  1. Elmara: Spirit Of Fire
Does anyone here play it? It looks interesting, and all my friends tell me, "Oh, it's the greatest thing ever, you should totally play," but I've been dragged into these kind of things before (i.e. Dofus) and I did not enjoy that at all. I just want to know what the point of the game is. When I ask my friends, they say little more than "You dig n' stuff." Can anyone here be more serious than them?

When one has no social life, such as myself, thinking is a common pastime. A few days ago I was doing just that when i realized that Teridax's plan had a few gaping holes in it that ultimately led to his destruction. Exhibit A:

When Teridax banished Mata Nui, what do you suppose was going through his mind when he decided to trap him inside the most powerful kanohi in the universe, one that controls the power of life itself?

Exhibit B: When Teridax banished Mata Nui, why would he shoot his brother towards a PLANET? I mean, there is the possibility that Teridax had overlooked the potential for life on said planet (Especially considering the planet was basically a round desert), but before then, it would seem as though Teridax had thought of everything. Nothing could go wrong, because he had made every possible outcome work in his favor. Why not, you know, shoot Mata Nui into the system's central star, or at least not towards the nearest planet? I mean, I get this if it's the Ignika, 'cause that would destroy all life in the MU, leaving Teridax (assuming he isn't affected) a ruler of an empty world.

So, I thought this warranted a blog post. I love having a place to write down my every thought.

So, I took the advice given to me by Daiker and Wolven from my last blog post, and I made a self MOC. It's still a work in progress, but I think it's coming along rather nicely.WIP Toa of Fire

Yeah, I know my hair's in the pic.
Anyway, That torso is 100% custom. No recycled parts.

I think I might use this for a self-moc, but I'm not sure.

I'm gonna give it a try. I used to MOC, way back when the Inika torso was cool, and I have a team of about 10 Toa built all from the Inika/Piraka torso. Honestly, they've become a little boring to look at, so I decided to give 'em all custom torsos. I tried, but I couldn't get one that worked. Does anyone have any tips for custom torso building? (I didn't want to post this in the forums 'cause I felt like it would be a 'post it here' topic.)

10.Takadox once bit the head off a Makuta fish. Not to be outdone, Mantax then bit the head off of Makuta.
11.Mantax once ordered a canoe ride at Ahkmou's shop, and got one.
12.We all know that the magic word is please, as in "Please don't kill me." To bad Mantax doesn't believe in magic.

Frankly, I think the hate over Hero Factory is really silly. (I could use much harsher words, but the word filter prevents me from doing so.)

Most of the arguments against Hero Factory are ridiculous. There are basically two that Hero Factory haters fall back on (Three, if you're one of those 'Bring Bionicle Back' people). 1) Bad set design and 2) Bad story.

Okay, now that we're all familiar with these arguments, let's dig a little deeper.

    1) Bad set design. Honestly, could someone fill me in on this here? Like, I get this if we're talking about the first Hero Factory sets, but I think 2.0's set design was pretty good. I don't really understand what the deal is here. Like, I suppose there is the problem of the back being empty and such, but most of the problems could be easily fixed. The torso has great MOC'ing potential, and fixes the 'ape' proportions. I suppose it's hard to completely debunk this, but really, it's all a matter of personal opinion.

2)Bad story. Okay, this one can be broken down quite a bit. When people say the story is bad, I assume they are talking about the fact that it is so simple. It's rather silly, really. You see, simplicity, in both story and sets, was something that Bionicle had at the beginning. Seriously, this is ridiculous. We had no idea that Bionicle was ever going to end up with the elaborate story that it had. No one could have ever predicted all the things that happened. No one can predict what's going to happen in Hero Factory. You see, my brother complained about the simple story in Bionicle (He was more into complicated stories like Halo) way back in 2003. Argument: Invalid.

Okay, so I've covered the two basic arguments that HF-haters use. The third, which boils down to "I Hate Hero Factory because it replaced Bionicle is invalid. I shouldn't have to explain this, but for the sake of the argument, I shall.

Basically, this argument does not make sense because the whole premise of the hate is based on timing. Had Hero Factory come out while Bionicle was still running, guys like Makuta_Of_Oz (Yes, I mentioned you again) would not complain.

