Been planning to send my MacBook in to get its battery replaced since I updated to Sierra. The suggested cycle count after which to consider replacing it is 1,000, and I'm over 2,000 now.

(I have been using this laptop for five years, so I suppose this being the first maintenance performed on it is a good thing.)

One of the things the Apple site suggests is backing up all your data before any repairs, in case of problems.

So I bought a 1TB external hard drive off of Amazon. Perhaps it's a bit overkill, but it wasn't much more than the smaller ones and I wanted something I could also use in the future.

Anyway, I split it into two 500GB partitions, one to use as a backup for all the Mac stuff and one for all the Windows stuff on my Bootcamp partition. Still a bit overkill, but hey it's nothing that can't be repurposed down the line.

The payoff here is that I named the two "disks" Tikki and Plagg and here they are.

Man it is GREAT being back with all my LEGO stuff.

Everything's been at home all summer, and I haven't been. Except for this week because I needed to come stack firewood.

And I've just been up in my room like crazy, just messing around to see what I can make.

Already I fixed up Gavla, built the Makuta head, and now I'm trying to reconstruct my Daft Punk helmet's initial stage to see if I can actually try to finish it this time.

If you're playing Humans vs Zombies, make sure you go to the entire opening meeting or at least get all the info that they presented.

Because if you don't you might miss something important like how the OZs are unmarked for the first hour, have all your planning overturned about twenty minutes into the game, and get stuck as a zombie for the rest of the week.

Hey in case you missed it before, I've got two shirt designs up on WLF's Fan Forge. Basically they're candidates to be made into shirts based on how well they're rated.

They're both Miraculous-themed, because that's how inspiration works for me.

The first one is based on Cat Noir's "Cataclysm" attack and is a pretty simple black and white design that I've chosen to display on a few shirt color options.

The second is Ladybug's yo-yo and Cat Noir's staff just sort of sitting around, a bit more complex in color and design and again shown on a few shirt colors.

So yeah, it'd be helpful for anyone who can to give them a rating, even more so if you actually like them.

I'd ordered a controller from Amazon so I could play it, and that arrived today, so I kind of had to buy the game now. Was hoping it'd go back on sale but oh well.

I still think the tagline should be "It's okay, you didn't need that half of your car anyway."

Was pretty much like any other day of the week.

I didn't even remember the significance of the date until I heard some jets fly over and my science teacher mentioned that she and another teacher had heard them earlier and sort of got scared for a second.

There were really only two other points in the day that were different.

The first was the announcement of the moment of silence.

The second was a sort of "lecture" (I can't think of the right word) by my U.S. History teacher about what happened, who did it (that it was individuals, not groups), what the symbolism was, and how he had found out it had happened.

Then he sort of got off on a tangent about a thing he saw Carlos Mencia do at the end of a stand-up routine a couple of years after it. He said that he sort of just stepped back and started talking about how everyone is always getting on each other's nerves and somehow making a conflict out of everything. Then he described how the smallest little thing can escalate into a fight, and how two people could end up angry at each other over pretty much nothing, and how it's entirely possible that something could happen to one of them before they get the chance to reconcile, and how you should always tell the people you love that you love them, no matter what.

I thought about that for a while, and I wish I had the courage to.

(I apologize if this seems like it's rambling a bit; I started typing this entry, stopped for like two hours, then started again when I was tired)

I chose the name "Bfahome" in a desperate fit of non-creativity as I was signing up for the Kanoka Club on bionicle.com in 2004.  Maybe I should've thought about it a bit more, because in the following 16 years it remained my primary handle on pretty much any site or service that anyone here would find relevant.
(It stands for "BIONICLE fan at home", loosely inspired by the "Adam@Home" comic strip I remembered seeing in the newspaper.  I was told not to use the @ symbol because it tended to not play well with systems, and "Bfathome" might be interpreted as using the word "fat" derisively.  So I went with "Bfahome".  I don't think I've ever mentioned the handle's full origin story but now seemed as good a time as ever.)
So if you're wondering what becomes of me, you can find me on Twitter, YouTube, Steam, Twitch, Discord, Battle.net, and a slew of others I've forgotten about because I stopped using them or something.  Follow me if you want; occasionally I share cool things I've made, though most of the time it's just weird thoughts that pop into my head that I used to use this blog as an outlet for.
With that, I'll be "officially" logging off of BZPower for probably the first time in the twelve and a half years I've been a member.  Right now I consider it a hiatus, however extended it may be, because I still want to believe that there'll be a site for me to come back to that I can feel good about associating with, promoting, and contributing to.  As it stands now, though, there isn't.  And maybe there won't ever be.  Can't tell, and it won't be just my judgement on the matter.
I've certainly had my own shortcomings and I'm sure there have been things I've done that have contributed to the general climate of negativity that I've been ignorant of, and for those things I am sorry.  I've tried to become a better person over the years, and still have a long way to go in that regard.
Anyway, it's been fun, mostly.  I definitely got my 35 dollars' worth at least.  But this is it, I guess.
See you all on the other side.

I have been listening to Road to Jupiter constantly for the past couple of weeks. It's just such an amazing album. Some of my favorite songs are Atlas+Road to Jupiter (most of the songs segue into each other but this is the best) and As Stars Fall, but my favorite song hands-down is Lakes. I want it to be played at my everything.

I greatly advise you to check out the whole album, maybe download it and listen to it in full seamlessly (on Bandcamp there's a delay between songs that sort of ruins the flow). All of Wolfgun's music is either free or name-your-price, so if you don't feel like you can pay for it you can still download it.

Also, if you like Drum & Bass covers of English folk tunes, give Scarborough Fair a listen as well.
