So, for those of you who don't know, I am no longer living in Canada and I'm living in Nice, France for the year as I study French as part of an exchange with my school.

When I have time, I'll probably update my blog with details on this trip as well as my summer, but a lot of my time has been devoted to settling in and exploring.

Guns, scary elves, and bail; suspect freed

    By The Canadian Press

MONTREAL - A man who allegedly armed himself with high-powered weapons because he believed elves were stalking him has been granted bail.

David Abitbol will have to respect a number of conditions which include surrendering his firearms and not using electronic devices like computers to communicate with others.

His father has also agreed to post $25,000 bail.

Testimony at his bail hearing revealed that Abitbol thought he saw elves everywhere and needed the firepower to keep them at bay.

Found this article on Yahoo! News. The article goes on to mention a few things which I can't post on the site, but suffice to say that he's been caught doing some bad things. Now tell me this article isn't the sort of thing to appear at the end of an Artemis Fowl book.

    Well, sort of.

This time it's inside me as opposed to my computer. This morning I had trouble waking up and felt really nauseous. When I wasn't even able to take two bites of cereal (which hopefully was weevil free), my parents decided I should stay home for the day. I had a nap and a small piece of turkey pot pie (leftover from Canadian thanksgiving) and I'm feeling better now, but certainly not 100%.

On a more positive note, I beat Lego Star Wars II over the long weekend and I'm almost done VNOLG so if my other computer is fixable I will have a charmed life.

And now for a brief review of recent stock trends with our financial expert SPIRIT.

Shares in ORLY dropped 0.27 points, AFK dropped 0.34 points, BRB dropped 0.05 points, GTG remained neutral, IMHO dropped 0.670 points, and BFF remained neutral.

Truly this is not a good day for stocks humorously bearing the names of common Internet abbreviations.

Have you seen my entry for Epics Contest #8 yet? It chronicles a surprising twist on the events in Chapter 33 of Wildfire (i.e. the Jaller vs. Vakama chapter) and above all, it contains a huge explosion!

Gape in awe as minor characters are given DEPTH.

Be amazed at the introduction of a NEW WEAPON.

And like I said before, there's a HUGE EXPLOSION.

    Read it TODAY.

Hey, folks. It's the time of year where kids from 1 to 92 are writing their letters to ol' Santa Claus and before you finish, allow someone who has experienced many Christmases to give you a piece of advice that he has learned from the ages.

You might be asking yourself, "what platform should I get this game on? Nintendo DS or one of the consoles?" The answer to this is quite simple:

DO NOT GET A MULTI-PLATFORM GAME FOR THE NINTENDO DS.

99/100 times, it will result in disappointment. For some reason or other, despite the DS being a highly versatile and powerful system, developers put an incredibly much smaller amount of effort into making games for it that also have platform versions. Granted, there are exceptions to this, where the DS version is greater than or equal to the console game (BIONICLE Heroes, for instance), but unless your family has an orchard of money trees, it's not worth the risk.

Instead, go for the DS-exclusive games. 100% of the developers' time and effort has gone into making it and it's pretty much guaranteed that they're better than the multi-platform ones.

And that's my bit of Christmas advice for you.

So the C key on my computer's keyboard had a nice trip through my house's central vacuum, but I got it back.

That is all I have to say on the matter.

Recently I managed to find someone selling the Bionicle Quest for Makuta board game online. It was in pretty good condition. An excellent addition to my collection.
I also picked up a few other board games. Just something to do with the kids I work with. One of the games was Monopoly. What did I find inside the box?
    A single Cordak bullet.
The evidence speaks for itself. Family game night turned violent, the Toa Mahri intervened, and there were no survivors. 😔
    Open and shut case.
    Bake him away, toys.