So, There it is. Yet another essay on Lego, Bionicle, and hate. Thank you for reading.

So, I think we can all agree that 2010 was a royal failure by the Lego Group. Is that the general consensus? Yes? Good.

Frankly, I think that 2008 was part of what killed Bionicle. I have been known, in the past, to defend the Mistika and the Phantoka with BURNING JUSTICE, but I agree with most people on the idea that the Toa Newva were bad ideas. I would enjoy their existance much more if they weren't supposed to be the Toa Nuva. And, before BFAHome comes in telling my my arguement is invalid (Which, if left the way it is, is true), I want to say this.

I think I speak for the majority of the Newva-haters here when I say we didn't want carbon-copies of the 2002 Nuva. We just wanted some resemblance. The Mistika were, by far, the worst of the bunch (The Toa, not the Makuta) and they needed a serious revamp. I read a topic a while ago that had a perfect description of what the Phantoka and the Mistika SHOULD have looked like.
The problem with 2008 was that it brought back the Toa Nuva in a bad way- The older fan's sense of nostalgia (Including my own) was shattered, and the story was far too comlplicated for new fans to get into the BIONICLE story. By the time 2009 rolled around, most of the older fanbase had abandoned BIONICLE completely, and those who didn't were at least beginning to. (I know this is a huge generalization, but bear with me.) Anyway, what was left of the fanbase was a bunch of nostalgi fans waiting to see if things would improve. But, how is this possible? 2009 rebooted the story and brought in new fans? Where'd they go? Well, here's the problem-

    It didn't work.

Rebooting the story was a huge mistake, as it only served to make the story more complicated. New fans did little more than buy a few sets and be done with it, and all the older fans just weren't enough to keep BIONICLE's sales up high enough to keep it around. So, in 2010, Lego decided to axe BIONICLE and replace it with Hero Factory. Bionicle died that year. The problem was, it was uneventful. It's dissapearance from the shelves wasn't that big of a deal to most of us(Glares at Makuta_Of_Oz). Why?

    2010 sucked.

The Lego Group had decided to kill BIONICLE (I feel like every time I say that, a member of the Bring Back Bionicle Club dies), but they decided they owe it to us fans to give us one last year. Bionicle was going to die (There goes another one), but Lego hadn't given it a proper funeral, so to speak.

You see, 2010 had six 13-piece sets. Each one was an idea that needed expanding. Each one was worth something. But what could that mean?

Well, let's start with Tahu. Depowered by the Ignika. But why just Tahu? Why not ALL the Toa Nuva? See, they'd use the Inika torso, but instead of the same old armor, we get a new armor pice that resembles the Toa Mata's original chest. Hey, why not give them their original masks with a +plus-rod connector instead of a stud? And improved versions of their original tools?
So, we have our good guys covered. But what about villians?
Well, that was a bit of a toughy. Originally i thought, Why not have six differently colored Skrall, but then I realized how ridiculous that would be. So, I went with Rahkshi.
Not a bad idea, if i do say so myself. We'd have:

    Rahkshi of Heat Vision (Yellow)
Rahkshi of Darkness (Black & Red)
Rahkshi of Plant Control (Green & Brown)
Rahkshi of Gravity (Blue & Silver)
    Rahkshi of Chain Lightning (Silver)
    Rahkshi of Sleep (Maroon)

Okay? Cool? So, now we have good guys and bad guys. Now, we need titans. Let's look back at the Stars.

We have Takanuva, Gresh, Skrall, and Nektaan remaining. So, now what?

Well, Nektaan would have to be a titan. He would use a spine piece like the Piraka spine, but of course with his own face and spine pattern. Also, he sould be called Nektaan on his packaging, not just Piraka. Not only is the reason for it silly (Anyone old enough to remember the Piraka would know that the Piraka were a group, not a person, and that they each had individual names), but also inaccurate.

As for Taknuva, He'd be a titan too. But, we would see the return of gold, and Taka's original mask.

As for Gresh and Skrall, if they ABSOLUTELY have to be there (Which I suppose they do, as they are the primary inhabitants of Bara Magna), then give 'em vehicles and cal 'em pilots.

