Do we have any canon info that might indicate a time-range? I'd imagine there'd be a distribution in the times that specific Matoran, not just Ga-Matoran, could hold their breaths for, as evidenced by Taipu being stronger than other Onu-Matoran. Presumably it's variation in organic components which can be trained, and we know that Toa and Matoran have organic lungs so it's plausible. I also remember reading that someone here got the impression that regular Matoran could hold their breaths for a bit longer than humans. I don't know about those sources per se, but if anyone knows any please let us know. It seems that the average time a human adult can hold their breath is somewhere between 1-2 minutes (a quick look didn't yield a more specific number, but it's probably out there for anyone who wants to search more). It seems like most people can fairly reliably train to go to like 4-5 minutes, pro divers can usually do like 10, and the current World Record is astonishing 22 minutes and 22 seconds set by German freediver Tom Sietas in 2012. My current headcanon on time ranges is: 3 min for average Matoran / Toa 15 min for average Ga-Matoran / Ga-Toa 30-40 min for trained Ga-Matoran / Ga-Toa, i.e. fisherwomen etc. 1hr as the extreme pinnacle of what Ga-Matoran / Toa can do. Obviously all of these times go down if the diver is having to do any form of exercise. I'd love to read your thoughts on the matter, and any canon evidence you can bring forward

During this year's spring break, I, being a certified SCUBA diver, took advantage of this year's tenth anniversery of the Mahri Nui storyline, which as you all know took place underwater. I brought with two of the 2007 Bionicle sets, Toa Mahri Matoro and the Barakki Ehlek down to the Bahamas and on St. Patrick's Day brought both of them 15 feet into the depths and took several pictures of both hero and villian in various poses. It was a huge hit in Bionicle fan groups on FaceBook, so I am sure that you guys on BZPower will love it. Enjoy. Sorry for some blurriness, it was because I took these pictures through my iPhone encased in a waterproof bag. Don't worry, I still have that Ignika.

Sooooooo, contest! and it's one i can enter for once! even though i have never seen any episodes of that ninja thing, i sorta get what goes on. something something danger something something legendary weapon something something cool vehicle time! so, i guess i just injected the ninjago formula into a new location: the place where the Water Dragon is could have been cleaner, but that was out of my ability to fix, oops. (also i think my topic starter posts look better centered, haha.)

Am I the only one that thinks it was really weird that the Toa Mahrii had to go underwater? I mean, going underwater wasn't the weird part, but imagine them fighting the Barraki, they would have to be going pretty darn slow. True, the Barraki are probably more built to move around underwater as they are mutated. But the toa would still be moving pretty slow, even though their armor was changed. Or are toa big/strong enough that they can move through water like we move through air? I doubt it, but I'm open to hear what you guys and gals have to say.
