  1. Welcome, Shadow Vahki. I remember your special Rahkshi. Ah, good times. Oh, dang, I still need to make a PDF of JITL part I. Maybe that will get me off my duff to write more on part II!
  2. Wow, I'm thrilled that people are still interested in my stories. I've gotten them all into my archive (www.lilygee.com/galigees-archive) now, as nine PDFs with pictures. (I grouped the shorter stories into collections, and I spell-checked everything--embarrassing). There are also three animated GIFs and a comic (two JPGs). Enjoy! If you see any major errors, please let me know. mk7.13, thanks for the fantastic encouragement. I really did love the give-and-take with y'all when I wrote these stories. It was your enthusiasm that kept me writing, improved my skills, and gave me the guts to try my own thing. I couldn't have done it without ya. Aanchir, hello again! I'm not around here, much, either, but I pop in once in a while to see what's up in the LEGO world, and to reply to anyone still talking to me, and make announcements about my book. I do plan (eventually) to finish JITL. It's a fun story, and I have to give Takua closure! I'm done with the D2D second edit, and I've done the Con thing (see the Lily Gee site for my Zarena cosplay), so the only thing competing for my creative time is the sequel to D2D. *sigh* Not enough time! But thank God for the time I have. Well, thanks for checking in, guys. <makutavoice> I'll be back. </makutavoice>
  3. I do remember you, Terminator! It's great to hear from you. Thanks for the encouraging words. Hey, you can get the ebook for free with the coupon in the post above you, and then you can download it as many times as you like to a variety of devices. Something to read on your phone in math class or a business meeting. (You didn't hear that from me.) Enjoy!
  4. *shakes blue protodermis fist* Will you boys stop arguing in my topic? It would seem the BZP database has taken another hit, and some of my stories are lost. I've set up a GaliGee archive on my Lily Gee website (www.lilygee.com/galigees-archive), with PDFs to view, save, share, etc. If you want to comment on these, or request what stories I should upload next, please post here. Also, I just finished the second edition of Drawn to Disaster by Lily Gee, and coupon code GQ59X will get you a free ebook (expires March 31, 2014, go to www.smashwords.com/books/view/243393). Enjoy, with my compliments. And yes, I'm finally getting serious about the sequel. Thanks for stopping by!
  5. Shockwave, thanks so much for reading and reviewing! It's really good to hear that you didn't find any major plot holes. (That's one of my biggest fears.) I'm flattered that you liked the characters. I think the story is driven about equally between the plot and the characters, actually. The big plot twist is turning out to be the readers' favorite part. In the early planning stages, I considered making it an open secret, where the reader knows from the beginning even though Zarena doesn't, but it seems to work better this way. As for your specific objection, maybe I can explain it better: Does that make sense? I agree, the time on the island could have gone a bit faster. What didn't you like about the names? I'm stuck with the major ones for the sequel, but I'm still making up names for the new characters. Your feedback may help me improve Muse for Mayhem! In fact, I invite any of y'all who have read D2D to please tell me what you'd like to see in the sequel. What do you want to see more of--and less of? Any particular outcome? I welcome your brainstorms! Also, I would love any feedback on the updated video trailer, with more original pictures and a better Zarena voice. www.lilygee.com/video Thanks for popping in, people. Happy new year!
  6. <shockwave>, I hope you got a passing grade in your math class. I look forward to the review. Well, thanks to some great feedback from y'all in my video topic, I was motivated to update the trailer. Check out the new video, now with 300% more original art, and a better Zarena voice recording! (Yeah,in the beta version I relied a little too heavily on recycled cover art, and now Zarena is more how I imagine her, too.) Find it here: http://lilygeefiction.wordpress.com/video/ Or just search for it on YouKnowWhere. And... to celebrate me getting old (hey, it beats the alternative), I've posted a coupon code for those of you who didn't get a free ebook the first time. See my sig. Thanks for the love!
