Roald Dahl's books are great. The BFG's one of my favorites too, along with Witches(which is funny, because I was terrified of witches when I was little. =P)
Just think of all the innocent people killed along with the Nazis. You can change anyone's mind if you try hard enough. It wouldn't have been easy, but it could have been done.
