Lightning McQueen takes part in a worldwide race across several countries, while Mater finds himself accidentally entangled within a web of super spies and super villains.
I don't think this is going to come as a surprise to anyone, because to put it in simple words: Cars 2 lacks the magic touch. Every other Pixar film (yes, even the first Cars film) has a magical feeling the pervades throughout, a sense that the filmmakers truly cared about every facet of the film. A feeling that there was something different about the movie, an experience you simply wouldn't be able to find anywhere else.
Cars 2, however, fails in that regard, and that to me is the major downfall. In addition, the plot is something we've seen a million times over- some random shuck becomes involved in stopping some mastermind's twisted scheme, and it begins effecting everyone he knows. It doesn't help that Mater just isn't the type of character I like as the lead either. The relegation of Lightning McQueen to a mere secondary character stung, and I actually enjoyed his plot involving the big race more than Mater's.
That's the story in brief with my thoughts on Cars 2- if you have any questions or arguments against its rank, feel free to comment below and I will respond. Now, for a little hint towards the film ranked twelfth:
hello, dolly.
