Hapori Tohu
There were three themes that no one voted on to request to see during our Toy Fair coverage, so it only makes sense that those are the last three that we're posting. Today we're looking at Classic, Juniors, and DUPLO - themes aimed at younger builders (or those looking to get lots of basic bricks!). If you're interested in checking out these sets, read on! Toa Smoke Monster
Spider-Man with a helicopter? That like the Hulk driving a car to get to a destination. Joking aside, these are not best sets I've seen from the Toy Fair. I can kind of see why they didn't get any votes. But that doesn't mean they are bad, because some of them do look good. The Spider-Man set with the helicopter, for example, is kind of cool even though he would need said vehicle. Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story. Smitty
Why are LEGO Classics base plates $7.99 (US)? That is outrageous. Quote At some point you realize that you are but a speck in the Universe. That you time in this worlds is but a blink. You see the whole of reality as it unfolds before you. You try to see how far you can reach, and it’s not that far past your face. But then you come back from the brink. You hold them in your arms again. And you know that you are where their world begins. You are their rock.
Lyichir
Why are LEGO Classics base plates $7.99 (US)? That is outrageous. Baseplates are big parts. They went for only $5 in 1996, but (as much as it scares me to say it), that was almost 20 years ago. The inflation alone makes up almost the entire price increase, while the remaining 32 cents can be attributed to a desire to hit an appealing price point (or possibly to Lego's in-house baseplate production, or the rising cost of plastic, or just a desire not to undervalue their product).
