I found DW to be pretty hard to get into. I watched the first few episodes all at once but I thought they were pretty ungood, so I put off watching it for, like, months or such. I think DW is a pretty mixed bag all around. The series I've enjoyed the most so far is the fifth, and it's really just that series that had me satisfied all around.

 

Eccleston is pretty great at the role, though, and every series has some pretty great episodes. Series 1's The Empty Child/the Doctor Dances is so so good.

Watch Blink

Blink is two series off from where he's at, though, though I recommend that as well. =P

 

It only gets better, though; and while dotcom has a point about it being a mixed bag of episodes, I find there's a lot more good episodes than boring ones. =P But maybe that's because I tend to like more things than others anyway.

For some reason I've always imagined you as a Whovian.
