apparently he's the Lego art director whose name was the inspiration for the Order of Mata Nui member Tobduk?

 

I always knew of him before as the vocalist of the legendary Boston metalcore band Aftershock, which he formed alongside his brother, Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz.

 

I guess this explains the "Lego, Let's Go!" official promotional music video featuring a pretty neat original hardcore punk song credited as being written by Toby.

If it weren't for the promotional music video you mentioned I'd assume a coincidence. But since the Toby who works for LEGO is also a metal enthusiast and lives in Massachusetts, I guess they probably are in fact the same person!

 

Always funny how people you recognize from elsewhere tend to turn up in your fandoms from time to time.
