Alright, so Ehksidian and I both thought that we might want to provide hints to the others partaking in the Secret Santa event. During a SS that my workplace had, my boss put up a sheet with our names on it, and we were to write down what we liked so whoever got our names would have an idea of what they'd like to get. Now, we have profile pages here, and records of our posts/topics, but that only goes so far, especially for those that haven't been here very long. Hence, this post. Here, thos
This isn't how I expected my break to start off. My laptop, for the uninformed, seems to have the personality of an aggravating hypochondriac with a weak immune system. I got it last year for Christmas, and in that time has caused me three headaches -- the first was caused less than a week afterwards, when it started freaking out about viruses that didn't exist; the second was when it completely failed and needed a system reboot back in March. This time, it keeps blue screening when I try to
Alright, time for the recap! Getting to Seattle was difficult, mostly because Akaku and I didn't have access to my car -- and in any case, I had no experience driving downtown. We wound up taking a bus or two. Not the most efficient, or comfortable, way, but it got us there. Things seemed both a bit packed and yet not as packed this year. Lots of impressive MOCs, though! Special note to a remote-controlled R2-D2, and a remote-controlled mouse droid (those rolling toaster ovens that ran aroun
I dunno how many people here read my stuff, but there's an organization in Reborn called the Matoran Militia, which acts as the police force for the city of Aonui. While I have some characters set for it (mostly the leadership), I do need a few characters to help fill out the roster. That's where you come in. I'm opening up slots for guest stars in my epic to act as the protectors of the City. Starting from the next chapter (Chapter 3), said guest stars will begin to appear and take part in
Mayans: the world's oldest trolls? ... jokes aside, I highly doubt that tomorrow will be anything other than the average Friday, not the apocolypse or the 'dawn of a new age' as the New-Age people are calling it. Since whatever's supposed to happen is supposed to happen around 5 AM, I'll probably sleep right through it. So, if I don't wake up from earthquakes tomorrow, or I'm unable to move things with my mind (as the New-Ageists are saying I will be), I'm going to have a nice time laughing
My parents brought Teddy to the vet this morning to see if they good give her some saline water to help with her dehydration problems. My cat gets very stressed out when she's brought places in a car, and she doesn't like the vet's office very much because there are other animals there. That's probably why, when they got there, her condition deteriorated to the point they needed to put her on a respirator to help her breathe. After considering the options, we decided she was too weak to try an
Assuming you have wi-fi in that trunk of yours (or were let out), I've got news for you. Your commission is cast and nearly ready to be shipped. =P Still needs a little cleaning work, but I like how it came out. Also, it's friggen huge on my finger. Hope you like it; it's practically the only thing that went the way it was supposed to this week.
I've been thinking about making a final break with BZP for a long time now. Heck, I've been doing so in all but name for the last year or so, when I was barely active. But after this latest hack, enough is enough. Most of my work is gone, victims of the various hackings and data losses. Most of my friends have left already. My reader base here is not enough for me to have the motivation to continue Wings or Break of Day -- here, anyway. My friends know where to find me online: I use this sa
So for the last couple years at WWU (this year and the year before that), I've been living in the same dorm room. This is a problem. Why? Well, the room I'm in has a reputation for having an insect infestation every spring quarter. My first year here, it was silverfish, though I was fortunate to not have to deal with them. The last two years, the years I've been living in the room of evil? Carpenter ants. And not just any carpenter ants. My roommates and I have had to deal with the reprodu
OR: How I did nothing of global significance in the past 6+ months, in no particular order. Moped about the forums Finished Chapter 11 of Wings
Purchased Halo: Reach
Got good at Halo: Reach
Reached Level 25 Prime in all War For Cybertron classes
Handed Krayzikk his aft on a silver platter
Scared Akaku in Halo: Reach
Made the Skyrim dragon thing
Made 5 glass Nuva symbols
Badgered Zahaki into getting WFC
Killed Zahaki in WFC
Became an official Slipstream fangirl
Unfortunately, I doubt I'll be able to come this year, mostly because Western's fall quarter starts about a week beforehand. Unless I wind up joining a Lego club that decides to go en masse, the chances are slim. Next year is a bit more probable, though.
(Something of a rant ahead, with personal, recent references. You've been warned.) I think it's not a secret that I enjoy(ed) RPGs here -- I have an entire quote block here immortalizing quotations in various games I've been in, for crying out loud. My problem now, though, is that times are changing and I'm not changing with them, for good or for bad. Anyone else remember the days that when you joined an RPG, you were always given a chance to counter another player's post with your own, as
So after four-ish years of knowing of it and doing nothing, I finally succumbed to RvB. And all it took was the seven minutes of awesomeness, provided by Tex (aka my new favorite action girl) in S8, E10. What's next for me to start watching? ... (no spoilers okay guys I have seasons to catch up on)
Yep, it's been a year. Considering that nay-sayers kept claiming we'd last two months maximum, I'd say we've proven them dead wrong. =P On to two years! EDIT: And hey, have another early valentine's day picture, made by Jayson.
In 13 days, I'll be going more or less offline for about a week and three days. I'll only be on long enough to check PMs, maybe write an IC or two in Alignment, and possibly post a chapter of Wings, assuming I get it done. Why? Well, a certain Canadian that I'm in an LD-relationship with is coming down to Washington for a visit. And then after he goes home, I have college orientation. So yeah. With that said, if you hear reports of spontanious explosions at Sea-Tac airport, or Swert's
BrickCon. I'll be coming this year. And I won't be alone. I'm still sorting out the transportation thing, but I think we'll be taking the bus downtown, so we don't need to worry about driving and trying to find parking. Sure, there'll be more walking that way, but that's not as bad as the alternative. Hmm ... I'll probably wear my Kohrak-Kal shield ring there, and maybe string my bronze Shelek into a necklace so I can bring that along. Anyone else coming this year?
I've updated Wings. This, my friends, is where things are about to get crazy: nothing will be the same after this. Strap yourself in: as my good friend Sandra would say, "****'s about to get real." >=D
So, not much has been happening, outside of the job search. Went and saw Kubo and the Two Strings the other night; I loved it. If you haven't seen it yet, please do so; it's wonderful. Also, I've been preparing for both Rise of Iron and BrickCon; I should hopefully be planning transportation for the latter better than I did last year. Reborn's next chapter is in the works; there's just a scene that's been causing me trouble. I'll hopefully have it done by BrickCon itself.
I got back from my grad night party about .... three-ish hours ago? XD Still tired despite catnapping in certain parts of it. Might get a few more winks before I do anything productive today. Definately a lot of fun, though I still would've liked to have kept my internal clock intact by the end of it. =P Anyway, my high school years are officially over; might throw up a picture my mom took of me after commencement. (Which, incidentally, had a med-evac helicopter land nearby during the last h
I've been doing more in the last month than moping over the fact Ak's not here anymore, getting my soul stolen by Skyrim (and other entities), and ranting at RPGs. I've been doing what I'm supposed to do. Ya'know, writing. And I finally have something to show for this. Ladies and gentlemen, for your consideration -- Chapter 14 of Wings
So some of you might know of an upcoming COTRPG called Transformers: Alignment. It recently got its final vote of approval from the judges, so it won't be long before it's rolling. Anyone joining in on it, other than myself, Basilisk, Krayzikk, and Doctor Wotz?
