Umarak backstory theory

this has is just my head cannon actually the idea kinda started before i even saw the set images so here it goes.

 

 

 

umarak was just an jungle or earth villager who liked to adventure he had heard rumors of an ancient maze that hid a great treasure so he took it upon himself to beat the maze. The maze is intact powered by the mask of control and Umarak is slowly becoming mutated and addicted to the mask power he finally finds the mask and the MOUP awaits his arrival the mask tells him he could have unlimited power and riches beyond imagining if only he would go on a quest to take down the creatures he is further mutated and is equipped with armor and weapons drawing power from the mask of control.He then names himself Umarak 

For the summer wave I think that he has succeeded in capturing the creatures and they have fused within the shadow traps into three separate beasts, the MOUP is pleased and rewards Umarak with the full power of the mask of control the mask fuses with him and he turns into Umarak the destroyer and the MOUP sends him on a final quest to destroy the toa then full power will be his. The MOUP security has plans to take over powered Umarak body and retrieve all of the masks of power(creation time, toa masks). Umarak uses the beasts and ends up capturing the toa- end 2016, 2017 toa are in captivity MOUP has mask of time and has fused with umarak, he sets out to defeat ekimu and gain the mask of creation, while the toa are locked up they are turned into hordika like toa (2017 winter wave) and escape (includes summer wave of 2017 bad guys somehow) then the toa battle their way against the bad guys escape and 2018 is the final battle.

 

you are welcome to add your thoughts/revise my theory where it doesn't make sense. also thanks to rakondewl for think my theory was cool and asking me to start this topic.

I love this theory, however it does need a little adapting to fit with LEGO's new description.  After reading your awesome backstory I wanted to see what LEGO had to say about him and this is what I found.

So maybe Umurak is a body snatcher and stole the adventuress little villager's body, after his shadow traps captured him.

Whilst it's a cool idea of a story it doesn't seem to play into lego's planned out version of events. For one thing the theme is currently planned up to 2017 which means the final battle (at least in the current story arc) will most likely be then. The idea of Umarak being a matoran is possible. I don't know how the labyrinth of control works but I think it wouldn't be a good idea to have it powered by the mask of control as it was created to keep people away from the MOCR. I mean I don't know if Makuta can still control it but he could have a connection with it. I've heard of the idea that MOUP is conscious but I'm not sure if lego would go that route. I mean Makuta has been built up for a while now so I doubt they'd just throw him out. And hordika whilst not completely out of the question would require a number of new molds that I think current CCBS just couldn't create. I like the idea of that happening but I'm not sure if it could anymore from a cost perspective (things were different back in the mid 2000s). Again I think it's a good idea and I would recommend maybe writing it as a fan fiction but I just don't know if lego would do it with the way they're handling things at the moment.

"He was born out of the shadows" It's a nice theory and all but I don't really agree with it I more like him being a "Skull Hunter" animated by Makuta.

I think he is a warrior of Makuta but thinks he is better than Makuta. Makuta wants his mask back but Umarak gose against Makuta's orders and takes the mask for himself. He can't handle its power and it fuses into him.(summer wave version)
