Stupid Ad

Monday, September 24, 2006 Look at the third one. Yup, ads are always effective when they're in a foreign language. And what exactly is nukearab? Oh, and one more thing... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/DihydrogenMonoxide/Bionicle/Relatedimages/vakama_spinny_resize.gif Hypnotize your friends!

Vakama Animation

Sunday, September 24, 2006 Just messin' around with a big roll of paper, a camera, my Bionicle sets, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft GIF Animator. It took a few hours yesterday and today to put together. Yes, I am very pleased with the results. Comments greatly appreciated! EDIT: (I don't like commenting in my own blog -- it's wierd): Yep, GFLK, I'm alive. Don't get many funnel clouds where I live, though.

How Do You Spell...

Ah, those times when people on BZP butcher the spellings of Bionicle names. Sometimes they're mild, sometimes they make me cringe, sometimes it's just outright hilarious. I've often thought about compiling a list of common misspellings so people can get them straight, but in the past I've never had the means or the patience.   Gee, I wish there would be a place for me to record all of those misspellings of Bionicle words and then post them to help the fans out when spelling stuff. But only guy

Barraki

Definition At the time of 80,000 years ago, Barraki was an archaic Matoran word roughly meaning “warlord.” History Ninety-five thousand years ago, as a potential means of maintaining order in the world more efficiently, Mata Nui created six beings of power – Pridak, Kalmah, Carapar, Mantax, Ehlek, and Takadox – each of a different race – and made them dictatorial rulers of small territories. Naturally, each of these six became dissatisfied with the amount of power given to them and built u

Acid Is Cool

Wednesday, September 20, 2006 I got to play with acid today in science. Yup, acid. Of course, there are some lab partners that you just can't trust with acid... When you put 6-molar acetic acid (vinegar) and 6-molar hydrochloric acid together on magnesium, it fizzes a lot and releases smelly, acidic fumes. Don't want to breathe that stuff -- you wouldn't be able to breathe right for a long time. It would be like having a cough that lasted three months. Here's a quiz: Would you rather d

An Old Fossil...

Here it is: the oldest existing topic on BZP, from October 15, 2001. NOTE: Do NOT post in this topic. Just reading through it...WOW. We've all learned to spell much better, it seems. Someone even curses in this old topic. How much we have grown. When you look at all of those old topics, you see some of the presently-well-known members (no one in particular) posts there, and you wonder how they could have actually typed that borderline-incomprehensible stuff. It takes you back in time, doesn't i

"Ξξ"

Sunday, September 17, 2006 Ξξ Ah, the Greek letter "xi." Some say it looks like like a box; others, an "E;" others, a spring. What do you think it looks like?

Kardas Dragon

The Kardas Dragon was a powerful Rahi that served as a mount for Vezon during the Toa Inika's quest for the Kanohi Ignika. When the Toa Inika defeated Vezon and Fenrakk, they plunged into a sea of lava, seemingly to their doom. What the Toa did not know was that the curse that had bound the seventh Piraka to the giant spider would not grant him so easy an end. The Ignika resurrected Fenrakk in the form of the Kardas Dragon, and the Toa had an even bigger fight on their hands. This was the final

Storyline

The Creation of the Universe 100,000+ Years Ago The great Bionicle legend – its beginnings occurred in an age over 100,000 years ago.   The primeval world existed as one of vast emptiness until the Great Beings came to it. Their one duty was to create new universes, so the Great Beings took it upon themselves to build up this world until it would suit the innumerable years of history that followed.   The process evidently spanned over many, many years. Meticulously the Great Beings created

2007 German Translations

I worked up my own translations of the Amazon.de website descriptions for the 2007 sets. Me and my dad (who is familiar with German) came up with these translations directly from the German source:   Mantax stalks his opponents in the darkness and grabs them from behind. He is equipped with thick armor; venomous, red spines; and sturdy forceps.   Carapar is twice as wide as he is long. With his long arms and enormous claws, he is able to overcome every obstacle. Thanks to his thick armor, he

Rain, Neighbors, And Snickers

Wednesday, September 13, 2006 Ever had a day that you just wished would end and then it wouldn't? Sooo tired today . I had way too little sleep last night and had two tests today. I tell ya, it's just been the week of the tests. I think I've had...what, five tests so far? And I still have two more tomorrow. Anyway, to fit the mood properly, the weather for the last three days has just been rain, rain, rain. Cold, depressing days of endless overcast skies with stinging, rainy mist in the wi

