  1. IC: The Fire Hammer was soon rescued from it's precarious position, and David entered the battle once again. It appeared that the first group of Dino Attack agents had entered the temple. David wished he could be with them, but he was sure he would get his chance. For now though, he could make himself useful in fighting the remaining Mutant Dinosaurs outside the temple.

  2. IC:The Fire Hammer was a mere 50 yards away from where Cranky was trying to punch Dr. Cyborg. David had quickly formulated a plan. He had two regular missiles in his Fire Hammer, and one of them had been loaded into the launcher. The plan was to aim it directly below Cranky. This would provide distraction, and then Dr. Cyborg would have time to fight back."Fire!" shouted David.

  3. IC:The launcher on the back of the Fire Hammer was designed to fight off mutated dinosaurs, not Stromlings. Eventually, Dr Smith gave up hope of using it, and instead grabbed a rifle. David had already taken one. But he had a thought. If Maelstrom could infect the imagination of a being, could imagination "infect", or rather purify the maelstrom inside a being..? His query was swiftly answered when he saw Dr. Cyborg's style of fighting. It seems I am not the first to think of that idea. But suddenly, a Stromling Ape descended on Dr. Cyborg. David was not too far off to try and help the doctor. He climbed into the driver's seat and started up the engine."I think we found someone who needs help," remarked David as the vehicle accelerated.

  4. IC:The gunners were managing to hold off the mutant lizards surprisingly well. Now,thought David, is the chance."Quick!" shouted David to B's group. "Climb aboard my Fire Hammer and we can be away from here!"

  5. IC:As Semick finished his speech, David ran towards his Fire Hammer, where he found Joseph Smith waiting for him."I figured I might as well come on for the ride," remarked Joseph as David quickly turned the ignition key, put the gear box into 1st, and slammed his foot on the pedal. At high speed, the vehicle shot out of the outpost and into the artificial rampage of vehicles headed for the Maelstrom Temple. Fifty miles per hour. But then, a crackle came through on his radio."Mayday! Help! Anybody!"David looked, and saw crashed Fire Hammer. He recognized B and two other agents, fighting off some lizards."Right Joseph, you fire at those lizards, and I'll try and rescue the agents!" said David as he put his foot on the brake...

  6. IC:Although the mission briefing was imminent, David decided to do some last minute preparation. He set aside some of his equipment he could use for gathering a small Maelstrom energy sample. Even though the Maelstrom was a powerful, destructive force, while it lasted it could be facinating to research, and David did not want to miss his chance. His equipment ready, he carefully packed it into a case, which he carried to his Fire Hammer and placed it next to his seat. The outside of the outpost was packed with agents. David positioned himself at the back of the crowd, and waited...

  7. IC: As it turned out, David had no reason to be afraid. He had found his way into a clearing, got a GPS signal, and promptly found his way back. But now it was the following afternoon. David was eating a late lunch when he looked up and saw the familiar face of Dr. Smith."Joseph!" exclaimed David. "I haven't seen you for a bit. Nice to see you again.""You too," replied Joseph. "I've been here at Outpost 4 since the whole Rotor court marshal business. I've been keeping myself busy though, researching samples of maelstrom energy, would you have it.""Maelstrom energy?" asked David. "Sounds interesting, but I hope you've been keeping yourself safe. From what I've heard, it's very dangerous.""Well, it's mainly because I've been in Section 18G. We deal with research that requires more... care."David nodded in understanding. "Well, keep me posted."

  8. IC:-Five miles north-west of Outpost 4, 18 hours ago-But now, David began to get the horrible feeling he was lost. He had been on a quick scouting mission to the north-west of Outpost 4, when suddenly, he heard an explosion about 20 feet away from him, and with a sinking feeling had realised that James Carlson, the agent he had been paired up with, was gone. Turning around, he saw a fragment of twisted metal. A landmind. But why would there be a landmind here... There was no time to think about that, for the sun had set, the moon was visable, and David was around five miles away from the outpost with no map, for that too had been destroyed in the explosion.David pulled his PDA out of his pocket. Seven past nine was the time, but David was more interested in where he was. But the trees were too thick for a GPS signal. So, instead, he took out his compass and began to walk in a south east direction.