Today I thought it would be a good idea to go through my e-mail inbox and see if there was anything I should delete. A few minutes in, I was shocked to find an audition and an audio question for Treespeak on the Air both dating back several months! Quickly I sifted through all the episodes of the show as well as my PMs, but found nothing to indicate that I had done anything with these e-mails or even replied to them. Frantically, I sent PMs to the members from whom the e-mails were sent and waited for a response. Luckily, it turned out that in both cases, it had already been discussed and I had just forgotten about it. :annoyed2: In an ironic twist of fate, my worry about all this made me forget to ask my dad if he could pick up a copy of Bionicle Legends 3 for me on his way to Chapters.

Well, I hope you can all learn from my misfortune so get out there and delete as many e-mails as you can!

I have done it. 100 000 years of events cobbled together into a coherent series of events. The BIONICLE Reference Centre's timeline is fully up to date! Have a look, let me know what you think, and please let me know if there are any mistakes.

And now, I embark on a new, top secret project for the Reference Team. All very hush-hush for now, but I'm pretty sure you'll like the end product. To my knowledge, nothing of this sort has been done before and I think it's about high time it has been.

That's all I say for now, but stay tuned for some very fancy Reference Keeping.

Oh, the Barraki only wish they had it as good as I do.

Yup, that's right, Bionicle Artwork III: Bionicle Comics is now under my control (I suspect it had something to do with my PSA ). This now places me in a tie for second with ET for working in the most forums; Kex, alas, still has one more than us. I have also made a lateral movement from Software to Sets. I rather liked the Software forum, but given that nothing new in the way of BIONICLE video games, etc. has come out recently, I wasn't getting much to do there.

Will the vast SPIRIT Empire continue its expansion over the rest of the forums? Stay tuned.

As for my real life, I'm doing okay (as far as anyone can be going back to school ). I'm recovering from a slight cold, but otherwise things have been pretty normal (certainly less adventurous than looking after a bunch of 4-11 year olds over the summer ).

    A PS3.

I also got LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga and Prince Caspian for it, but I'm hoping to get more games in the coming weeks, preferably ones that actually have Trophies enabled so that I can feel as though I've accomplished something while not actually having done anything at all. Any suggestions?

So, I had been under the impression that LEGO cancelled my Club Magazine subscription as I haven't gotten a magazine in over a year. Turns out my dad has been throwing them away because he mixed up the Club Magazine with the LEGO Catalogue. :annoyed2:

Thanks a lot, Internet, but you've ruined cookies for me.

I, for one, have always been a staunch supporter of offering people cookies sarcastically for non-accomplishments, but I'm afraid that it's gone too far and such phrases like "good for you, have a cookie" or "you deserve a cookie" have become cliché, overused, and watered down.

Are you proud of yourself, Internet?! Would you like a cook-- wait... :annoyed2:

On a completely unrelated note, there are tiny white bugs living in my DS Lite.

It was one afternoon ago on this day that I received an unexpected instant message from none other than Black Six. "SPIRIT," he asked me in a now paraphrased way, "how would you like to be a staff member?" Without a second's hesitation I said yes as calmly as I could type it, but my heart rate just about tripled. Well, here I am now, and what a journey it has been. I'm an RK, one who worked on revolutionising BZPower's reference system, and am working in seven forums right now. In my personal life this year, I've been all across the continent for various reasons and have seen and done some pretty amazing stuff. I got my G2 driver's license, read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in about 13 hours, excelled at my job working at a day camp, and released a smash-hit PSA.

Of course, now the pressing question is where can I go from here? Forum Leader, perhaps? Do I have the time or the experience? Time will tell.

I recently had my 17.5th birthday; not much longer until I'm an official AFOL. For me, though, it's not a question of money or maturity for whether or not I'm going to buy more sets -- nor has it ever been -- it's going to be a matter of space. Where will I put them all when I'm off on my own?

Oh well, enough about the confused worries of tomorrow and back to the present. I'm working on finding the right university as well as balancing my seven high school courses. It's tricky, but I'm getting there. I've also got this weird twitch in my right eye recently, which, according to Chinese tradition is good luck (that or I need more sleep ).