Remember 9/11

Monday, September 11, 2006 Here we are, five years later. Everyone always says that they remember exactly where they were when the news reached them that the planes had hit the World Trade Center buildings. Let us offer remembrance of that earth-shaking day. Do you give a donation to charity? Do you visit Ground Zero? Do you hang a flag outside your front porch? Do you bring it up in school? Do you use the "Remember 9/11" Avatar? All of us commemorate the tragedy that struck five yea

Category 472

Sunday, September 10, 2006 Hey there, . As you probably noticed, I've introduced a system in my blog called Category 472. It's a Bionicle storyline reference index that I will expand upon over time. As of now, I have already posted four articles. The purpose of these articles is to put the Bionicle mythos into my own words, perhaps helping anyone looking for answers where perhaps sites like Bionicle.com, BS01, or BZP didn't provide. It's actually kinda fun, organizing this vast amount of organi

Tahu

Toa Tahu was a Toa of Fire and the leader of the Toa Mata. He was gifted with the elemental power of fire; wore a Kanohi Hau, the Great Mask of Shielding; and carried a firesword. Tahu and the other Toa Mata were a part of the legend of Mata Nui, a legend that the Turaga of Mata Nui often told to the Matoran during the millennium between the Great Cataclysm and the Toa Mata’s arrival. The legend itself was spawned by a mix of common Matoran legends, the past experiences of the Turaga as the Toa

Index

I can't believe you stumbled upon this entry.   This index is a list of terms that I intend to give information on. Essentially, it is a directory for what will eventually make up Category 472 -- the reference section of my blog. The names will be linked to the places they are described in once they have descriptions. Feel free to comment for suggestions.   UPDATE for Summer 2008: I'm still working on this project, silently. Red text denotes that I have completed an article. The write-ups ge

He Who Blogs Can Do Many Things

Hey, I've got an idea now. Remember that Bionicle history thing I said I was starting on? I think I will post it here. It could be kept here in this blog as reference.   Thus, I am creating a new category -- Reference -- to create my own articles on the Bionicle storyline. If the search feature would ever start working again on BZP, people would even be able to search for any quick answers to story questions they have if I've happened to post the answers here. The gears are turnin' in my head.

Oh, That Song

Friday, September 8, 2006 My school's stupid radio program lost it's airing time during class hours on the loudspeakers this year due a shift in the schedule. We've all loved it. Unfortunately, they're apparently going to air every Friday at the end of school. At the end of every week, they are now going to play a song at a student's suggestion. This week's song was none other than the All American Reject's Move Along. That caused Bionicle to surface in my mind as I was heading through the hall

Have You Ever Seen A Fire?

Thursday, September 7, 2006 Ah, today my local Home Depot was on fire. At school I heard an announcement of some cocurricular being cancelled due to a fire near their meeting site. I found exactly what was on fire when I was driven by one of our favored stores. The usual -- columns of smoke dissipating into the blue sky, not a lot of flames, water gushing from huge fire hoses suspended on cranes. I remember in fourth grade that our teacher once asked us to write about the first time we had

Bionicle Legends #4

Wednesday, September 6, 2006 BIONICLE Legends #4: Legacy of Evil -- in my opinion, it is by far the BEST Bionicle book yet. Read the book and be enlightened to all of the true events behind BIONICLE 2006! Do not think you can get the story without it! It has a beautiful plot that stretches over seven-thousand years of storyline, and in the end it gives you perspective on the Piraka that you would not have expected before. It reveals many things: what the Makoki stone, makoki being Matoran for "k

A Puzzle For You

All right, I got something good for ya:   Alright, somewhere on this entry block there is a link to a printable form of this entry. You can do that if you want to try this problem hands-on.   In the above diagram, you must connect square A to A, B to B, and C to C with three (3) separate lines (don't have to be straight). The lines cannot cross each other, cannot go outside of the boundaries, and cannot pass through another letter's square. Got it? Simple, right? Get to it. And no, the ans

Oh...all Right

Tuesday, September 5, 2006 Yeah, I'll make an entry today. It can't be long; I'm swamped with homework and I haven't gotten much of it done due to the two-hour nap I just took.   I got Bionicle Legends #4 today! I started reading it...it's really good so far. Get it! Huge info on the Makoki stones, DH cameos...you'll love it.   Gotta go.