  9. OOC: It is good to be back! :DI am now 13, and I was as young as 10 when I first posted David's profile, so I'll take this opportunity to update it:Name: DavidAge: 37Skills: Technology, ScienceVehicle: Fire HammerPersonality: Reasonably friendly once he gets to know you. Background: David was born in 1973. In secondary school, he began to develop an interest for technology and science, going on to study them both at Cambridge University in 1992, and getting a PhD in science in 2000. He spent a couple of years after this working in a research facility, before being recruited by the Technological Department of Alpha Team. Eventually working his way up to field operations, David was transferred to the newly formed Dino Attack Team shortly after the beginning of the attack.IC coming later.

  10. IC (Banua): Banua took a moment to understand what the Matiran had said, and then realised he had not deactivated his mask yet. He quickly did, and the cloak of orange flames around him died in a puff of smoke. "Sorry Midak" he replied. "But setting myself on fire is kinda fun. Now, lets get this to Po-koro".Slowly, the caravan moved off again. The ussals pulling the carts were tired from a long day in the hot sun, but their endurance and the urging of their masters wouldn't let them give up just yet.

IC: The caravan soon pulled into Po-Koro. Vade had been there a few years ago on a similar trip, so the sights of the Kohlii stadium, and the bazaar were not a surprise. The matoran in charge of the trip pulled Vade over."While we're setting up a stall, if you can watch over the caravan, that would be helpful.""I think I can do that," replied Vade.
  11. Let's not do the judging thing, there are so many more opportunities,so many LEGO themes,so i'd say no to judging.Instead, let it be a free-to-post thing.Anyways, let's also bring back the good RPG's from before the shutdown, like Dino Attack RPG.-CDP

Among the old LGD RPG community, as I have said, a judge system had almost universal support. It had been looked at, in very large detail by the community, and that is what they wanted. However, I would agree that rpgs that were running and active when the forums went down should have the right to come back when the creators want it to happen.
  12. IC (Banua): With the mask now removed, the rahi was no longer under the Makuta's nefarious influence, but it was still a very large, and (Banua guessed) angry rahi. Before it could recover from the shock of regaining control, Banua returned its gravity an lowered it to the ground. He then switched the mask power he had copied for the power of a lava rat. His whole body erupted in flames, and he ran towards the stunned beast, waving his arms to scare it away.Without hesitation, the kikanalo turned tail and headed back into the desert. Banua turned back to the caravan and cracked a smile, not realising that he was still on fire and starting to melt some of the protodermis. "Well, how's that?" he grinned. I don't think that rahi will be troubling us anymore."

IC:"Oh, thank you!" exclaimed Vade, considering how to tell Banua that he was melting the protodermis. Before he could say anything, however, one of the younger, more immature matoran piped up."You're melting the protodermis!"
  13. Elections could create unwanted division, so appointed judges is probably best. Also, I'd agree with Atton Rand's proposal to have some people from COT and some from LRPG to begin with, possibly having the COT Judges phased out once they considered the other judges to be 'trained up' for the position?

  14. IC (Banua): The rahi may have been hanging in the air, but the convoy was far from saved. It still had the infected mask on, and Banua thought it was only a matter of time before it got annoyed enough to use its sonic roar. While the rahi was still thrashing about searching for a way back to earth, Banua was activating his kanohi faxon. He copied the power of a small bug he had seen in Le-wahi - small but powerful. The lightning bug, as it was called, had the power to fire off powerful electric shocks, and Banua sent a similar one up at the mask, trying to dislodge it.OOC: You decide if it his and how the rahi responds.

IC:Vade saw the shot hit. The mask half-hang for a few seconds, before it finally tumbled to the ground below.
  15. Would you want some of us from COT to help kickstart the judge team here in this forum, Than? Some outside help would seem in order, anyway, to ensure quality. Also, I'm highly against the notion of "electing" judges, IO. The judicial system is an appointed kakistocracy, in any case. :P

The former LGD RPG community considered the matter, and elected judges was the favoured option by a long way (if I remember correctly, when the idea of appointed judges was put forward, no one liked it). Also, I don't want to appear to be deliberately being difficult, but I think it would be good to have the judges selected from the community that exists, as they have experience of LEGO RPGs. There is also the danger that having judges from COT would create a 'them and us' situation, with the judges not having experience of LEGO RPGs, and the community feeling that the judges were not doing a good job.The above said, I'm not trying to be arrogant, I am merely trying to state my opinion.

