Thank You, Lieutenant Sarcasm

This is what I've written as part of a paper (essay format, supposedly) that I'm turning in tomorrow. Honest to goodness, word for word.     Consider the effectiveness of the movie in communicating its message. As a tool of communication, what are its strengths and weaknesses? The film is quite effective in communicating its message. It scares people into germophobia and educates them on the worst-case scenario. Its strengths include fake blood, crying children, scared families, desperation, d

Be A Troublemaker

Do you feel unjustly treated? Want or need to get something done? Don't be afraid to talk to people! And perhaps appeal then to even more people! Ask around! It'll get people talking and then that something WILL get done!   That's what I did, and then I had half the campus offices talking to each other and getting things done, the way they SHOULD be!   Raise some ruckus! GET RESULTS       (so pumped right now!)

Look at this, this is pretty cool! In the last 3 days, BZP News & Commentary has been graced with five different categories of stories in a row. The only one missing is Reference.

Slack Not You!

Compliments of Google Translate:     Do you have a paper that needs editing? If you are unsure that your resume or letter seems professional? Is your writing ability only moderately medium?   Then you need me!   I can help with all these things. I have five years experience in editing, depreciation, and CV writing. You can drop a paper, or make an appointment so that we can work together. A well-written paper or may even improve confidence in your CV, you give a good grade or get a job!

Reach

BEFORE all you hardcore Halo players attack me for not playing Reach sooner - I was busy with homework, work-work, chores, and Halo Wars.   And before you RTS-haters attack me for playing Wars - I unashamedly like playing it and I'm totally on the road to getting all the achievements.   and so BTW the reason for this entry is that I LOVE the way that my Halo: Reach personal character is the one showing up in the gameplay and cutscenes.   REALLY LOVE IT.   The rest is kinda boring, and I stin

Free Lunch

I just realized that I don't have to pack a lunch tomorrow - they're holding a reception for honor students! So I'll go, pick up my certificate, shake some hands, and eat from their table.   I would go and tell my Macroeconomics professor that I'm getting a free lunch, but the fact of the matter is, I worked really hard for it.

Penne And Spinach Pasta Toss

Here's that 'tortellini' recipe I made at BrickFair! This way, it's easier to share.     Prep time: 5 minutes (they lie) Cook time: 20 minutes (they still lie) Serves: 4 (yet another untruth)   Ingredients: 8 oz. penne or ziti pasta, uncooked ----> You can substitute or mix in any noodle you like, including elbow (macaroni) noodles and Tortellini (I like the Buitoni brand 3-cheese tortellini.) cups (8.0z) spinach leaves (torn, baby, or large, all of them are fine) (frozen spinach works GR

Brickfair

I have not yet made a blog entry about BrickFair '10 because there was too much awesome to physically fit into this blog.   And also because I have not yet had enough sleep.   But I would like to link to a few things relating to the awesomeness of BrickFair and attempt to break my own previous statement pertaining to physics (I'm not so good at science anyway):   Hahli Husky's BrickFair Shoutouts   The Awesome Steve Witt gets promoted to Forum Mentor post-BrickFair   Nuju Metru's BrickFair

Pohatu > Chuck Norris

During the original battle for Mata Nui, Pohatu roundhouse kicked Makuta in the face, and that kick created Chuck Norris.

Oh Look! My Spinny!

I totally forgot that since it's July, I got my seventh year spinny. I missed my own anniversary by 13 days! Shame on me. I'd tell you that it's because I'm busy with work and important things and even trying to be busy on BZ at the same time, except... er... well yeah, that's the truth, akshully. XD So here's to seven great years, and to BZPower's own upcoming anniversary, and so much sappy stuff you could mop it up off the floor and re-use it elsewhere. Maaaataaaaaa Nuuuuuuuiiiii spiiii

Snail Mail Fail

There was something I really, really needed to pay. And it had to be paid via check, via snail mail. No problem. But for some reason, I kept slacking. And slacking. And slacking. So finally, I wrote the check. Hooray! Ready to mail it in the morning! The next day, on my way to work, I dropped the envelope in the mailbox, sealed, and went about my day. When I got home, my dad took something off the kitchen table and showed it to me. My check. Apparently my little brother had found it

Epic Typo Is Epic

We Bionicle fans get a lot of rap from Adult Fans Of LEGO, mostly for the reason that Bionicle pieces aren't really LEGO Bricks, they're... weird pieces with the occasional stud. Whatever. We love Bionicle. Not all AFOLS have to. In fact, now AFOLs don't even have to like LEGO, period!     Hahli Husky - "Well yanno, most AFOLs hate Lego!"     Score five points for mistyping!

Save Me

Dear friends, some professors are not fit to lead the classes they teach. I have one such professor. Tomorrow is the final. Then I will never have to suffer the man's awkwardness or lack of ability in his own area again. (But I doubt I'll get out of there alive. I might die of a conniption first.) After Monday, I'm on to better things! ~ *And that, my friends, is a VERY happy thought!*

Panic In The Streets

OH GOSH NO.     asdf I was sitting here, happily typing up my news piece in the web browser for today, when my window suddenly disappeared and I was cheerily informed, "Firefox has crashed! Haha, sucker. We'll try to restore your window if you want. Might as well report the problem to us, while you're at it. Say good-bye to your article, though!"   Having absolutely no choice in the matter, I told it to restart. Thank heavens it brought up my window with my text all in it, but egads, when was

Flea

*prances throughout her university hallways and passes through her Blog* I would make you all help me out with this like HahliHusky has been doing, but I know none of you know this ditty! FOR SHAME. You gotta keep the beat with your hands - pat them on your lap or on the table, then clap, back and forth for a one-two-one-two beat. The first word, Flea, takes two beats (lap, clap) and when the crowd repeats 'flea', it takes the second two beats. No, I don't expect ANY of you to understand or g

One Sob Story Away From A Bad Country Song

Play that country song backwards and the poor guy'll get his dog back, his woman back, his car back, probably even his house and land back. Meanwhile, here's a list of strangely-titled country songs, some of which are comedy and a couple of which may not even exist: Am I Double Parked by the Curbstone of Your Heart?
