James Marshall Hendrix
40 years ago today was the first day people awoke with the reality that Jimi Hendrix lived no more.
I'm not one of the people who calls him the greatest guitarist in the history of ever(That spot is sternly reserved for Jeff Beck), but I'd be a fool to argue he didn't have a huge influence, that he wasn't a **** good player, or that 90% of the guys everyone who detracts from him says can play circles around him would be playing how they do(Or in some cases at all) if not for him. It probably also helps he was also a good lyricist and thought of the compositional whole.
Rest peacefully Jimi.