The small sets, I think, should be Baterra. They'd be about Stars-sized, but awesome instead.

The final set of the year would be...Mata Nui. But certainly not TOA Mata Nui, no no. I mean GIANT ROBOT Mata Nui. Come on. You know you want it.

The story would be like this. Teridax has arrived on Bara Magna, with intent to conquer it. He unleashes hordes of Rahkshi (Bad guy sets) onto the inhabitants of the planet. They fight back (Gresh), but they are quickly overrun.
Seeing the danger, the Ignika depowers the Toa Nuva into their original forms and transports them to Bara Magna. Knowing what they must do, they battle the Rahkshi in the nme of peace, despite the Glatorian's distrust. But a new threat arrives- The Skakdi warlord Nektaan has escaped the MU, and has reformed the the Skrall army with his own intentions. With enemies on all sides, will the Toa be tripumphant? Or will they be finally vanqushed by the forces of the Makuta?

So, what do you guys think?

I had an epiphany. Does anyone recall when Takua and Jala (I'm so old school I spell it Jala) were riding Puku (OLD SCHOOL) through Le-Koro, and Takua said he hated Le-Koro, and Jala asked him if there was anywhere he DID feel at home, and he said, "I don't mind Ta-Koro." We later discovered that Takua was actualy an Av-Matoran, and thus does NOT have the natural Ta-Koronan resistance to heat. Takua has also been seen lava surfing at least twice. How can he do this without discomfort if he's not a Ta-Matoran? Or is like a psychological thing?

Finally. I got my premier membership again. At last.

It's been spring break all week, but it's been a rather uneventful spring break. We haven't gone any place, we haven't done anything, but I did get a chance to start writing my epic again. I've completely reworked everything in it, so I need to get a proper outline before I can actually begin writing and posting. But the story's fleshing out real well.

Do you guys suppose that I should delete my old blog entries, and start anew? I kind of want to, but I don't know. What do you guys think?

Clearly, I am excited. BZP was out for nearly SIX FREAKIN' MONTHS and now it's back. Rejoice.

Over the summer, I got back into Transformers again. When I become interested in something, it becomes the only thing that I am interested in. So Transformers has dominated my life since June. I really love Transformers, and I can't imagine actually NOT liking the brand. (Except Powerglide. I HATE Powerglide.)

I guess, since BZP went down, my interest in Bionicle waned a little. But never fear, for now that BZP is back and looking...well, different, it's time I get started on my stories again.

Also, I'm back at school and not liking it, to say the least. My Math teacher is like a crazy robot or something. It's freaky. She'll stand up at the board and mumble incoherent nonsense supposedly about mathematics, and then shout at anyone who doesn't understand whatever concept she may be trying (and failing, I might add) to teach. She's kind of the main villain in my life right now, so if I were a superhero, she would be the Venomath. Pretty creative, if I do say so myself.

BZP's new look is odd, I guess. I'm just so used to the old one (been using it for what, like, 5 years, now?), so it's gonna take some getting used to.

Wow. Ramblings. My LA. teacher would kill me. At least it's divided into paragraphs of similar thoughts. Anyway, how did you people spend your summer? I MOC'd, mostly. But unsuccessfully. Not a single one of my MOC's has remained intact.

My brother has a dog. A basset Hound, of all things. She's still a puppy, so she's the cutest thing on Earth, but she loves to chew things. My brother went to a music festival (Coachella) in California. The poor dog just sits at the window, waiting for him to come home. Every time I come up behind her, she turns around with a sort of expression saying, "Oh Hai! Do you know where daddy is?" When she's not at the window, she's flopped on a chair all depressed. Poor puppy.

I've made an epic. You can find it here. Readin' and reviewin' appreciated.

So, my Mom told me that I could have a set from Hero Recon Team. She bought all my brothers their sets. Today, we found out that her credit card decided it didn't want to work for a few days. She can't use it 'till Tuesday. Oh, Jake Braker, you proceed to elude me. (Jake Braker is the Hero I made for the Mission: Von Nebula game, and I just made him on HRT.)