  7. Hey, y'all!Jean V, the narrator is of the same generation as my parents, and I'm probably of the same generation as your parents, so I imagine your golden voice is quite different. The reality-bending secret actually is related to the Hubble Telescope image. Morgoz derives his powers from the laws of quantum physics, and by pushing the envelope he manages to discover something amazing about his world. At this point D2D is only available online, but in my dreams you will see it someday in a bookstore.CHTrilogy, thanks! I agree, it is rather nostalgic. It's probably my primitive video tricks, plus the narrator's old-fashioned style (see my reply to Jean V).light Laser, I don't think my voice matches Zarena's very well, either, and I agree that I recycle the images a bit too much. Like you said, it's a promo, and I just wanted to get it out there. I'm thinking of doing another version, with a better Zarena voice and a few more images during that long pan of Zarena (the Lupenroz, the villainesses, and a couple of the mercenaries would float across the screen). And I might add music. My daughter came up with a good ominous bass line for me. :DThanks for watching it, and for posting. You've given me some good feedback!
  8. <shockwave>, sorry about your Kindle. Hope you got things straightened out. You can re-download it in any format, now that you've 'bought' it. A Princess Bride reference? Not deliberately, but I definitely see the poisoned-goblet similarity. (Twisted minds think alike.)light Laser, thanks for hanging with it! I look forward to hearing what you think (good and bad). :DAnd... I just finished the PROMO VIDEO! Check it out on my website, www.lilygee.com/video, and tell me about it in this topic. Thanks for stopping by,
  9. Hey, y'all! I just finished the promo video for my novel, DRAWN TO DISASTER by Lily Gee. DRAWN TO DISASTER videoThe narration was done by my wonderful friend Bob (if you've read D2D, you'll know why that name is significant), whose golden voice makes all the difference. He makes it sound so legit!Comments are welcome. Does it make you want to read the book?
  10. LewaLew, yes, the answer to life, the universe, and everything... Take heart, M4M will have a lot of new characters that weren't in the Makuta stories, and the plot takes a completely new direction, so hopefully you won't be bored. If repetition of my old stuff is all that disappointed you, I'm thrilled! Most of the population won't have that problem. The Gorast/Teridax idea is really funny. There's no one on Morgoz's power level, though, aside from his brother.Zarayna, tell your mom I'm sorry for being a bad influence. It's great that you liked it enough to stay awake, though! Tell me your gripes, I'm a big girl. You might help me improve the sequel. (One of my early beta readers told me my working title stank, and it prompted me to discover the play on words that now graces the cover.) Did you like the narrator's name? <shockwave>, I hope you have a nice, comfy chair and good lighting, so you'll be in a great mood when you write the review. :PThanks again to LewaLew and Wraith for their terrific reviews on Smashwords. I don't know if it was one of y'all, but someone named Kal Bluetooth just posted a great review on Amazon. The funny thing is, he mentioned the Hades and Persephone myth, which I never mentioned in D2D but plan to in M4M. Awesome! Thanks for stopping by,
  11. Hi folks. I've posted the link to Chapter 6: Sub Mission on the www.lilygee.com/bzpower page. It's where things get exciting again. (Yeah, you guys know Morgoz is real, but after the reconstruction and the party, Zarena has almost managed to forget about him ...)And if you haven't already downloaded the Drawn to Disaster ebook, do it soon! The coupon code expires tomorrow, October 31. So far we're up to 91 'sales,' including a half dozen downloads by my Sunday school friends. (Most of them aren't into shape-shifters who drive nuclear submarines, but they've been sweet enough to check it out. And maybe their kids will read it, too. )<shockwave>, I look forward to your review! Thanks for your interest, y'all! And please, tell me what you think. What's your favorite part? Was anything confusing? Did you like the characters? How do you want things to turn out in the sequel? (By the way, the working title for said sequel is Muse for Mayhem.)
  12. Thanks, <shockwave>! And good luck with your writing, too. You see where it can take you? :DWe're up to 82 ebook copies 'sold.' Check out the screen shot of Smashwords, and notice the 'sort by' parameter. You guys have put me at the top! I've gotten some really sweet comments on my blog. And, the link to Chapter 5: The Life of the Party is up on the www.lilygee.com/bzpower page, if anyone is reading it that way.Enjoy, and don't forget to review!