And one quick skip back to the future, I've got some ideas rolling around my head for the next PSA. I've got a few cutaways planned already and a very rough plot. Estimated release time? Februaryish? I'll keep you posted.

Officially, it's not a REAL snowday, but this is the second day in a row that the school buses have been canceled and since I barely did anything yesterday (and am almost certain that I'd accomplish even less today) my parents have decided to let me stay home today. Thank you adverse weather conditions!

Let the record show that I am psychic.

    From nearly 3 years ago.

I called the release of LEGO Harry Potter done by Traveller's Tales.

Not only that, but I'm going to make another prediction based on other things I've seen and read lately: this will be one of the greatest games of all time.

The great SPIRIT Empire grows ever larger as another forum is added to my control. Quiver in fear as Bionicle Software gets a new moderator: me. I can only imagine the high-jinx that will ensue now that I'm working with Dr. Bionicle; races to see who can close a particular topic first and whatnot. Bets can be placed at any time, just send the money to me and I'll sort everything out.

Basically, here's what happened: Black Six IMed me yesterday and asked me if I'd be willing to take on another forum. I obliged and he gave me a choice between M&B and Software. It was a pretty tough decision, but I decided that since Bionicle Heroes was coming out soon, Software would start to see quite a bit of action in the upcoming days.

Well, let's hope this works out as well as my other forums. And just think, if Black Six keeps up his pattern, I'll be getting another forum in about two weeks from now.

Today, while collecting the mail, I noticed something odd. Among the various bills for my parents, there was a colourful magazine that said LEGO on it. Now, ordinarily, this would be a cause for joy, but in this case, it was one for confusion. I had already gotten my May issue and two catelogs had just come yesterday, so could this possibly mean that I had, by some miracle, gotten the July issue before everyone else? Upon closer inspection, I saw that it was merely the May issue again. Now, the ironic part to this tale is that for some reason unknown, I never received my March issue, so now I have 2 Mays, but no Marches. Oh well.

Also, for anyone who still cares, there's a new chapter of Wildfire that's just waiting for reviews.

They stole it from us... sneaky little Hobbitses! Wicked, tricksy, false!

As you may or may not remember, I posted a joke in my blog for the heck of it, right after checking on Google that it hadn't already been made and that there were no variations on it.

So I'm in the hospital with my broken leg, when my parents bring me the July 2009 issue of the Canadian Reader's Digest. What do I find on page 25, but a joke submitted by one Phillip Tilley:

How come Sherlock Holmes never paid any income tax? Brilliant deductions.

So either Phillip and I have a psychic connection or there is a thief in our midst!

Got bored. Got an idea. Wrote a story.

It's supposed to fit within what's already been established for BZ-Nui. I dunno... I have mixed feelings about it since I don't think it's my best work. Check it out if you want, so that maybe you can get an idea of how to write a much better one yourself.

So after the party on the 26th, I pretty much just spent time with my family at home (although we did go bowling once and I won ) until Saturday, where we all went to the airport for the second leg of our vacation. We spent a night in Buffalo and then we drove to the airport and caught a plane to Baltimore. From there, we hopped another plane and reached Tampa Airport in the late afternoon. The rest of the week was just spent visiting Busch Gardens, going to the beach, swimming in the pool, and lazing about the condo we had rented on Anna Maria Island (on the far west side of the state, about half of the way down). I had a fantastic time, and I beat Maze of Shadows (overall, a pretty neat game). Saturday rolled around and we went back the same route we had come and arrived back home at around midnight.

Now it's back to school for me.
  23. SPIRIT
Well, it's been long overdue (considering how quick I revamped the Sets forum), but I've finally redone the Software rules. The forum's a bit more exclusive now, but on the other hand, there are less official topics to keep track of as well as less irrelevant topics to have to sift through.

So come one, come all, let's rekindle some discussion about software... or something...
