    For the longest time, I've had all my Bionicle pieces in a large tub. It's sufficient for holding all the parts, but digging through them to find what you need has become much too difficult.
     
    I tried sorting by color once, but that was still difficult to manage. (Ever tried digging through a bin of all black pieces before? ._.) I also did sort by part function once (torsos, limbs, etc.), but my collection was much smaller then, plus I feel that sorting them like that can lead to functional fixation.
     
    So how do you sort your Bionicle pieces, if at all?

    Moar Chima Species

    So with the new episode and stuff we're seeing a lot of new tribes added to the lore beyond what's already in sets (gorillas, rhinos, bears, etc.). I've been curious as to what other species would make good tribes.
     
    A few ideas me and Bamble tossed around:
     
    Foxes (obvs)
    Hyenas
    Komodo dragons (we really need some kind of lizard, and these guys are sick)
    Sharks (SHARKS)
    Otters (need another aquatic tribe with sharks about)
    Lynx
    Porcupines (why not)

    I'm glad I've improved since. Though I really miss all the design experimentation I used to do, even if it was terrible.

    Recursive acronyms
     
    Acronyms that contain themselves.
     
    Like PHP standing for "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor" and GNU meaning "GNU's Not Unix".
     
    I already find acronyms frustrating but this is just TOO MUCH.

    4-player Lego Robo Champ

    You know Robo Champ, right? It's the only LEGO game that only goes up to 3 players, unlike most others which can go up to four. That's kind of an awkward number, so I adapted the game a little for four players.

    For the most part, a 4-player Robo Champ game can work the same as the standard 3-player version would. There are, however, a couple changes you'll need to make to the rules, but first, you'll need an extra robot. Because the game involves trading parts with other players, you'll need to build your robot in a certain way:
     

     
    1) Make sure that all limb hinges match, with the clip pieces attached to the torso. There's not much you can substitute in this area, so make sure you have enough of the correct hinges. (Just for clarity, those pieces are: Plate 1 x 1 with Clip Vertical - Type 3 and Plate 1 x 2 with Handle on End.)
    2) The neck should be two adjacent studs, which the head attaches to from the back, and must be easily removable as heads are also swappable parts.
     
    Beyond those elements, the robot can look pretty much however you like. I also recommend choosing a color very different from the other robots, because of the changes to the die.
     
    Now for the rule changes:
     

     
    This is simply the same as the standard die setup, only with the large and small white tiles taken away and replaced with tiles matching the primary color of the fourth robot. The new large tile will function just like the red, green and blue ones (which let you take a piece from the pile matching that color). The multi-colored tile side works like the standard multi-colored tile as well as the removed white tile, allowing you to either trade a piece with another player or pick a colored piece from the pile. The black tile (steal a piece) remains on the die as-is.
     
    That's pretty much the only changes needed. I actually haven't tested these changes yet myself, so if you have any ideas, let's hear them.

    Brickfair Saturday

    First off, is anyone else staying at the Residence Inn in Chantilly? That's where I'm staying.
     
    ANYWAY
     
    The lines were insane. They reached max capacity around 2 PM and the fire department had to usher the rest of the line away. I am ever so thankful I registered. Not being in that line was worth every extra dollar.
    Got to meet Laughin'Man. didn't get to talk much, but it was great seeing him. C:
    Xaeraz photobombs my mocs. ;_; (Pictured) I should probably get pics of the rest of the BZP crew, if they're cool with it.
    Bought a BZPower shirt from Bionicle Raptor. It's awesome.
    Getting stalked by Meiko.
    THE KOTH was present for an hour or so. If you missed THE KOTH you should be FILLED with REGRET and SORROW.
    Definitely met Ballom this time. Sorry again for missing you yesterday.
    Got to meet Lego Obsessionist. His present MOCs were really neat.
    Jedi Master J. was present, but no one I spoke to seemed to have noticed him. Lychir did get his Mii via StreetPass though. If you saw me and I missed you JMJ, I apologize. D:
    Had a lot of SPAZZ DANCING sessions with the BZP guys. That was totally fun.
    Nidhogg kept falling over. Had to fix numerous times. My self-moc fell off once and exploded; nearly fainted. We put it all back together though.
    Lots of people liked my hat and ears. ^w^ They kept calling them cat ears though. ;_;
    Still getting stalked by Meiko.
    Crowds finally left. Yard Sale begins.
    Spent an hour at the yard sale acquiring SWEET LOOT
    Left soon afterwards. Felt completely exhausted. Totally worth it though. <3

    Actually no I just moved into my own dorm lawl.
     
    Decided to switch from online learning to residential at Liberty University for the rest of my college years. Hopefully I'll be less of a stress monster with my less intense schedule.
     
    Been good so far. If a bit lonely before classes start and roommates moving in.
     
    So yeah that's why I haven't been around much lately. Love y'all. <3
