  1. Sometimes i find it had to believe its already been almost 25 years since Bionicle first came to us (will be 25 as of next February). Seems like just yesterday i received my first set as a kid and was introduced to the wonderful, mystical world of Bionicle, and I'm sure many of you feel the same. Since then, many characters have been introduced, many sets released, and many new adventures and stories told. As great as it all was, I'm sure everyone has a certain bionicle figure/set that is special to them, close to their heart for one reason or another, which brings me to the topic of this post, what set or sets mean the most to you as a fan, what set do you hold close to your heart? I'll start us off. For me, there are three sets i hold dear. The first is the McToran version of Jaller (no. 1391), or Jala as he was called back then. Jala was the first Bionicle set i ever owned, and served as my gateway into Bionicle as a whole. Without that little McToran, Bionicle may have very well passed me by. The Second is Toa Mata Onua, as he was the first of the Toa Mata sets i collected. Onua isn't my favorite set, even amongst his fellow toa, but he does mean a lot to me as the first of the six. The Third is Toa Mata Tahu, whom i hold close because he shares a cherished childhood memory. My grandmother bought Tahu for me when i was a boy, and we went for a meal at a nearby swiss chalet after that, i remember being so excited about getting tahu that i didn't wait till i got home, i opened the canister and built him right there in the restaurant while we waited for our food. Sure, it may not be the greatest memory, but it's one i hold dear. And now i turn the floor to you, fellow bionicle fans. What set do you hold closest to your heart? What set means the most to you?