  13. Renewal, I loved your sappy post! I'm glad my stories have been memorable to someone. That's the most wonderful thing a writer can hear. Hey, it was you readers who taught me to compose those aggravating cliffhangers. I had to keep you coming back somehow! I hope you enjoy Drawn to Disaster. And when it's over, it won't really be over, because God willing, I will write a sequel. And as for that sequel, LewaLew, CHTrilogy, thanks for downloading the book! I hope you get the chance to read it soon. :biggrin:And thanks to the others who've downloaded D2D. We're up to 73 copies! If half of y'all actually read it, and a third of those who read it actually like it, I'll have a dozen fans!
  14. Wow, you guys are beyond awesome!BenLuke, cool! It'll be on your Kindle next time you need a beach read. LewaLew, thanks so much! Putting D2D back on the front page, and with such a great review, has stirred things up. We're up to 40 copies! I love your summary of the setup: "the supervillain decides he needs a girlfriend." That one phrase contains the fundamental conflict in the story, yes? Your description of Morgoz as alternately sincere and untrustworthy is exactly what I was going for. Zarena felt the same way. As for the revelation... yeah, how would you feel? I had a blast writing the part with the discussion board--heavily inspired, of course, by BZPower. :biggrin:shadowonua, your post warms my heart! Thanks for buying the paperback. I'm thrilled you liked it so much. Losing sleep, even! Yeah, the Lupenroz weren't lizards (which are just plain cool), but they were still fun to write. And the wolves allowed me wax autobiographical. Like Zarena, I'd always been more of a cat person, but then I met a dog who won me over. I think Morgoz had as much fun at the market as the kids did. Darn my lack of superpowers. But at least we have fiction! If you get a chance, would you mind copying your post to Smashwords (and/or Createspace) as a review? You can help me stand out among the million mediocre self-published books out there. And heck, yeah, there's going to be a sequel. The countries of the Za world will re-enact WWII, Morgoz will try to manipulate destiny, and the Lupenroz will start a rock band. (By the way, I wish I'd been hanging around BZP when your full-size steel Kraahkan topic was alive. That thing is baaaaad! ) The PDF of Chapter 4: The Light of Day is now on the BZP hidden page, www.lilygee.com/bzpower. (That stuff will stay up even after the free ebook coupon expires.) Thanks for all your support, guys! Please, give the free ebook code YA79W to your friends, and review it (especially if you like it).
  15. Hey, guys. We're up to 18 copies! Woot!Taka, I'm happy you liked it! Or, at least you seemed to. Tell me more, with spoiler tags if needed. (Click the third icon in the post editor, it looks like a green F inside a square). Congratulations on getting Morgoz out of your account. Now he's raising Cain in my stories topic. But he was provoked.Thunder on the Mountain, thanks for checking in! You may find the name of a minor character, Fieron DaMountain, to be of interest. (He'll be in the sequel, too.)iBrow Voltex, thanks! I'm really glad to be getting it out there. Let me know what you think.LewaLew, thanks for your awesome review, and the one on Smashwords. Yes, for a Makuta-GaliGee story reader, a lot of D2D is going to be re-runs. Hopefully for the general public, the story will seem less a patchwork and more a coherent weave. Well, thanks, all of y'all who've downloaded D2D and posted. As for the rest of you: go, dog, go! It's free, for crying out loud.
