and Roablin for various things there.

Anybody ever done a blog feature where they do reviews, but not of sets, but an individual piece, its faults, and its applications?

And would anybody be interested in that?

If you break into somebodies house, and enter a room and before you, you see a bank card, a nintendo DS, a digital camera, an Xbox, a TV, a PVR, a box of 6 watches and a 2 year old Pay-as-you-go Phone worth nothing, what would you steal?

I swear, todays thieves have no brains. Shame about the conservatory window.

So I made this enhanced version of my avatar, but I don't want to use it, because there is something wrong with it. Can people critique it, so I can work out what is wrong with it? Because something is wrong with it, I just don't know what it is.

A little peeve of mine, why do people not honour the 1? My display name is Taipu1, not Taipu! Yes, it's unoriginal, but it's what I've been known as for 6 years on here, so I'm not changing it.

But there is a 1 there!

I'm having problems uploading to Brickshelf/majhost. Is there still a problem with the site, or am I doing something wrong. It keeps going on about none permisable characters, and I've saved the thing under 3 different names, using fewer characters and only letters, and I've tired bitmap and PNG format, and it just isn't working.

Starting to get the impression BZP is slowly dying now, there were less people when the forums came back online, but there was a surge of people, which has gone now. The number of people viewing forums is down by my observation. Last year when I'm in BBC there's usually a good 10ish other people in the forum. Just now it was 2. Usually a couple of people in Epics last year, just checked there and it's dead. 4 people in GD, which is the most popular forum apart from COT, which I don't really watch over. It may not be peak time yet, but it's definitely quiet...

I've decided to start posting top fives of totally random things. I wanted to start off by saying these are my personal thoughts, you are welcome to disagree, and I would be more than happy to see your own rankings of things. Also, some of these may not even be based off experience, but stuff I've seen on the internet, or magazines or whatever. First hand experience may affect the order of things, but who knows,

Anyway, First off, I decided to go Lego Star Wars. I wanted to start familiar ground (Lego) but not overly familiar (Bionicle).

Taipu1's Top 5 Lego Star Wars sets

    #5 - 10179 UCS Millenium Falcon
I remember the first time I saw this, it came up in the news on BZP. I think when it came out (correct me if I'm wrong) it was the biggest and most expensive lego set ever, and my jaw dropped. The detail is stunning, the size is incredible and the price is extortionate. Unfortunately I've never had the finances to own a set such as this. I envy those who do.

    #4 - 7256 Jedi Starfighter & Vulture Droid
You're probably thinking that this is not a particularly stand out set, but as one of only 6 lego star wars sets I own, it gains a lot in rank. The fact it had two ships appealed a lot to me back when I was 12, and as a result I accidently threw it across the room when playing, attempting to simulate the jump to lightspeed. My favourite of the two within was always the Jedi Star fighter, I think it was good details for its size, and I loved the fact the wings were adjustable. Up in my top five, because it offers a lot of fun.

    #3 - 9492 TIE Fighter
I own 7263 TIE fighter, and looking at this thing, it is such an improvement. The change of blue to the actual colour is a big step in visual accuracy, and it looks so much more chunky and smooth. It looks like a replica, not a lego model.

    #2 - 10030 UCS Imperial Star Destroyer
This seemed to appear in every Lego catalogue I ever owned, and I would lust after it. It's massive, complex, and the kind of thing I would love to build. Its most deserving of a UCS model, and most suits it. The non UCS version I think looks pathetic, and I was disappointed that this, as my #2 Lego Star Wars set, never got an appearance in the Lego Star Wars video game, instead being replaced by the smaller version, and the mini version. Criminal frankly, although I can see it could be difficult to fit this thing in a video game.

    #1 - 6209 Slave I (2nd edition)
Possibly unfairly at number 1 because I own the set, but outside of Bionicle, it is the best Lego set I own, hands down. I loved all the little storage holes and hidden guns, and the fact it came with a Boba Fett minifig. Sure, the 3rd edition might be more accurate, but I own this, and prefer everything about it. I don't like the look of the new Fett minifig, it's become too true to detail. This set is the perfect bridge between Lego and Star Wars. Brilliant.

I've been calling myself Taipu1 for years, and it occurs to me that I might not even be pronouncing it right!

So is it "Tai-" rhyming with "Ray" or "Tai-" rhyming with "Guy".

I've been doing it as in "Ray", and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm entirely wrong about that...

Working on a new epic, and taking a different style to normal. Less crash/bang action, more sort of political, maybe? Probably not the right word. Action with intermediate spells of sophisticated dialogue regarding the reasons for the action. Or something like that.

Are the BIONICLE movies entirely canon? Because I have a specific point that has been bugging me for a while. In the first 3 films, the Toa and Matoran all manage to stash things behind their backs. Is this canon, and is there a word for it, because I don't even know where to start looking for this kind of thing on BS01.

If you are running an ad blocker, tough luck it won't work on this entry

If I could describe Nestle Shreddies in one word, it would be 'delicious'.

Supermarket own brand malted wheats are not the same.

Is it normal to have 3 bowls of cereal at 10:30 at night?

Yes, because Shreddies are just that good.

To summarise this entry in 3 words: 'Shreddies are awesome!'

Dunno what countries of the world actually have Shreddies, if you've no idea what I'm talking about, I pity you. A place without Shreddies is a place without happiness.

This is one of the most nostalgic images of my childhood. In August/September of 2005 I went to Legoland Windsor. I saw the Tower of Toa in the Big Shop, and convinced my parents to buy it for me for my birthday. Being cruel parents, they agreed to but I wasn't allowed to have it until my birthday. So they hid it in their bedroom. I managed to find it, it was on top of the wardrobe. Being only 10 at the time, I could reach it, but it was tantalisingly close to being in reach.

11 October, I got my results for the 11+ examinations. I had got 139/141, which was good. Being as how I had therefore got into the school I wanted to (Conveniently its a minutes walk from my house) I cryed. And then my mum said because I had done so well that I could have Tower of Toa early.

Needless to say, in my eyes at the time it was the best set in the known universe, and I have very fond memories of it. I also got the Visorak Battle ram for my birthday, which added to the sheer awesome factor.

I imagine this is pretty basic stuff, but I'm currently confused on where to use capitals in terms of writing species names in BIONICLE. Here's a short excerpt from the epic I'm writing (re-writing technically):

Should the 3 highlighted words have capitals in front of them or not?
