What are the top ten films I'm looking forward to this year?
Because last year six of my most anticipated films landed on my end of year top ten, while I didn't even end up watching two of them.
MOST ANTICIPATED FILMS 2015
1. The Avengers: Age of Ultron - I don't think this one really needs explaining. The Avengers was great and I think that Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy might be my two favorite Marvel films, so they're in a good spot. Hopefully this matches the hype.
2. Spectre - Ever since Skyfall was released back in 2012, I've been looking forward to the eventual sequel; plus, rumor has it that Christoph Waltz has the part of the main villain, and I'm hoping it can match his performance as Hans Landa. I love Christoph Waltz.
3. Jurassic World - Will this movie be good? I don't really know. But I do know that Chris Pratt with a Raptor Gang is something I cannot miss.
4. The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials - Let's see them keep it up! Scorch Trials was my favorite in the original book trilogy, and I'm hoping that the crew can continue the magic onscreen.
5. Inside Out - The Good Dinosaur was originally my most anticipated Pixar project, but the numerous problems that have popped up during its development have me more worried than excited. However, everything I have seen and heard of Inside Out is good, and I hope it can match the likes of Pixar's early works.
6. Jupiter Ascending - I admit I was merely cautious of the film until recently; but I'm starting to get excited. Will it be as good as The Matrix? Doubtful. But perhaps it can be a great movie just the same.
7. Mad Max: Fury Road - This just looks like a fun movie.
8. Ant-Man - Cautiously optimistic. Edgar Wright's departure worries me and I won't be surprised if the film suffers for it. But rumor says it's a heist film, and I'd love to see Marvel try their hand at that genre.
9. Cinderella - I keep hearing good things about this movie and I'm getting sucked in! It does look very good, and it'll be a nice change of pace from the rest of the stuff I'm seeing this year.
10. Fifty Shades of Grey - HAHAHA NO
10. London Has Fallen - I preferred White House Down out of the two "terrorists take over the White House" films back in 2013, but I still enjoyed Olympus Has Fallen and I'm interested to see where they take it in this film.
OTHER FILMS IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:
-Star Wars: The Force Awakens (I remain wary of JJ Abrams and am waiting for a real trailer that gives us a hint of what to actually expect)
-Furious 7
-The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (This is make-or-break; is it worth it?)
-Terminator Genisys (just to see the timeline mess)
-Tomorrowland
-Kingsman: The Secret Service
-The Peanuts Movie