  16. Hey, guys! I've been hanging out in COT with my new D2D topic. If you haven't already seen my sig, the ebook is online now. For the general public, it's $3.99, but you, my friends of BZPower, are special:<3 Thanks for the love, BZPower! Use coupon code YA79W for a free ebook (expires October 31, 2012) <3 So far it's been downloaded 14 times (LewaLew even paid for it, bless his little green heart.) On the Smashwords page, for YA of epic length (>100k words), even though it's the fifth newest, it's seventh in downloads! Help me keep the momentum going, and download my free book. And read it, and tell me what you think. I need reviews on Amazon and Smashwords, too, if you're feeling eloquent. Danska, it's great to see you again! Yeah, I had to re-read JITL myself to remember what I'd written. Fortunately, way back when, I saved an outline, so I know how the story will go. It's fun to put myself into Takua's little feet again. *looks down* Oh, wait, they're bigger than mine now. Responsible adult? Pfft. Live your dream -- just don't get arrested. Taka, you are an amazingly fast reader. You said you've read D2D, too! I can't wait to see your reaction. Well, I've always tried to be consistent with the storyline, except for the part about how the characters work for LEGO and take their vacations here. Thanks for your support, everyone! Ah, darling. So you've emerged from the Dark Dimension to promote your book. How interesting that you managed to flee from me, only to land in the clutches of my worthless brother. But at least you've escaped from him, too. You may have heard that I've been unceremoniously retired from Bionicle, with naught to show for my service but a meager pension and a recurring migraine. Still, I've managed to pull a form together, and I crave to see you again. I'll be in touch. Teridax, imagine my shock to discover I have a slew of dark brothers in this world, one of whom was unscrupulous enough to hurl me back into the common unconscious to be recycled into another reality. But I'm better off for your treachery. I landed in a universe where I'm uniquely powerful. Plus, in my storyline I'm still alive. Zarena isn't GaliGee, she's her dimensional twin. When Zarena went looking for a writer to help publish her journals in novel form, the quantum connection drew them together. I've read GaliGee's stories, and it's no mystery why you failed to win her heart. It's fortunate, too--she'd have been crushed when you took that cosmic fastball to the head. At any rate, I'd appreciate it if you'd leave GaliGee alone and let her talk about Zarena's story. It'll save me the ten seconds it would take me to kick your protodermis backside. <M>
  17. Hey, y'all! I'm so thrilled people are downloading D2D. So far, 11 copies! Plus, 6 paperbacks have sold. One of those was my mom, but still... Special thanks to those who posted here. I can't wait to see your reaction. The link to Chapter 3: The History of Zarena is up now on my website, www.lilygee.com/bzpower. But of course you can download the whole thing for free until October 31 (see my sig).Takanuvainika, I'm telling you, Morgoz is persistent. Lord of Adders Black, that's exactly the idea. I don't want a trivial thing like money to get between me and my readers. Give the coupon code to your friends!LewaLew, wow! That's so sweet. How far have you read? Yes, the Za universe Pinky is very sensitive to caffeine. And like the Rahkshi, Morgoz's offspring are heck-bent on destruction. It's in their DNA. As you said, Gavron is like Onua in his mission, but the relationship is different. Except for him, Zarena's friends are all new. Her home life and history are there to get you familiar with Za and to plant seeds for future events. For instance, Zarena's martial arts training will come in handy. (I'm revealing a few spoilers for everyone, but I'll use tags if you ask really juicy questions.)Kothra, I hope you do! And tell me what you think.Read on!
  18. LewaLew, you revived some fond memories for me, riding on the back of Onua's protodermis Harley. Good times! Don't be so sure my plucky heroine won't find herself on a familiar road trip. Glad you found the extra content on my page. The cookies are pretty good, although the ingredients are limited by storyline considerations. (Zaians don't have chocolate chips.) And they're an important plot element. Hey, you share Morgoz's taste in music. And yes, the chapter titles do contain some clues. For example, the story will conclude with an epic battle. How could you expect any less from a Gee adventure novel? :biggrin:Takanuvainika, is Laeka really Morgoz, you ask? You'll see soon enough. I'd change my password if I were you... not that it'll last long. Morgoz is as good a shape-shifter--and hacker--as Makuta Teridax. As you may have read at the end of Tangled Web, I suspect that Morgoz is a Makuta who was cast into the Dark Dimension by Teridax (sweet brotherly love). He emerged with amnesia in the world of Za and met Zarena, the alternate-universe version of me. Oh, frabjous day.AND...Good people/creatures/aliens/robots of BZPower, Drawn to Disaster is now available as an eBook. Here is where you find it: https://www.smashwor...oks/view/243393It's $3.99 for the general public, but for y'all on BZPower, here's a coupon code to get a FREE COPY (valid through October 31): YA79WOnce you 'buy' it, you can download it forever in any of the formats: EPUB, Kindle, PDF, etc. Please check it out, and tell me what you think here, in this COT thread. Tell your friends, and tell your librarian. If you're moved to eloquence, review it on Smashwords, or on Amazon.Enjoy!

