So I've applied to work at both the LEGO Store in Burlington, MA, and the LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Somerville, MA. Basically just retail work, but it would be something a bit more personally interesting than what I've done that past couple of summers. A bit more consistent, too.

And there's the plus of being able to see people I barely ever get to see because while I spiritually live in Massachusetts I've been physically stuck in Maine my entire life.

Also, I just looked at the word "Massachusetts" for too long so it stopped seeming like a word.

Anyway, here's hoping one of them hires me.

    Eventually!

Seems there's a fancy new part coming out soon. 1x2 place with hollow studs and rounded corners. Along with all the other neat things it could be used for, one thing I want to see it used for is some kind of flag or banner material. From what little I know of the techniques, most "curve" builds use a mix of 1x3 plates and 1x1 round plates or some staggered arrangement of 1x2s and 1x1 rounds. But the new piece looks like it could maybe provide a much simpler, better-looking, and more stable way of doing that. I'm sure it'll be good for other compact curve uses too, like cylindrical shapes.

Just want to get this thought out there.

This is the Mixel joint thing I was talking about in the stream. If they released an axle-socket connector, you'd be able to replace the 3-axle neck with a ball-and-socket joint of equivalent length, leaving the gear mechanism and everything else intact.

(This isn't the best or clearest drawing, and the joint is actually upside-down from being the ideal orientation, but it demonstrates the concept better than I could probably describe it.)

Right now I'm using Toa Metru heads for my HF-upgraded Toa Mata (Lewa and Onua, who I'd shown in the hangout but weren't shown in the stream like I thought they would be, plus Tahu who's been around for a while) but they just aren't quite right for Toa Mata.

Are there any decent LDD-compatible minifig decal templates out there? Like ones that outline exactly how they apply to the torso or arms or legs or whatever. I feel like the arms are going to be annoying to do unless I can actually see how the file is mapped to the piece.

I've never really been able to tell why the missing "rib" on the lower portion isn't there. Anyone know? Better barrel fit, lower friction, some connection method I haven't discovered yet?

I dunno, this seems like it could be neat. The curve on the shin armor fits the curve of the dish pretty well. Makes me think of some speedy character who's either a robot or in some kind of super speed robot-suit.

Happy St. Patrick's day everyone! Did you all wear green?

I wore green socks. Hopefully they're noticeable enough that I don't get pinched...

    No.

    Stop saying this.

    It is incorrect.

BIONICLE was a line of constructible figures based on elements and connectors from the TECHNIC sub-line.

Hero Factory is a line of constructible figures based on elements and connectors from the TECHNIC sub-line.

Pharaoh's Quest is NOT a line of constructible figures based on elements and connectors from the TECHNIC sub-line.

Atlantis is NOT a line of constructible figures based on elements and connectors from the TECHNIC sub-line.

Alien Conquest is NOT a line of constructible figures based on elements and connectors from the TECHNIC sub-line.

Exo-Force isn't even around anymore so why are you bringing it up?

Same with Throwbots. It's been gone for over ten years.

Saying that giving Hero Factory its own forum would necessitate giving every LEGO theme its own forum is not a valid argument. Find a new one.
