This is a topic for choir discussion in general. I wanted to make a topic for a specific favorite choir, but I realized that there was a whole lot more to talk about than just one and it would be ridiculous to post another topic specifically to talk about them if they're so closely related.Anyway, I'm in a choir but don't particularly enjoy it, so I've made it a one semester deal. I like singing, but I avoided joining choirs for a long time because I don't enjoy getting lost in a sea of voices while trying to sing my bit in the harmony. I came to that conclusion back in fifth grade. So don't ask me why all these years later I'm in a choir again. The only reason was because last year's choir president told me that if I didn't go out I was a fool.I don't know. There are things about choir I like, but other things that I don't like. I think that what gets to me is that around 80% of my choir is female. I've moved past the stage where I feel inherently awkward by this situation, but it's still not the right atmosphere for me, because I don't feel the chemistry. I think I would definitely prefer an all male choir.Speaking of which, I would like to say that hands down the most awesome choir I have ever listened to is The Vocal Majority. Unfortunately, their 8-disk long 20th Century Collection is a collectible and only has 3000 copies in circulation. I personally would have loved to have that. Well, though a little inconvenient, I still get to hear them from time to time on Pandora Radio, the only place online where I can find any of their music. Though I have yet to find anything comparable to the 20th Century Collection, I have managed to find individual albums by them on Amazon, and am highly considering buying several over Christmas break. I would suggest you look at their stuff. You won't regret it.- I'm Tron Paul and I approve this post.
