People are complaining about Lewa's mask... Entry posted by Kaleidoscope Tekulo March 5, 2015 882 views Share
 Followers 1 ...and I'm just like
xccj Posted March 5, 2015 It doesn't look anything like the original. It takes more effort to pick out similarities, IMO. GET WITH IT. (IMO not a bad mask but I've been complaining about the masks of ever new iteration of those Toa since 2002, so why stop now?) 4 Quote Link to comment
Aanchir Posted March 5, 2015 Yeah, I definitely like Lewa's new mask. Its similarities to the original are subtler than the others, but I think it's definitely still recognizable and still fits the character, especially since the gaps in the cheeks that gave the Miru its distinctive "grin" are immediately evident on the new one. 2 Quote Link to comment
dotcom Posted March 5, 2015 I still don't understand how people say Lewa's mask is the one that doesn't look like the original when Gali's exists. I mean. Really now. I didn't like Lewa's mask too much at first, but ever since I got him it's steadily been growing on me. I think it might be my favorite now? Either his or Gali's. Which is to say. Both of the ones I didn't like much at first. Weird how that worked out. 1 Quote Link to comment

Yes! I agree with this 100% @xccj: His mask is fab. Lewa is fab. You do not diss the fab. @dotcom: I was also initially weirded out by those masks (for like a minute) but then I looked closer and they grew on me too. @Dorek: ... I... I don't know how to respond to that... Quote Link to comment
Aanchir Posted March 6, 2015 I still don't understand how people say Lewa's mask is the one that doesn't look like the original when Gali's exists. I mean. Really now. Well, when I was writing my Lewa and Gali reviews for The New Elementary, I felt like I was able to pick out a lot more similarities in Gali's mask than Lewa's from a side-by-side comparison. They are both altered pretty radically, though. Perhaps people have an easier time forgiving Gali's mask for its differences on account of how unpopular some of her previous masks have been. Lewa's previous masks, by contrast, have generally been well-received, so people have higher expectations of the new one. 2 Quote Link to comment
