Yay Free Shipping... oooh nevermind

So I recently received an email from Lego stating they were sorry for some of the errors with the bionicle sets on lego shop at home, and that as a way to say sorry they were offering a code for free shipping. Now luckily before I got my hopes up I read further down and guess what... The code is only valid in the contiguous United States and Canada. This basically means that i'm SOL for using the free shipping since alaska, along with Hawaii, is not part of the contiguous united states.

So pretty much I have a code that is useless to me. But this irks me so much. It's oh we are sorry lower 48's, here have free shipping. *Alaska and Hawaii stands outside, faces pressed against the glass with big puppy dog eyes*

Also I'm not sure if giving out the code is against bzpower policies, hence why I'm not.

Would the code even work for someone else anyway?

No clue, I don't believe it is linked to my lego club account, since I didn't use that to sign up for the notification.

Why not contact them and ask for a code you can use?

Thing is, with most free shipping alaska and sometimes Hawaii is left out just due to how expensive shipping is to those locations. Majority of the time any actual shipping has to cross the ocean due to the locations, which severely raises the costs. So even if I Asked them for another code, it likely wouldn't be free shipping which is the only reason i would purchase the sets from lego themselves, instead of amazon for example which does offer free shipping even to alaska if I purchase over a certain amount.

Technically, Lego ALSO has free standard shipping for orders over $75, and I don't seem to see anything ruling out Alaska and Hawaii there (it does say they could take longer, and that a surcharge is added to next-day shipping, but it seems like the free standard shipping still applies).

Since the new Bionicle sets amount to way over $75, you might be able to make use of that.

I was not aware of that Lyichir, so thank you for letting me know that. Though given I only have to pay have over $35 on amazon compared to $75 on lego to qualify for free shipping I think I will be sticking with Amazon, plus i've already bought Kopaka, The protector of ice and LotS from amazon.

But that is good to know come the summer sets, when I may actually take advantage of that.
