Finally sat down and watched the first episode of Firefly last night with some friends.

 

I have to say... I thoroughly enjoyed it.

 

The only thing that seemed odd to me was that both in pacing and aesthetics it seemed very much more film-like than an episode of a TV show. That's not to its detriment at all, but was just a curios observation.

 

Don't know when I'll find time for the rest, but I have no doubt I'd like to watch it.

Ha, seems everyone is discovering this show recently. It's one of my favourites, and believe me when I tell you the pilot is the "worst" episode (if that's even possible for the show). It just gets better and better until it dies with a bang.

Mmh, and then watch the movie. Definitely a great show - and while, as pointed out above, the pilot isn't the best episode, it is definitely the best one to start on. I had a friend start on one of the episodes towards the middle, and they completely failed to get into it.

I agree the pilot is integral to the show. I was just pointing out that it gets even better. :P

 

Also part of me wishes I hadn't watched the movie because depression.
