  1. Welcome, Shadow Vahki. I remember your special Rahkshi. Ah, good times. Oh, dang, I still need to make a PDF of JITL part I. Maybe that will get me off my duff to write more on part II!
  2. Wow, I'm thrilled that people are still interested in my stories. I've gotten them all into my archive (www.lilygee.com/galigees-archive) now, as nine PDFs with pictures. (I grouped the shorter stories into collections, and I spell-checked everything--embarrassing). There are also three animated GIFs and a comic (two JPGs). Enjoy! If you see any major errors, please let me know. mk7.13, thanks for the fantastic encouragement. I really did love the give-and-take with y'all when I wrote these stories. It was your enthusiasm that kept me writing, improved my skills, and gave me the guts to try my own thing. I couldn't have done it without ya. Aanchir, hello again! I'm not around here, much, either, but I pop in once in a while to see what's up in the LEGO world, and to reply to anyone still talking to me, and make announcements about my book. I do plan (eventually) to finish JITL. It's a fun story, and I have to give Takua closure! I'm done with the D2D second edit, and I've done the Con thing (see the Lily Gee site for my Zarena cosplay), so the only thing competing for my creative time is the sequel to D2D. *sigh* Not enough time! But thank God for the time I have. Well, thanks for checking in, guys. <makutavoice> I'll be back. </makutavoice>
  3. I do remember you, Terminator! It's great to hear from you. Thanks for the encouraging words. Hey, you can get the ebook for free with the coupon in the post above you, and then you can download it as many times as you like to a variety of devices. Something to read on your phone in math class or a business meeting. (You didn't hear that from me.) Enjoy!
  4. *shakes blue protodermis fist* Will you boys stop arguing in my topic? It would seem the BZP database has taken another hit, and some of my stories are lost. I've set up a GaliGee archive on my Lily Gee website (www.lilygee.com/galigees-archive), with PDFs to view, save, share, etc. If you want to comment on these, or request what stories I should upload next, please post here. Also, I just finished the second edition of Drawn to Disaster by Lily Gee, and coupon code GQ59X will get you a free ebook (expires March 31, 2014, go to www.smashwords.com/books/view/243393). Enjoy, with my compliments. And yes, I'm finally getting serious about the sequel. Thanks for stopping by!
  5. Shockwave, thanks so much for reading and reviewing! It's really good to hear that you didn't find any major plot holes. (That's one of my biggest fears.) I'm flattered that you liked the characters. I think the story is driven about equally between the plot and the characters, actually. The big plot twist is turning out to be the readers' favorite part. In the early planning stages, I considered making it an open secret, where the reader knows from the beginning even though Zarena doesn't, but it seems to work better this way. As for your specific objection, maybe I can explain it better: Does that make sense? I agree, the time on the island could have gone a bit faster. What didn't you like about the names? I'm stuck with the major ones for the sequel, but I'm still making up names for the new characters. Your feedback may help me improve Muse for Mayhem! In fact, I invite any of y'all who have read D2D to please tell me what you'd like to see in the sequel. What do you want to see more of--and less of? Any particular outcome? I welcome your brainstorms! Also, I would love any feedback on the updated video trailer, with more original pictures and a better Zarena voice. www.lilygee.com/video Thanks for popping in, people. Happy new year!
  6. <shockwave>, I hope you got a passing grade in your math class. I look forward to the review. Well, thanks to some great feedback from y'all in my video topic, I was motivated to update the trailer. Check out the new video, now with 300% more original art, and a better Zarena voice recording! (Yeah,in the beta version I relied a little too heavily on recycled cover art, and now Zarena is more how I imagine her, too.) Find it here: http://lilygeefiction.wordpress.com/video/ Or just search for it on YouKnowWhere. And... to celebrate me getting old (hey, it beats the alternative), I've posted a coupon code for those of you who didn't get a free ebook the first time. See my sig. Thanks for the love!
  7. Hey, y'all!Jean V, the narrator is of the same generation as my parents, and I'm probably of the same generation as your parents, so I imagine your golden voice is quite different. The reality-bending secret actually is related to the Hubble Telescope image. Morgoz derives his powers from the laws of quantum physics, and by pushing the envelope he manages to discover something amazing about his world. At this point D2D is only available online, but in my dreams you will see it someday in a bookstore.CHTrilogy, thanks! I agree, it is rather nostalgic. It's probably my primitive video tricks, plus the narrator's old-fashioned style (see my reply to Jean V).light Laser, I don't think my voice matches Zarena's very well, either, and I agree that I recycle the images a bit too much. Like you said, it's a promo, and I just wanted to get it out there. I'm thinking of doing another version, with a better Zarena voice and a few more images during that long pan of Zarena (the Lupenroz, the villainesses, and a couple of the mercenaries would float across the screen). And I might add music. My daughter came up with a good ominous bass line for me. :DThanks for watching it, and for posting. You've given me some good feedback!
  8. <shockwave>, sorry about your Kindle. Hope you got things straightened out. You can re-download it in any format, now that you've 'bought' it. A Princess Bride reference? Not deliberately, but I definitely see the poisoned-goblet similarity. (Twisted minds think alike.)light Laser, thanks for hanging with it! I look forward to hearing what you think (good and bad). :DAnd... I just finished the PROMO VIDEO! Check it out on my website, www.lilygee.com/video, and tell me about it in this topic. Thanks for stopping by,
  9. Hey, y'all! I just finished the promo video for my novel, DRAWN TO DISASTER by Lily Gee. DRAWN TO DISASTER videoThe narration was done by my wonderful friend Bob (if you've read D2D, you'll know why that name is significant), whose golden voice makes all the difference. He makes it sound so legit!Comments are welcome. Does it make you want to read the book?