If judges were to be "elected", I think restricting them to one term is silly- a restriction more along the lines of "not more than a year" would be better.

There seems to be a misunderstanding. The proposal was to allow people to serve as many times as they liked, as long as there was not two consecutive six-month terms.
  16. IC (Banua): Banua spun around in an instant and saw the rahi. A kikanalo's most common defence was to trample its foe, and this one appeared to be doing just that. His heart pounding, he pointed his staff at the animal and triggered his power. He cut off the kikanalo's gravity, and the next time its powerful back legs struck the ground in its headlong rush, it rose into the air and did not come down.

IC:Vade watched in awe as the kikanalo rose into the air, never to return. Thanks to Banua, the convey had been saved."Thank you," said Vade.
  17. To spite avoiding looking cluttered why do we really need judges? If we allow members to just make an RPG the community will speak by playing the good ones they like and ignoring the ones of lower quality.Dino Attack RPG was the longest ruining RPG on the forums before the shutdown, the fact that it has lasted this long means it is of very good quality. Why not just let Peabody start the thing? there is little debate weather or not it will be a winner.

In February 2010, an issue rose because there were two very similar rpgs running at the same time, and it was felt that the second rpg should have not been allowed to run. It was then discussed how to prevent this from happening again, and it was decided that a judge system would be the best option.
  18. IC (Banua): Banua was relieved to hear that their journey through the desert was almost over, and, so far, without incident. Still, he knew he had to remain vigilent as they approached at stony outcroppings. The caves could conceal dangerous rahi just as much as the open desert, but here, you couldn't see them coming. What would he do if a makika attacked them? He tried to tell himself that he would use his powers to get it away from the caravan without and acidic venom getting sprayed over the Matoran with him. Telling himself this, however, was not the same thing as self condidence. In fact he was so preoccupied with his reassuring thoughts that he almost missed the sound of an infected kikanalo charging the caravan from behind.

IC:Vade decided to do a quick check on the protodermis cargo. He was around a quarter through when he heard something at the back of the caravan. He looked out of the caravan, and saw a kikanalo charging them."Banua!" Vade called. "A kikanalo is charging us!"
  19. I have a few suggestions for the judge system:I think that we should have either three or five judges. That way, if all judges vote on an RPG proposal, a stalemate can be avoided. Also, judges are elected every six months, and can not serve two consecutive terms. When an RPG is submitted, it has to have a one month community consultation, where members can comment on the proposals, and the submitter can improve his proposal. After that, the judges vote on the proposed RPG.

  20. OOC: Sorry for the medium amount of inactivity from me for the past two weeks, unfortunately, I've been quite busy in real life.Vade, Banua and NPC matoran from Onu-Wahi.IC:The Trade Convoy emerged into the heat of the sun. The convoy being around a third of the way done, Selan ordered it to come to a halt."They'll be virtually no shade unto Po-Koro," he said. "This is our last chance to get some worthwhile rest."Vade reached for his water container, an item carved out of protodermis. The water was refreshing, and still reasonably cool, though Vade put that to the fact that it had been underground for a few hours.

  21. OOC: Sorry for not posting earlier, I've been quite busy. Also, there are other matoran coming, but not any other PCs.IC:Vade saw Banua coming. He walked over to him."Hello," he said. "The cargo for the convoy will be arriving in half-an-hour's time. We'll then be loading it onto the ussal carts, which are arriving shortly."

IC: "Very well" the toa replied, and thinking of the mission ahead, he continued, "I guess we're in for a bit of a wait, so tell me, where in Po-koro will we be delivering this protodermis to?" Banua could have guessed; he had travelled this way with many other caravans as a matoran ambassador to Po-koro, but he would rather talk than sit silent. "Who is the protodermis for - I've travelled this way before, so I might know him."
IC:"Well, there has been no advance sales agreement with anyone," Vade replied. "The matoran that is co-ordinating the convoy, Selan, (at that moment Vade pointed the matoran out to Banua) prefers to sell the protodermis once we get there. Due to the fact that the convoys from Onu-Koro are less often now, we'd get a higher selling price if we increase the competition for the protodermis."
