Of Men and Demons (A short story set in a Bionicle-, Hero Factory-, and Armored Core-centric crossover AU named Mechanized Memories.)

Dear Amshey, why do people with powers suffer for life,
And the demons that come from some of them instinctually cause strife?
Was it because of these effects being part of the design of having supernatural abilities,
Or was it something else that's making them liabilities?

And as for you, my dear Amshey, do you have any theories and even hypotheses of yours?
If so, tell me some and maybe even more.
After all, everything we know about what's going on is that some people are given powers,
And these powers are dangerous and make even their wielders cower.

However, some of those people perish,
And if they do so thanks to the powers they maybe would've cherished,
Then they're reborn as demonic and powerful undead with destructive capabilities,
With bodies that adapt to their preexisting abilities.

Alas, I think that it's best to pursue the knowledge we must seek,
But now we must have a break until next week.

"Hmm... so this is the content of the letter labeled 'To Amshey, From Dyllin (Dated 1/3/2007)', huh? I guess that the history of Demons did stretch back to the early 21st century and sometime before that. Better stock up on some more knowledge sooner or later." - Kopaka (II), explorer, Toa of Ice, and somehow named after the original Kopaka.

Yeah, this is both my first official fanwork of BIONICLE and the first piece of my fan literature ever I published on this site. 😃

I put in some effort to this, so what do you think? I'm curious and I just wanna know. 🤔

It's too short to say much. I'm also not familiar with Armored Core, I just did a quick read of it on Wikipedia and it makes the passage here make a little more sense, but it's still too little to say it's written well or poorly.

I don't exactly know either, even though I intended to set this poem in the distant past of the Mechanized Memories setting (specifically before the events of Armored Core 1), with Kopaka (II) (the main character of Mechanized Memories) discovering this message long after that.