  20. Happy Friday, y'all. Chapter 2 is up. Go to www.lilygee.com/bzpower to read the PDF. (Well, you don't have to, but I hope you will.)Enjoy!
  21. Chocolate Milk, thanks! You guys taught me to write, no doubt. Even though my journalism for BZPower made me a target for Makuta's sinister scheme of seduction, it was totally worth it. :DLewaLew, it's funny you mention "Blast from the Past"... You may recognize a feisty Krahka-inspired character in D2D. Okay, so my next mission is to publish D2D as an e-book. I'm going through the Smashwords formatting guide now, and I should have it up within a week or so. For one price, you get unlimited downloads of all the formats they offer (Kindle, PDF, ePub, etc.). I'll let y'all know!
  22. Hey, y'all! Thanks for reading and posting.light Laser, you're welcome. The Lupenroz's real names aren't used in the story--I should probably take those out. The nicknames are enough to memorize. :huh:Kanye West, yes, my name is a dumb pun. Hopefully you'll find my writing more clever. ;)LewaLew, it's true. The beginning is deja vu to readers of my old stuff. As is the premise--the revision of history. The difference is that while Makuta Teridax is LEGO's consummate villain who will never be redeemed, Morgoz is an unknown. (My characters have taken on a life of their own as I write about them, and Morgoz has actually surprised me at times.) Why 64 powers, but only 16 Lupenroz? I suppose he hasn't gotten around to making the rest. Or they're powers he wouldn't want a kid to have. I haven't listed them all out, but I figure I should give the supernatural anti-hero a generous power count. Yes, Pinky lives! Now I'm going to have to post seven chapters so you can see Scooter in action. Chapter 7 is "Donuts and Coffee." Alyska, welcome! I'm glad you're enjoying the amphibian people. Zarena's ability to breathe water is going to come in handy a few times. But when she goes shoe-shopping, the webbed feet are a problem. :PI'm going to change the new chapter frequency from once a fortnight to once a week, because I did the math and I'm just not that patient.'Preciate you folks coming by!
  23. Thanks, light Laser! Ah, yes, the Lupenroz. Picture creatures that are half human teenager and half wolf, with lethal powers and the emotional maturity of kindergarteners. They play a pretty big part in the story, which contains elements of my BZPower epics Road Trip with Makuta and Makuta Island. (In the sequel, they'll start a rock band, a la Tangled Web. )Here's a hidden page on my website that lists their names and powers: www.lilygee.com/lupenroz.
  24. Okay, I've set up the COT thread: http://www.bzpower.com/board/index.php?showtopic=7036. I'm going to post the first six chapters on a hidden site for BZPower, to be discussed in the COT thread. I'm looking forward to your feedback. Thanks so much for all the love!
  25. Drawn to Disaster by Lily GeeThanks to a news article on BZPower, you may have heard about my recently published novel. It's a metafiction adventure that draws heavily on stuff I posted in the Epics forum a few years ago. The novel shares the premise of the Makuta-GaliGee stories: the dark, shape-shapeshifting villain captures a blue historian for his world-domination plan, and then he claims he's fallen for her. Chaos ensues as she tries to unravel the truth--and escape with her life.On my website (www.lilygee.com), you can order the paperback, and the first chapter is available to everyone. But for my friends on BZPower, who have given me good times and plentiful encouragement, I'm going to post the first six chapters. I'll be putting a link to the PDFs, one per week, on a hidden page, www.lilygee.com/BZPower. Please discuss the chapters here, in this COT thread.I'm really looking forward to getting your feedback. Chapter 1 is up. Enjoy! :kaukaunu:One more thing: I'm planning to release D2D as an ebook, and I'm wondering what format y'all prefer. What do you think is a reasonable price?EDIT: The ebook is online! Get it here for $3.99. Use coupon code YA79W for to download it for free (expires October 31, 2012).EDIT: Thanks for all the love! My ebook 'sales' are up to 95 copies, of which 87 are the code I gave y'all and a few other friends. And I have three outstanding reviews--two on Smashwords and one on Amazon. You guys are the best.