  10. LewaLew, yes, the answer to life, the universe, and everything... Take heart, M4M will have a lot of new characters that weren't in the Makuta stories, and the plot takes a completely new direction, so hopefully you won't be bored. If repetition of my old stuff is all that disappointed you, I'm thrilled! Most of the population won't have that problem. The Gorast/Teridax idea is really funny. There's no one on Morgoz's power level, though, aside from his brother.Zarayna, tell your mom I'm sorry for being a bad influence. It's great that you liked it enough to stay awake, though! Tell me your gripes, I'm a big girl. You might help me improve the sequel. (One of my early beta readers told me my working title stank, and it prompted me to discover the play on words that now graces the cover.) Did you like the narrator's name? <shockwave>, I hope you have a nice, comfy chair and good lighting, so you'll be in a great mood when you write the review. :PThanks again to LewaLew and Wraith for their terrific reviews on Smashwords. I don't know if it was one of y'all, but someone named Kal Bluetooth just posted a great review on Amazon. The funny thing is, he mentioned the Hades and Persephone myth, which I never mentioned in D2D but plan to in M4M. Awesome! Thanks for stopping by,
  11. Hi folks. I've posted the link to Chapter 6: Sub Mission on the www.lilygee.com/bzpower page. It's where things get exciting again. (Yeah, you guys know Morgoz is real, but after the reconstruction and the party, Zarena has almost managed to forget about him ...)And if you haven't already downloaded the Drawn to Disaster ebook, do it soon! The coupon code expires tomorrow, October 31. So far we're up to 91 'sales,' including a half dozen downloads by my Sunday school friends. (Most of them aren't into shape-shifters who drive nuclear submarines, but they've been sweet enough to check it out. And maybe their kids will read it, too. )<shockwave>, I look forward to your review! Thanks for your interest, y'all! And please, tell me what you think. What's your favorite part? Was anything confusing? Did you like the characters? How do you want things to turn out in the sequel? (By the way, the working title for said sequel is Muse for Mayhem.)
  12. Thanks, <shockwave>! And good luck with your writing, too. You see where it can take you? :DWe're up to 82 ebook copies 'sold.' Check out the screen shot of Smashwords, and notice the 'sort by' parameter. You guys have put me at the top! I've gotten some really sweet comments on my blog. And, the link to Chapter 5: The Life of the Party is up on the www.lilygee.com/bzpower page, if anyone is reading it that way.Enjoy, and don't forget to review!
  13. Renewal, I loved your sappy post! I'm glad my stories have been memorable to someone. That's the most wonderful thing a writer can hear. Hey, it was you readers who taught me to compose those aggravating cliffhangers. I had to keep you coming back somehow! I hope you enjoy Drawn to Disaster. And when it's over, it won't really be over, because God willing, I will write a sequel. And as for that sequel, LewaLew, CHTrilogy, thanks for downloading the book! I hope you get the chance to read it soon. :biggrin:And thanks to the others who've downloaded D2D. We're up to 73 copies! If half of y'all actually read it, and a third of those who read it actually like it, I'll have a dozen fans!
  14. Wow, you guys are beyond awesome!BenLuke, cool! It'll be on your Kindle next time you need a beach read. LewaLew, thanks so much! Putting D2D back on the front page, and with such a great review, has stirred things up. We're up to 40 copies! I love your summary of the setup: "the supervillain decides he needs a girlfriend." That one phrase contains the fundamental conflict in the story, yes? Your description of Morgoz as alternately sincere and untrustworthy is exactly what I was going for. Zarena felt the same way. As for the revelation... yeah, how would you feel? I had a blast writing the part with the discussion board--heavily inspired, of course, by BZPower. :biggrin:shadowonua, your post warms my heart! Thanks for buying the paperback. I'm thrilled you liked it so much. Losing sleep, even! Yeah, the Lupenroz weren't lizards (which are just plain cool), but they were still fun to write. And the wolves allowed me wax autobiographical. Like Zarena, I'd always been more of a cat person, but then I met a dog who won me over. I think Morgoz had as much fun at the market as the kids did. Darn my lack of superpowers. But at least we have fiction! If you get a chance, would you mind copying your post to Smashwords (and/or Createspace) as a review? You can help me stand out among the million mediocre self-published books out there. And heck, yeah, there's going to be a sequel. The countries of the Za world will re-enact WWII, Morgoz will try to manipulate destiny, and the Lupenroz will start a rock band. (By the way, I wish I'd been hanging around BZP when your full-size steel Kraahkan topic was alive. That thing is baaaaad! ) The PDF of Chapter 4: The Light of Day is now on the BZP hidden page, www.lilygee.com/bzpower. (That stuff will stay up even after the free ebook coupon expires.) Thanks for all your support, guys! Please, give the free ebook code YA79W to your friends, and review it (especially if you like it).
  15. Hey, guys. We're up to 18 copies! Woot!Taka, I'm happy you liked it! Or, at least you seemed to. Tell me more, with spoiler tags if needed. (Click the third icon in the post editor, it looks like a green F inside a square). Congratulations on getting Morgoz out of your account. Now he's raising Cain in my stories topic. But he was provoked.Thunder on the Mountain, thanks for checking in! You may find the name of a minor character, Fieron DaMountain, to be of interest. (He'll be in the sequel, too.)iBrow Voltex, thanks! I'm really glad to be getting it out there. Let me know what you think.LewaLew, thanks for your awesome review, and the one on Smashwords. Yes, for a Makuta-GaliGee story reader, a lot of D2D is going to be re-runs. Hopefully for the general public, the story will seem less a patchwork and more a coherent weave. Well, thanks, all of y'all who've downloaded D2D and posted. As for the rest of you: go, dog, go! It's free, for crying out loud.
